I booked this location because I was visiting Lisbon for a tour of ISCTE, and needed a place for my sister and me to stay. Please keep in mind this review for North America guests primarily, as we came from the U.S. I obviously knew it wasn't going to be the Carlton, but it did not meet my expectations, even knowing it was a lower-budget option. Firstly, when we arrived, we were supposed to check in with the housekeeping lady, who was going to let us in. We practiced some basic Portuguese, but we don't speak the language at all. This lady was speaking to us in Portuguese through the intercom, and I could't understand what she was saying. Not saying that we shouldn't make an effort to learn the language, but if you're offering a stay to international travellers, your facilities staff should be able to say a few words in English at a minimum. We ended up being let in by chance by another tenant leaving the building. It was an extremely awkward interaction and a horrible start to our trip. When we got upstairs to the room, the housekeeper proceeded to explain everything in Portuguese, and we didn't understand a word but got the basic gist.
In terms of the accommodations, the room was listed for three guests, which it definitely was. However, it was EXTREMELY cramped, to the point where we kept tripping over our things to move around the room. There was a dining set that took up the corner near the door, and then a couch and two beds, one a twin, and one a queen. The only open floor space was near the front, where the fridge and TV were. The twin bed is literally as soft as a rock, and the pillows are extremely cheap and uncomfortable. I had to switch to the queen bed, which is literally just a four-inch mattress topper on a frame, because mine was so uncomfortable. The bedding was obviously the cheapest option offered at IKEA, and you could tell.
There was no water supply besides the sink, because the dispenser was broken. We took Bolts everywhere because we did not feel comfortable walking to the train station, and had many frustrated Bolt drivers and route issues due to massive potholes, traffic jams from the narrow roads, and construction. There was trash strewn literally everywhere, and down the street, a house with a gaping hole in the side. It was a really dirty area. Not sure if the area was in a good place or not, but we didn't think so. Extremely isolated and residential location, outside Lisbon city center, not suitable for tourists. Couldn't get the hot water to turn on, best I got was two minutes of lukewarm, then back to cold. So no showers. Bathrooms were okay, the smaller one you can't even open all the way because the shower is in the way. Amenities were fine. For my North American guests, older buildings in Portugal don't have good building insulation, so they are really cold, especially in winter, and you can hear a pin drop in the apartments because they are built thin. Be prepared to hear everything, from the water taps to the person screaming down a floor below. Overall, we did not feel safe here and would not stay here again. To the host's credit, she was extremely kind and responsive, and things like the appliances, kitchen, personal fridge, and building safety were high. We also didn't ask if there was heat, so maybe we just didn't turn it on. But pick somewhere close to the city center where you can get a better experience for the same price.
Easy access, enough space, clean
Nothing
There is an extreme smell as soon as you enter, fishy amonia and weird smell from the kitchen! No heigene, no sink to wash hands in the bathroom which is very tiny with someone who didn't even flush!
The neighbourhood is crazy dirty too, very scary and not a normal supermarket to even buy water nearby! I had to book another place immediately to escape! Had to pay for the airport transport and additional transport to the new acomodation.
Avoid this place its a waste of money and nonusable!

Felt unsafe in neighbourhood. Door to toilet/ bathroom didn’t lock. Bed sheets felt unclean. Difficult to communicate with host.
Lovely place, clean and comfortable, good communication and friendly staff.
