Okay. Not great.
Pros:

Bed was comfortable. Location was decent. 30 minutes from most hot spots (without any traffic).

Cons:

Linens were stained.

The pictures/description of the room was misleading. Deluxe Room was advertised with “Balcony with Mountain Views” as per the pictures and description. However our room was on the ground floor of the hotel, so the window and porch/patio (not balcony) was completely connected to and open to general sitting area. People were sitting right outside our window till 1 AM and constantly passing by which kept triggering our dog (if we’d known it was next to a general public space we would not have booked the room).

On the second night they set up a table for a large group right outside our window. Despite politely requesting them to move it further away within the same area, they took no action.

WiFi was not good inside the room.

Bathroom shower had no partition or curtain so water went everywhere. Fixtures were a little broken/loose. Water pressure was not good.

NEVER DO advance payment by trusting Booking.com & Don't think hotel will not be there to cheat you.
Pros:

Overall, the stay was good and the services after check-in were satisfactory. The staff during the stay was polite and the property itself was decent.

However, the check-in experience was extremely disappointing. After a long journey from Gurgaon to Lansdowne, we reached the hotel around 8 AM and requested an early check-in. Instead of showing any flexibility or hospitality, the front desk demanded INR 2,000 for early check-in, which honestly felt unreasonable. We were left waiting for hours despite being exhausted from travel.

Also, we had booked a balcony room, but the room provided did not meet expectations. The front desk was not cooperative regarding room change requests either.

The stay itself was comfortable later on, but the stressful check-in experience badly affected the overall impression. I hope the management improves customer handling and adopts a more reasonable approach for guests arriving early after long journeys.

Cons:

Overall, the stay was decent, but the experience with the hotel front desk and Booking.com support completely ruined our trip and caused us a lot of stress.

We were travelling from Gurgaon to Kotdwar by train and then further to Lansdowne. Even though our train arrived around 4 AM, we still tried our best to reach the hotel late so that we would not disturb them early. Somehow, after a tiring journey, we reached the hotel around 8 AM expecting at least some cooperation from the staff.

The front desk directly told us that check-in would only be possible at 2 PM. We politely requested early check-in and even agreed to pay extra charges, but they demanded INR 2,000 just for early check-in. Charging 2K for a few hours is completely unreasonable. We finally decided not to pay such an unfair amount and waited helplessly.
We had specifically booked a “Superior King Room with Balcony,” but the room provided was on the ground floor with wooden barricades in front, which they called a balcony. Honestly, it made no sense. A balcony room should at least offer a proper elevated view or open space. We continuously requested a room on the 1st or 2nd floor from 8:30 AM onwards, but the front desk kept denying availability, even though many rooms clearly appeared vacant.
The most disappointing part was the support from Booking.com. The first executive listened to the entire issue and disconnected the call abruptly. The second executive only kept us on hold and finally said they could not help and that we had to deal with the hotel directly. If Booking.com cannot support customers during genuine issues, then what is the purpose of booking through the platform?

In the end, we had no option except to compromise because the payment had already been made in advance. The trip became mentally exhausting because of poor customer handling and lack of support from both the hotel and Booking.com.

Pros:

The property is beautiful, the staff is friendly and courteous, the food is good too. Overall it was a comfortable stay and I'd recommend this hotel if you're in lansdowne. The view is scenic and the place is quiet and peaceful. That's exactly what i was looking for.

Cons:

Rooms didn't have towels and hand towels.

A big shout out the staff
Pros:

Hamilton Palace is a beautiful property and peacefully located with absolutely stunning views. Rooms were clean and cozy, wooden style interior makes it look gorgeous.
Views from every room is breathtaking. Hotel staff is very helpful in nature under the guidance of Manager Mr. Amit Yadav.
Only the issue which I noticed was lack of options in Breakfast, but still staying at this property is worth.

Cons:

Nothing as such. Only an advise if they can include more options in breakfast. Also many items in Menu card were not available.

Pros:

The rooms and location were good. The views were super. However access to the hotel is through a narrow, poorly maintained road. The staff is friendly, helpful. Food was average

Cons:

Not suitable for elderly or physically challenged.
Dining facility needs upgradation, esp for winter - the dining hall was on the 2nd floor, open on one side and glass windows all around, no curtains or heating arrangement. Crockery , cutlery, flasks, etc were chipped and poor quality.
