It was a truly memorable experience. The hosts Suryakanthy was really friendly and helpfull and the room was clean, cozy.
The location was convenient and beach was only walkable distance away.
I would definitely recommend this place to everybody and I’d love to come back again!

I stayed at Phantom holidays homestay for several days in March 2025 and it was absolutely wonderful. Suryakanthi and her parents are the kindest, most welcoming people who made my stay in Alleppey truly special.

Before my arrival, I reached out to Suryakanthi to check the internet connection (as I was taking an online course and needed a stable connection—spoiler: it was excellent!) and to confirm if there was a desk in the room (✔️). She was incredibly helpful, and everything went smoothly.

Upon arrival, she showed me around and gave me great recommendations on where to go and eat.

The homestay is in a perfect spot! Just a 5-minute walk to the beach (and not just any part of the beach, but a quieter, less crowded one). I took morning walks there every day, and one lucky morning, I even spotted dolphins! 🐬😍

There are plenty of restaurants along the beach, and the main beach area is just a 15-20 minute walk away. Right around the corner from the homestay, there’s a small junction with local shops where you can find everything you need—fruits, vegetables, medicine, bread, chai, and more.

The homestay is located in a peaceful local neighborhood, and I absolutely loved it. Everyone was so friendly, always greeting me with a smile. It was refreshing to stay in an area that wasn’t overrun with tourists—Alleppey, in general, still has a very authentic feel.

Also, there is a swing in the shaded yard, which I used often (my inner child was thrilled!), and guests also have access to the kitchen, which is a huge bonus.

All in all, a perfect stay—I would come back in a heartbeat!

The lady was really helpful. They also have a boat and it is easy to book boat and room together.

This was a great place to stay. The room was extremely clean and comfortable. The host and her family were so welcoming and showed great communication before my stay to ensure I enjoyed my visit. I can't recommend the Shikara trip enough. The hosts father, who owned the boat, was delightful and treated me like one of the family.

Wonderful/polite behaviour of the property owner. They managed everything from boat to car booking even during peak hours.

This homestay is family-run and it's done with such an incredible care and attention! Amazing hospitality - anytime I needed anything there was someone (primarily Kailas) to assist me! Very responsive (literally I'd get response within minutes from sending a message!), even dropped me off at the train station and always offered to take me somewhere I felt like going. Thank you so much Kailas! The Dad has his boat and so they also run the backwaters experience - as such easy and flexible to arrange pretty much on the spot :) during the boat trip we bought some freshly caught clamps from the fisherman we were passing by and the Mom cooked them for me! Such a delicious fresh meal! At the same time it's just 10 min walk away from the beach and small boutiques if you need some snacks. Fast wifi, well working AC and fan and smart TV. GREAT value for money! Perfect place to stay <3

The property is located in a quiet neighbourhood surrounded by families and smiling people. It is situated perfectly away from the crowded beach, yet just 10 mins walking distance. The local market and a lot of local eateries are 2 mins away from the property. The rooms were much bigger than expected and everything mention on the site while booking was upto mark.
But more importantly, the host family was absolutely gracious, hospitality and helpful at every point. Suryakanthy called us well before reaching to make sure everything we needed was in place and guided us on the arrival day. We were offered complimentary coffee on the first day, provided with water throughout so that we didn't have to get plastic bottles, and even provided us with glases and plates for when we ordered via Swiggy. They regularly checked in with us several times a day to ensure our stay was comfortable and if we needed anything. The family was extremely open to helping us with anything we needed. They also owns boating service which is safe, liscenced and appropriately priced (especially compared to the substantially more expensive, overpriced options you'll find online). We had a really great 2 hours boat ride and the father, Kailashnath ji (who was steering) was quite knowledgeable and great to chat with.
It was refreshing to stay at a place where the hosts are truly kind and not out to extort money at every corner. It was a genuine homestay experience and it felt like we were staying with an extended family who cared about our experience.
