There was good internet access.
The double mattress in the glass room was okay for comfort.
Hardly any work surface in the kitchen. Lack of cooking equipment. Curtains in living room and front bedroom falling off rails and curtains in the glass room didn't give enough privacy. The pillows were very uncomfortable and the blanket (instead of the duvet) had a hole in it.
On arrival, tired after a flight, I had no internet access so couldn't get the lock box code. The person at the end of the phone gave us the code for the wrong room. My daughter managed to use hotspot to get internet to my phone and find the key code. I had not realised I needed to log into Booking.com for this.
The glass bowl room was hot and very stuffy and I think it was this that made me feel quite ill. I was fine when out of the building during the day but dizzy and nauseous when in our bedroom.
Single beds had very uncomfortable mattresses although only one bed was used. One mattress felt very squidgy but was used because the other mattress was very thin and felt on the bedframe.
The double mattress in the glass room was okay for comfort.
The settees were very delapidated. A screw was protruding out on one of the dining chairs.
There was a cover missing on the toilet seat fixing.
Location was excellent. Right next to Cuba St and the heart of the city.
We arrived to find the parking we had prebooked was on the top floor of a Wilson car park, which had significantly low restrictions on car height. It meant we couldn't get up to our parking, something we could have remedied if we were pre-notified about it. The manager was very reluctant to give any discount as an apology for the stress we had in A. Finding the parking for the hotel, and B. Accessing the car parking space. Communication always helps!!
Also our room was a box without windows. It felt like a prison.

The location is handy being right in the city, nice view from balcony.
We arrived after hours. The instructions provided were incorrect and no one answered the after hours phone or office line. We eventually tried a different lock box and got the key. On arrival to the room we noticed the musty smell first and the sticky floors second! The ceiling was stained and leaky, hair on the towels and dirty linen. The curtains were hanging off the rail and the furniture all worn and broken. Shower had mould all around the top and the mirror was filthy.
We stayed that one evening and booked alternative accommodation as fast as possible. Checked out of our 4 day stay after 1 night.
When we arrived at the Wellington Hotel on January 26, 2026, we were immediately met with strong and unpleasant odors throughout the reception area. The space appeared unhygienic and unclean, to the extent that one member of our group felt so uncomfortable they had to leave shortly after arrival.
The room we were allocated (Room 10C) was extremely dirty and unsanitary and did not resemble what was advertised on the hotel’s website. This constitutes misleading and false advertising regarding the facilities offered. One of the bathrooms had a broken toilet seat, making it unsafe and unusable. The shower rose was visibly filthy, and there were clear signs of moisture and mould staining on the ceiling. The carpet had not been vacuumed, and the hard flooring appeared not to have been cleaned for a very long time. Additionally, the exhaust fan was heavily blocked with dust and debris, worsening ventilation and contributing to moisture and mould issues. The room had a strong, unpleasant odor, and the air felt stale and unhealthy—similar to the reception area. Please see attached photos for evidence.
These conditions were completely unacceptable for paying guests. We strongly believe this establishment warrants a proper investigation regarding health, safety, and building code compliance, as the standards were well below what is reasonably expected.
After inspecting the room, we approached reception and spoke with a staff member named James. He stated he could “fix” the toilet seat but offered no other resolution apart from moving us to another room. He assured us that the alternative room (Room 10B) was “exactly the same as what we booked,” however it only contained two bedrooms instead of four. This room also suffered from the same hygiene issues and had an even stronger, more unpleasant odor.
At this point, we determined that the hotel was not a safe or healthy place to stay.

Great Location, great having a car park
Was a bit confusing on check in, how to find our way in and where to park, instructions sent out before we arrived could have been clearer.
Location was perfect as it was where we needed to be for the new year celebration.
The aircon in the room was blowing hot air which made the room unbearable to be in. Had to switch it off as it would only blow cool air for a few minutes. Room needs more then one fan in that room as there's no air flow

Hidden cost like I had to pay them additional $100 for parking which was own by the hotel, also the room were given seperate for kids and paid extra when requested for a room together since the kids were below 10 years and no room service was provided for 4 days.bond was not send to account as promised for will be in account after 1 day but didn’t came till now
