It served a purpose.
Pros:

Room was clean, bed was comfortable enough.

Cons:

There was no smoke alarm in the bedroom which is against the law in Scotland. There was no breakfast provided and there was no WiFi. The waste bin had not been emptied since the last occupant.

Perfect Overnight Stay
Pros:

Overnight stay prior to a work event the next day. Clean, comfortable, and surprisingly quiet considering the central location. Fabulous old building with plenty of character, and very friendly welcome.

Great room, next to a popular bar
Pros:

The room was perfect, a good size comfortable bed, a nice desk, a good bathroom with a shower and hot water. Just what I needed. The staff in the bar were very helpful and pleasant. It is located in a good central location for Thurso.

Cons:

It wasn't immediately obvious upon arriving that it was the hotel. Whilst the bar was lovely and friendly on the Friday night, there was a dangerous edge to it on the Saturday night. While they don't do food and that was known in advance, it can be difficult to work out where exactly DOES do food, especially if you arrive in the dark.

Very disappointing
Pros:

Room was clean and appeared comfortable…

Cons:

A warm welcome and nice room were cancelled out by the noise from the bar below us. We don’t mind a bit of noise, and expect it if staying near a bar, but in this case the music, so loud our teeth were vibrating, finally stopped at 3 minutes to 1 am. There was a further half hour of shouting from the street, and a lot of vomit on the pavements next morning when we left. It was a miserable experience and surely there should have been some warning. Future guests thinking of booking Friday or Saturday - consider yourselves warned!

Overall it was good, very clean and nice room but noisy through the night so take ear plugs!
Pros:

Very clean rooms and comfy beds. Very spacious rooms and nice bathroom.

Cons:

Very loud at night as above beer garden, would have been good to have a hair dryer.

Extremely loud music from pub audible in room until 01:00 AM
No parking (Advertised as secure parking)
WiFi not in all rooms, and poor in the rooms it does reach. (Advertised as fast wifi)

We were fishing so the showers had to be good and they were!
Pros:

Compared to some other hotels close by, the rooms were really good. My mate stayed in another hotel and the roof fell in in his room soaking him and his phone!

Cons:

Not that it bothered me but the rooms are part of a pub! Friday and Saturday is a little noisy. No breakfast, wasn’t a problem to us, basically right next door is a sandwich shop that opens reasonably early. Good bacon and egg rolls, with sandwiches and soup and cakes available. Recommend highly!
