Welcome at reception very warm and checked in efficiently. Room looked almost new and had everything you need for an overnight stay.
Dinner was first class - food hot and very delicious. All cooked to perfection and served in good time. Waitress was knowledgeable, friendly and efficient.
Great breakfast with an extensive cooked menu. Good buffet selection - though quite standard.
Lovely big dining room, light and airy. Relaxed ambiance.
Only issues were at breakfast:
The full English appeared to have stood for a time before it was served to us - it was not freshly cooked.Bacon was tough,
it was obvious poached egg had sat and food items were not properly hot.
We waited quite a time between having our cold buffet selection and the waitress coming to take our order for the mains - in fact, my sister-in-law had to go up to staff to request that.
From check in to check out, everything was excellent.
There wasn’t anything not to like.
The apartment concept was perfect for us
Room too hot on first night but the hotel resolved the issue for us
Gorgeous hotel with very friendly and helpful staff. Rooms modern and well equipped. Food excellent.

Lovely staff, beautiful room, great location, breakfast was great.
A personal preference but the mattress was quite firm for us, possibly because it is relatively new.
Impeccable in EVERY department! From reception to departure all staff worked well to give us a memorable o/ night stay.
A very hard question! Being REALLY picky and trivial,I had trouble unscrewing the honey Jar at breakfast! 🥺
The staff were incredible, the room was beautiful and the view was amazing. Lying in bed watching the sun rise over Alnwick castle was a stunning start to the day!

Great location fantastic hotel
A very new, very high quality hotel. The staff can't do enough for you.
Perfect location, right next to Alnwick Castle, running routes, cafes and walking trails. Felt that the price for breakfast was a little pricy so made alternative plans. Would have liked if you needed to scan room key to access different floors as felt anyone from the outside could access the hotel and roam around freely.
Great sized room and bathroom, tasty breakfasts, professional staff and lots of "added value" touches (eg some complimentary dog biscuits, beds etc) gave the Bailiffgate a delightfully premium feel. The decor is well done and the building feels fresh.
What wasn't clear when I booked the stay was the £30 per dog initial fee, then £25 per night per dog after this. It should really be crystal clear on the description - in our case this added on a good chunk of extra money to the initial booking, and I'm not really sure why the cleaning fee is extra per night rather than a one-off - it's not like we don't expect and tolerate a bit of dog hair whilst we're in the room.
The breakfast fee isn't clear, either. The listing suggests that it's £20 per person if you don't book the room with breakfast, but in reality it was £25, plus a service fee!
Whilst I was happy with the amount paid up front, then, I was a bit annoyed by these slightly disguised charges.
It would be good if there was a cheap, slow electric charger in the car park rather than the expensive one... but this is just an observation, not a gripe.
The Bailiffgate is a lovely smaller hotel offering a friendly and personal service. At all times we were made to feel very welcome. Our room overlooking the courtyard was extremely quiet and comfortable, but possibly more drawer space would be appreciated. The dining room was modern yet sympathetic to its location opposite the castle. Both breakfast and dinner were of an exceptional standard. This was our first visit to the Bailiffgate but we hope to return in the near future.
Comfort, good food and welcoming staff from the moment we arrived. Toured the world last year and experienced nothing better.
Nothing.
Location was brilliant ideal to tour the area
Very little really, perhaps the menu could have been a little more traditional 🤔
