Clean room
Busy road with loud music.
Clean, comfortable and well decorated. Nicely lit.
Overall a good place for the money.
Shower faulty (worked but only from switch outside bathroom faulty switch on shower. Toilet roll holder snagged constantly, had to faff about to get any.
Located above beer garden on a Saturday night wasn't brilliant as people were there, at their loudest, until midnight.
A perfect overnight before getting the ferry to Stromness.
Great location and comfy bed.
Not simple to find as there isn't a proper reception. You have to pass by the Commercial pub and we arrived around 8:30pm when the pub was already full of young people celebrating the Celtics win (unfortunately they were loud and til around 1 am). In the bathroom bin there was trash from the previous guest, so the cleanliness should deffo be improved.
Cheapest place I could find for the start of my John O Groats to Lands End bike ride was able to keep the bike in the room which was two rooms one with bed the other with coffee and tea and a nice seating area next to the bathroom which was very clean. When you look at pictures the building looks old and run down but the insides are very nice and for the price I was very happy indeed
Clean room friendly locals greeting me at the door as said the room was really nice with it's two rooms the view was of the beer garden so that's a shame
The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. Excellent quality. The lady member of staff was very welcoming and helpful.
The hotel doesn't have it's own parking but it wasn't a problem as we were told where we could park when we checked in (on the street a few steps away).
The room was decorated to a high standard.
The external look of the building gave a very poor first impression.
Felt very welcome. Room was clean and tidy. Bed was comfortable.
Did not look welcoming from the outside. But we were pleasantly surprised with the friendly staff that greeted us inside the pub which looked and felt cosy and welcoming.
