The location was great for a retreat from the busy cities in South-east Asia. We enjoyed the pool and were able to cheaply hire some bikes and cycle round some of the island. The staff were nice when present. Overall, would stay again.
Staff often not present at pool bar or reception.
For us, as we did not research the area properly, there was too little to do in the area. There is also less selection in the restaurant department than we expected.
Staff extremely friendly and the location has a view on the river. We loved to stay here and we hoped to stay longer. The dinner was also excellent. Thank you for having us!
The lady looking after the property was just lovely so helpful & charming
Big wooden decks with no plats or greenery to break it
One of the reasons we chose to stay here was because we have a two-year-old and are vegetarians. The other hotels and homestays in 4000 islands didn't seem as easy for getting customized food. During our stay here, every one of our meals was delicious and made just the way we wanted. And the view we had each time was inspiring and almost luxurious. Having a small child makes traveling difficult, so we didn't want to stay in one of the backpacker hotels. And so happy we found this hotel. The pool is large, clean, and very private. The staff opened the pool for us even when we wanted to take a night swim.
I can't think of the Senesothxuene Hotel without mentioning the two large 100+ year old trees that cover the front of the property. My wife is somewhat spiritual and has studied Buddhism for many years. Our first day there, she came rushing over to me, telling me she felt something powerful just looking at the tree's and focusing on them. I found it very enchanting that she felt that way. But I didn't take it too seriously. And then, on the last day of our trip, I was outside on the deck staring at the trees, and it happened to me too. It was a feeling of connection.
What started as a visa run, turned into an unforgettable trip. We'll definitely be back, Mr. Phet! Thank you.
Lovely property with very friendly and helpful staff
Bathroom a bit tired
Lovely hotel, ideally situated very close to Mekong River and to the village centre.
We had a beautiful, huge room with a great view of the garden and river. Comfy bed, bathroom with really hot water.
Very tasty meals (we had dinner and breakfast) that you can take in the beautiful garden or on a little terrace right beside Mekong River.
Very friendly and helpful staff.
We loved the large, clean swimming pool; beach towels and leisure chaires are provided.
The morning market on the edge of the village is very special and we highly recommend to go there as early as 6 am.
Our room's A/C was very loud. We got a fan instead which we appreciated a lot.
Unfortunately our stay coincided with the annual boat festival which is chaotic and incredibly noisy so it’s hard to review the place impartially as our stay was not comfortable or pleasant due to the noise. The hotel is in a good position on the waterfront and near lots of restaurants. The bedroom was a good size.
It’s all a bit run down and it feels like it needs a big overhaul. The bathroom was a bit grotty and smelly. Ultimately it is overpriced. I’ve been in Laos a month and this place is way too expensive for what it offers. Compared to other places I’ve stayed it should be half this price.
Location was superb, overlooking the Mekong River.
A beautiful setting, comfortable rooms and delicious food. Friendly, helpful staff.
Loved it all! Setti g, food, bikes and staff.
A great place with more than wonderful staff who are really helpfull
All the friendliness could not prevent the poor value for money. The room is neat but the price per night is too high. The pool has no sun beds and the chambers (and pool) need renovation. But again the staff and manager make up for (almost) everything.
The staff we exceptional! Very friendly and kind. This is a family run business in a small community, so I felt welcomed in a very personal way. The staff can arrange trips, transfers, bike and scooter rentals. It was all very easy. Also the location is excellent - right on the Mekong. Sunrises are spectacular here.
The facilities are a little warn but I know this is due to the devastating hit this tourism area took during covid. Hopefully, as tourism returns they will have funds to do a few repairs.
