The host was very friendly. He served homemade halva from a centuries old family tradition
Rien
I was just looking for a place to stay for one night to visit Aphrodisias the next day, and it turned out to be one of the best experiences of my trip. The house is an historical 300 years old mansion, comfortable, very charming and special, renovated with a lot of love and care into a small hotel, and with a lush garden in front. The room is nice and comfortable, full of history and charm as well, and the bathroom is not big but it's functional and does well the job.
The best part of my short stay was to meet Emin, the gracious host and owner of the guesthouse, such a kind, charming and sweet gentleman. He welcomed me on the street, offered me some tea and cookies in the living room while he was doing my check in, and then we had a little chat using the phone's translator. The next morning he prepared a plentiful local breakfast, it was delicious and homemade, he and his wife themselves make the halva, the cherry jam and grow the olives. While I ate breakfast, Emin sat with me with his tea and we had a lovely conversation (with the translator) about diverse topics, like local history, Aphrodisias visiting tips, his family, mine, his hobbies, his olive trees and his love for antiques. He also told me about the house's renovation and his garden and plants. It was such a lovely time and it was hard to leave! I hope to return again.
I only wish I had stayed more than just 1 night, it was such a great experience.
Perfect for visiting Afrodisias. The owner was incredibly hospitable and helpful. So much history in that house and more than happy to share. Also made great suggestions about where to grab some dinner and to check out the local pottery. Really a relaxing delightful evening . Lovely to be able to learn a little history and be surrounded by all the house had to offer. Plus breakfast was great. Highly recommend.
A little hard to find but might have been us not navigating well.
It was a beautiful property on the inside full of antiques an charm. The host, although he did not speak English, and I do not speak Turkish, was a wizard on the translation app. Breakfast with homemade jam and olives (amongst other things) was fine.
Nothing
Casa meravigliosa host accogliemte
Petit dej produits locaux.
Rien en particulier
This guesthouse is in an authentic historic house, full of atmosphere, hosted by a charming gentleman who adores his town (he was once the mayor). Great common spaces, excellent breakfast. Nearby Aphrodisias is a knockout.
The town itself is pretty ordinary. But it's in wonderful surroundings.
We had the best time at Helvacilar Konagi. From the moment you walk in, Emin Bey treats you like family - indeed, the hotel is his lovingly restored family home! The house is absolutely stunning, full of antiques and interesting touches. The room was very comfortable. Emin is a kind-hearted and fascinating person, we had many great conversations. The breakfast was personally prepared by Emin and was so delicious, especially his homemade helva. I will remember our stay here for a long time.
The bathroom is a little small, but perfectly functional.
Beautifully restored and maintained historical house with a beautiful garden. The owner, Emin Hoca, is a very sweet, friendly and wise person.
The floor drain in the bathroom should have an S installed to prevent smells from emerging.
Such a cool old house that has been beautifully restored.
The host is very friendly and wait for our arrival. He provide an excellent breakfast for us.
The guest house was incredibly beautiful, full of antiques. It was like traveling in time. Emin was completely delightful, very attentive and knowledgeable. We really enjoyed having a chat with him through google translator.
The town where is located is definitely not a touristic spot, people don’t speak other that Turkish and it’s not great to walk around. I’d recommend just as an overnight stop when traveling between places, as we did.
Everything! This has been one of our best stays ever. Emin, the owner, is a jewel of a person. The conversations with him during the evening, accompanied by a tea, are a true experience. The house itself is a piece of history, and was renovated in a very intelligent and sober way. The balcony is just so much more than that, and overlooks the beautiful garden/patio in which Emin serves a great breakfast.
We will definitely stay there again if we go back to the region. We had the best of the times!
