Important information:

Please note that Zermatt is a car-free village. You can park your car in Täsch (indoor parking) and continue to Zermatt by train or taxi. A shuttle service from the parking area or from the train station can be provided upon request by the hotel between 8 am and 5 pm and against a surcharge.

In the mid-season (May/June and October) the elevator to the village center may have limited use.

There is currently a construction site with a crane in close proximity to our hotel. The work may temporarily affect the view from some rooms.

Excellent, I would definitely stay here again
Pros:

Excellent hotel that exceeded my expectations, Miguel and his staff really looked after us during our stay.

The location of the hotel is great due to the ease of races the the ski lift using the nearby lift. The hotel facilities were great, really enjoyed using the spa and pool and the breakfast was excellent.

We stayed in the room on the top floor with a room of the Matterhorn and I think you would struggle to find a better view in all of Zermatt.

Cons:

I can’t really think of anything that I would have changed about the Alpenroyal.

The staff are amazing, everyone was nice and remembered who you were. They really made the stay remarkable
Pros:

The spa and breakfast, they were both excellent and more than I expected

Cons:

The rooms were very cramped, each of us had to move to let the other walk by anywhere in the room and the tub didn’t have a standup shower. The shower was there only attached to low for standing. I think this a standard here though.

Pros:

Location was very reasonable.
Breakfast good.
Staff were helpful.
We enjoyed our stay in this lovely place with the one exception below.

Cons:

The worse bathroom with poor shower facilities. Shower had intermittent pressure and it was a shower curtain over an old bath.
Time for renovation.
