There was no smoke alarm in the bedroom which is against the law in Scotland. There was no breakfast provided and there was no WiFi. The waste bin had not been emptied since the last occupant.

It wasn't immediately obvious upon arriving that it was the hotel. Whilst the bar was lovely and friendly on the Friday night, there was a dangerous edge to it on the Saturday night. While they don't do food and that was known in advance, it can be difficult to work out where exactly DOES do food, especially if you arrive in the dark.

A warm welcome and nice room were cancelled out by the noise from the bar below us. We don’t mind a bit of noise, and expect it if staying near a bar, but in this case the music, so loud our teeth were vibrating, finally stopped at 3 minutes to 1 am. There was a further half hour of shouting from the street, and a lot of vomit on the pavements next morning when we left. It was a miserable experience and surely there should have been some warning. Future guests thinking of booking Friday or Saturday - consider yourselves warned!

Very loud at night as above beer garden, would have been good to have a hair dryer.

Extremely loud music from pub audible in room until 01:00 AM
