Alles neu renoviert, sehr geräumig und sauber. Das Zimmer war zweckmässig eingerichtet und das Bett war sehr bequem. Urnäsch ist top für verschiedenste Ausflugsziele ob mit Zug oder Auto (Seealpsee, Waldegg, Appenzell, etc.).

Cons:

Terasse war nicht wie beschrieben vorhanden und die Bergaussicht aus unserem Zimmer war auch nur mit viel phantasie vorhanden😁.

Etape dans un village très authentique avec plein de charme.
Pros:

Très bel hôtel rénové avec beaucoup de goût dans une maison Appenzelloise typique. Super emplacement sur la place du village, attenant au très charmant musée sur les coutumes locales. Belles possibilités de ballades.

Cons:

Self-checking par le biais d'un automate. Un peu surprenant dans cet endroit idyllique, surtout que le personnel était fort sympathique.

The place is very clean and the breakfast is simple but nice.

Cons:

It is located right next to the church where the bells go off hourly, and at some hours they go for many minutes. Bring earplugs!

I was also located on the top floor single room, so I'd have to walk down a level to use the bathroom and shower.

Cons:

Shower set up may become a bit of a problem for the hotel and staff as the facility gets older. Current design is very well meant but a shower door (opening inwards) should be installed to prevent water spraying on to tiles and (especially) the beautiful wooden floor.

Outside of not sleeping because of the bells, the hotel itself is more than fine.
Pros:

Good location for traveling purposes, pretty views, newly refurbished rooms, easy check-in, breakfast was fine. All of that said, SEE BELOW.

Cons:

THE CHURCH BELLS. BE ADVISED. This part of Switzerland, at least this town / area, has the bells going ALL DAY AND NIGHT. In other words, every 15 minutes the bells ring, and on the hour, they ring to correspond the time of day (so 10 chimes at 10 am and 10 pm). If you are a light or even moderate sleeper, YOU WILL NOT SLEEP. This property is DIRECTLY across from the church.
