Pros:

It was right in the heart of the small town of Weaverville and the hotel felt welcoming and personal.

Cons:

The matrasses were very firm. The furniture showed significant wear, and I understand the desire to maintain pieces from that time. However, the armchairs, sofa, and other seating need to be refurbished to ensure guests comfort. If that investment is not feasible, the hotel should consider updating the furnishings with alternatives that provide a more comfortable experience while still completing the propertys character. The rooms have poor insulation so we were lucky to have quiet neighbors.

Pros:

This was a beautiful historic hotel in downtown Weaverville, California.
It is well kept and was very secure.
It was obvious to me that a lot of hard work and thought went into this property.

Cons:

The very high end coffee machine in the lobby was hard for me to figure out. I didn’t even try.

There was a Kurig brand coffee machine in the room. That is a pretty standard mainstream brand.

Keep to one brand of the coffee machines.

Beautiful room with old time feeling throughout the building. Comfy bed. Fireplace did not work.
Pros:

The atmosphere was wonderful! That old time feeling was definitely experienced and I wish we could have stayed another night to enjoy the tub.

Cons:

One of the best features of our room that we were looking forward to was the fireplace. Unfortunately, it did not work. We attempted the instructions multiple times without success. No staff on site so we were at a loss as far as that went. Very disappointing.

The ease of checking in. The room itself was immaculate.

Cons:

No staff whatsoever. Reviewers raved about the breakfast....nothing. That was disappointing to say the least. Especially because we woke up early for it. The bed (twin) was a bit small and a little uncomfortable.

Comfortable stay in a charming historic building.
Pros:

It’s like staying in a museum. Everything was comfortable and clean. The parlor was delightful, and I liked the Halloween decorations.

Cons:

Not much really. It would have been nice to have better instructions how to use the ice maker, specifically how much time is needed for it to work. I gave up.

Pros:

The weather was perfect so we didn't use the AC. The property is a beautifully restored 19th century Gold Rush property. Very clean, quite in an old mining town. Perfect for overnight while on a road trip or fly fishing the Trinity River. We have stayed multiple times.
