Pleasant small town hotel
Pros:

Lovely & welcoming staff at reception. Free parking out the back which was handy to our room.

Clean, comfortable room. Well-maintained rooms for an older hotel and with a nice balcony and view to historic buildings, shops & train watching.
Only 300 metres from the beach.
(A nice place for a stroll before dinner)

The downstairs restaurant makes really nice food. Very tasty and healthy options.
We would stay here again.

Theoretically ideal, but lots of small aspects which overall added up to a disappointing stay.
Pros:

Theoretically a good 'charming' location with a quaint little 'village' atmosphere

Cons:

Firstly did not appreciate the lack of 'manager on site' ("as our restaurant is closed on Mondays"). Sited besides a railway level crossing - noisy!. Restaurant was closed as were all other 'food outlets' opposite, so had to drive to find somewhere to eat (after having driven all day). The large windows looked straight across to accomodation on other side of road, so had to draw curtains for any privacy. Night was humid, would have appreciated some a/c. Could not get the spa to work!

Pros:

Tidy and clean and very helpful and friendly staff. I left my computer mouse there and had to phone to see if could be sent on to me. It was a Friday and I had it back on the Monday...I am very appreciative of the extra effort from staff to get that sent. I will stay here again if/when i am next in the area for work.

Pros:

Location, staff, Also the restaurant food was wonderful. Great views from front rooms. Awesome spar bath

Rooms at the front 1st floor really do require air conditioning. Train line close but not noisy.
