Pros:

breakfast buffet was well stocked with a good variety of food and drinks.
pool was nice, great pool staff who provided a floaty tube for our child. overall excellent staff.
room was pretty standard, nothing special but in general it was good.

Cons:

Bathroom tub drained very slow.

Thought hotel was 5 star...more like 3 star
Pros:

Executive Lounge was excellent, friendly staff and food and drink offered were very good. Was the only saving grace during our stay

Cons:

Loud music from rock concert on hotel grounds...unable to sit by pool. Total lack of empathy from staff and told lies as to when the concert would end and many guests wanted to speak to manager but he seemed to have disappeared for the day! Arranged for late check-out from hotel at reception and the day of check staff came to tell us to leave befire the agreed time. Totel lack of proper management of the hotel. Food in Chinses restaurant below accepetable level..even serving staff were shocked

Pros:

Open space good sized rooms

Cons:

Cold food, the chafing dishes were not switched on and if on were frequently left open so some 80% of what should have been hot food was cold

2 night stay before flying back home
Pros:

It is a very big hotel with a good sized pool, several restaurants and a big gym. The room was comfortable and a decent size. The price was fine. Breakfast was a buffet with a good spread.

Cons:

The initial room was above the open air bar area for a party/wedding so we got moved to a quieter room but even there around midnight we could hear noise. On that side we could hear other noise in the morning. Location is close to Galle Face but still quite a walk if you don’t have a driver and nothing near the hotel. The pool area is nice but it did smell of sewage - this may be the lake / canal.
