Unexpected stay.
Pros:

Homely, welcoming they accommodated us at very short notice as sadly the hotel we were booked into was not acceptable.

Perfect Overnight Stay
Pros:

Overnight stay prior to a work event the next day. Clean, comfortable, and surprisingly quiet considering the central location. Fabulous old building with plenty of character, and very friendly welcome.

It served a purpose.
Pros:

Room was clean, bed was comfortable enough.

Cons:

There was no smoke alarm in the bedroom which is against the law in Scotland. There was no breakfast provided and there was no WiFi. The waste bin had not been emptied since the last occupant.

Great room, next to a popular bar
Pros:

The room was perfect, a good size comfortable bed, a nice desk, a good bathroom with a shower and hot water. Just what I needed. The staff in the bar were very helpful and pleasant. It is located in a good central location for Thurso.

Cons:

It wasn't immediately obvious upon arriving that it was the hotel. Whilst the bar was lovely and friendly on the Friday night, there was a dangerous edge to it on the Saturday night. While they don't do food and that was known in advance, it can be difficult to work out where exactly DOES do food, especially if you arrive in the dark.
