Fine, although a 3D maze to your room!
Pros:

Location is great in the heart Shoreditch action, my second time staying there and no town rooms set to be the same. Black cat offers a bonus welcome.

Cons:

The layout of the building is a confusing warren and it would help if they provided directions to the room. My accommodation was split level at the top of the building and navigating from bed to bathroom required some gymnastics over beams and some steep steps.

I've stayed here quite a few times now and really like this place overall - usually great value for money, central shoreditch location, well-equipped and comfortable rooms. Will stay again.

Cons:

Its luck of the draw with this place as the rooms are all random shapes and sizes & its a bit of a maze. A lot of facilities squeezed into a tiny space (all rooms are different), sometimes in a rather DIY badly-designed way (eg coat rack in front of the TV or a sink that wont fit a plate, skirting board not attached etc). The windows (in some rooms) are large & single-glazed, and dont close properly, so it can be cold and very noisy on the street-facing rooms, meaning not a good sleep sometimes.

Great value for money... clean, safe and fantastic location.
Pros:

The Berkley Apartments were a real find. You're never quite sure when booking non-chain accommodation but the apartment exceeded my expectations in every way. It was immaculately clean, had everything that I needed and was great value for money. The location is perfect for exploring Shoreditch and beyond with the Old Street Tube station just a couple of minutes walk away. The area boasts loads of bars and restaurants, one of the best Kebab houses I have been to (City Best Mangal) as well as a small Sainsbury close by for necessities. The staff (and hotel cat) were friendly and efficient. I would definitely stay again.
