The room was fabulous. Big bed and bathroom and we loved the cozy the balcony, incredible view and useful kitchenette.
Not much to fault.
Beautiful location right on the Belmount
Beautiful bones and gingerbread- linens and fluffy extras could be improved
Location, room & friendliness
It was a nice an clean place an I love how it’s closed to the water.
It’s a nice place.
Great waterfront location
Nothing
This IS the spot to stay on Bequia, literally a few minutes walk from the ferry from St Vincent, on flat ground! (This is a hilly island!) Despite the close proximity to the tiny port, the water in front of the hotel is crystal clear and not too deep, perfect for regular refreshing swims literally a minute away from the room. There are neighbouring restaurants and bars - also on the waterfront which are very practical - only being very low season during our stay we weren’t able to experience as most were closed. This made for a very peaceful, idyllic stay which suited us perfectfully. Thank you Gretel, the manager, for your kindness in upgrading us & offering a late checkout (as availability allowed). Definitely would recommend Gingerbread hotel!
We booked 3 rooms for our stay. All were facing the sea and were just gorgeous. Very spacious and just a short walk from the ferry terminal.
The room (and bathroom) is very spacious. The balcony was my favorite part -- the view of the marina in the morning can't be beat. Strong AC + mosquito net were very useful (and bug zapper).
Also very close to restaurants, and not a bad walk to Princess Margaret Beach / the ferry. Management was very prompt in responding to requests and gave good recommendations for activities in the area.
Part of the bathroom needed attention upon my arrival and new bedsheets, and when I alerted Management, it was responded to in good timing and resolved the next day. Also it's not entirely clear how to access reception walking from the ferry, so I felt lost (and hot and sweaty from the uphill walk!) -- but you enter in the back at 'Guest Access'.
The most irritable part of the trip had nothing to do with the accommodations but more had to do with credit card payment issues -- I was out and about and contacted in excess (via phone, text, and platform escalation) regarding the need for resolution. On such a short visit (2 nights), truthfully, it stained my experience a bit.
Ultimately, it was a system update issue, and I paid directly at the office when I returned to the property that night. Didn't love being told that if payment was not resolved ASAP, I would need to leave -- that felt rude.
I would advise Management to make sure that payment is resolved same-day as check in vs expecting a guest to come back to their office on their timeline the next day (I was beach liming for goodness sakes!). That will reduce the seeming fear they had that I, or anyone in the future, would 'run out on the check' or something.
Also would have been nice for the price of the room to have a bottle of water at check in.
Perfect location with great amenities. Friendly, helpful management willing to go the extra mile to make for a perfect get away.
The view, the terrace, the location and the bed (both design and confort) are wonderful.
Kitchen and bathrooms are old-fashioned for such a expensive accommodation. Also surprised that such expensive accommodation does not even include or provide breakfast. To the price of Booking, I needed to add more than 100 USD of VAT, service charge and other things, so, read attentively all the conditions. The room is very spacious and nice but extremely noisy when it rains due to the metal roof. Also do not be surprised to be atacked by hundreds of mosquitos (which did not happen so much to me in other parts of Bequia).
The location was great. Walking distances from the port, restaurants and bars and the beach.
Rooms were a nice size with everything we needed as well as a balcony with a view.
One of the kitchen cupboard doors didn't close properly and the mirror in the bathroom was a little rusty and in need of replacing, but nothing major.
