Perfect location
Pros:

The location was excellent. Just 5 minute walk to Meguro River which was magical during the blossom period. There was a great selection of restaurants and cafes nearby. The staff were very helpful and friendly.

Extremely unsafe and filthy – beware!!!

We did not proceed with check-in at Meguroholic Hotel due to the immediate concerns we encountered upon arrival. However, it is important to note that we were physically present at the property and our passports were checked by staff before we made the decision to leave. Despite this, the hotel is now claiming that we were not present at check-in, which is simply not true.

From the moment we entered the property, we were hit with an overwhelming smell of cigarettes mixed with a musty, mold-like odor. This alone made the environment feel unclean and uncomfortable.

The hotel also shares the building with a nightclub with live music (photo attached), which added to the uneasy atmosphere.

Additionally, the bathroom stall located below the reception area was wooden, visibly unclean, and offered little to no privacy. It left us feeling uncomfortable and unsafe.

Another major concern was that the hotel openly advertises short “day-use” rates at the front (outside of the building), similar to what is typically associated with love hotels (see attached photo). This, combined with the overall setting, reinforced our suspicion about the nature of the property and made us even more uncomfortable.

What was particularly frustrating was how the situation was handled.

When we decided not to check in and leave, the two male staff members at the front desk appeared completely disinterested. They simply handed back our luggage without asking any questions or attempting to address our concerns.

We raised these issues and requested a refund through Booking.com immediately. However, instead of being taken seriously, we were repeatedly passed back and forth between the hotel and Booking.com without any resolution.

The situation has been made worse by the hotel now denying that we were even present, despite having checked our passports.

Pros:

11時台のすごく遅い時間のチェックインでしたが、親切に対応してくださいました。
朝食も美味しかったです。
内装もオシャレで気持ちよく過ごせました。

Cons:

洗面台へ向かうスライド式の扉が、しっかり閉めないと勝手に開いてきちゃったり
入口の二重のドアの部屋側のドアがたてつけが悪いのか閉まらないのが気になりました。

An O.K. place as backup plan but too pricey for what it is.
Pros:

Great location. Close proximity to subway station, loads of good restaurants nearby, close to river walk.

Cons:

Room was a bit rundown. Scuffs on walls, stains. Not as clean as hoped. The shower has a pretty strong off smell coming out of drain.

Great location, skip the breakfast
Pros:

Great location. Like most hotels in this price class, the rooms are small. Lots of good restaurants in the area for all meals. While the breakfast was adequate, I wouldn't pay extra for it. Go out and find breakfast on your own and experience life in Tokyo. We had a great Japanese take on bagels at Mugi Bagels nearby.
