Charming, Comfortable and Welcoming - The Ideal Hotel Stay.
Pros:

The Albion is a lovely, charming and very comfortable place to stay. The rooms - indeed, the whole building (plus the Castle Inn next door) - are very well renovated and furnished, and the entire hotel is aesthetically very attractive. The Nordic breakfast was fulsome and wholesome, and the location of the hotel, directly across the river from the castle and the town, was perfect for witnessing the return of Rhys James after 850 years! Last but not at all least, the two people running it are lovely people - calm, friendly, warm, and thoroughly charming.

An enjoyable stay in a lovely location
Pros:

Lovely location next to the river and close to the castle and centre of town. Our room was great, very comfortable and clean. Breakfast was simple, no hot food offered but it was nice.

Cons:

Staff were welcoming and helpful but the reception area was not staffed so we couldn't ask questions about the area/our stay.

Pros:

Great location, a short walk to downtown. Facilities were well appointed with a modern decor that works well with the 200+ year old stone structure . Breakfast had lots of variety and was very tasty

Cons:

No lift.

Glad we stayed at the Albion but the experience could have been better (breakfast) .
Pros:

The building and room were lovely as was the location - very convenient.

Cons:

The car park is small we only just managed to get a space.
The breakfast was a bit disappointing. Only granola as a cereal option - too much sugar.
The boiled eggs were cold which I would have been happy with but the insides were runny ! Cold runny egg is not pleasant (ie raw !)
Too expensive !

Beautifully created. The Albion is like stepping into a world of tranquility.
Pros:

Beautifully created. The Albion is like stepping into a world of tranquility and such a personalised experience. We were also given a free upgrade and had breakfast served on our table as we were the only guests that night. Spot on!

Cons:

NOTHING!

very characterful hotel in a wonderful town
Pros:

very lovely and characterful hotel in a wonderful town. We thought the breakfast selection and general atmosphere and presentation was superb.

Cons:

my boyfriend is 198cm and he couldn't stand up straight (not even close to standing up straight) in the breakfast room and corridors of the hotel. the staff kindly moved us to a new room so that he could stand up in the room. it's actually illegal in germany to build rooms with ceilings lower than 240cm, so we were quite shocked, and in general I was just quite surprised that a 3 year old hotel has been built in such un-inclusive way. because of this and a few quirks in the way that it is design which make the rooms not 100% easy to use (like not being able to access the windows to close blinds, nor having a second side to the bed), I felt the place was a bit overpriced.
parking was also a bit difficult as the car park always ran out of spaces, though I think this is being changed soon if I understood correctly.

Excellent decor and fittings - interesting, stylish and well proportioned room.
Pros:

Location is perfect for accessing the town on foot.

Cons:

A slight issue with the lack of bathroom privacy due to the semi-opaque sliding bathroom door.

unique and boutique
Pros:

Lovely Scandi-style breakfast. When we arrived we didn't know what to expect. so expect a beautiful, grand old refurbished building with upcycled interior. right on the river, cute bar and reception area. Cosy rooms with gorgeous views of the river. the most unbelievably comfy beds (better than home), great amenities, lovely soaps in the showers and just generally a lovely lovely getaway. This is what hotels should be about, a step up from home. a bed so cosy, you actually don't want to return home?

Cons:

Nothing. Everything was fantastic.

Interesting conversion of an historic building in a great location with very helpful staff.
Pros:

Great healthy lavish breakfast- friendly and helpful staff. Accommodating health needs on a lights issue (for a serious sight related epilepsy condition.)
Picturesque views and great location with the hotel sympathetically converted.

Cons:

nothing

Exceptional
Pros:

Absolutely beautiful hotel with wonderful amenities including lovely bath products and an outdoor fire. The breakfast was fantastic, all locally sourced food including smoked salmon and granola, plus coffee or tea. I’d come back to Wales just to stay here again!
