Just as described but if you aren't keen on dogs, not for you! And shared bathroom which is OK for 1
Pros:

Lovely room in itself, lovely view. Comfy bed.

Cons:

We knew about the dogs and they were very well behaved but we wouldn't go back as the doggy aroma was strong (probably because of the heat). Also a door kept banging during the night and we couldn't work out what was going on. The hosts gave us free reign of the kitchen etc but we didn't feel comfortable. That's just us, though.

Great for a shared accommodation
Pros:

Spectacular view from the bedroom. Comfortable bed and good room size. Lovely shower in shared bathroom. Able to use the fridge (and rest of kitchen though I only used the kettle and fridge!) Friendly couple, keen to accommodate guests and ensure that you're comfortable.

Cons:

The dogs bark for any visitor and when let out of their enclosed space crowd round, jump up and lick. They are quiet over night though and often contained with a gate over the living area in the day. Understandably some dog hair around though you can tell they work hard to hoover frequently.

The most horrible, rude and unhelpful host I ever met in a stinking dog-sty! Don't go there!
Pros:

Nothing. The host was very unkind from the start and in the end asked me to leave his house! Unbelievable rude, he was!

Cons:

The fact that When I arrived at seven p.m. after more than 60 miles of cycling, the host was angry that I arrived "too early" . He still had to clean my room and make my bed. He didn't allow me to put my e-bike in the garage and asked me to carry it all alone 20 steps of two stairs. When I asked him to help me, he said it was " your problem". Also , the whole house stank of more than twelve little dogs and the view from my room was not with the promised sea-view, neither with the balcony from the pictures. And absolute, disaster, that's what it was!

Pros:

Evan was lovely. Bed sheets comfy. Nice view. Bedroom clean

Cons:

Kitchen was very dirty and lounge wasn't a usable space as the dogs were all there. (When i was checking out Jane was cleaning the kitchen - she'd been gone for a month and only returned the night before I left)
I love dogs but unfortunately the smell of 8ish dogs was overwhelming - I had to leave my bedroom window open at all times
Unfortunately I did wish I could have cancelled after checking in - would have been cheaper for me to have booked a hotel with ensuite but thought the pictures looked very nice.
No locks on the doors - Evan did explain with it being a family home, he would have a spare key so it would defeat the point. My only note on that is the spare key would be more for personal safety regarding other travellers there and to ensure personal belongings were safe when others were coming in and out.

Hmmmm
Pros:

The cleanliness and comfort of the room and bathroom, the wonderful view. The host was friendly. The many dogs were no bother.

Cons:

I was surprised to find that the b&b seems to be run by a single man - I had expected a couple.
I was rather disturbed to find that my bedroom did not have a lock on the door. Being a single women I am aware of safety so I suggest that that is remedied as soon as possible.

I’m pleased I chose this place for my short one-night stay
Pros:

The host was charming and we had a good chat over a very nice cup of coffee shortly before I was on my way.

Cons:

I was only staying for a night and it suited my purposes perfectly but for a longer stay I’d want to be more central.

Too Many Dogs
Pros:

There was a big comfortable bed and it was warm.

Cons:

The smell and the noise. There were many, many dogs - maybe 12 adults and at least as many puppies that were apparently just coming up to 10 weeks old. The combination of doggy smell (and possibly dog poo? - I may be maligning them) and then the powerful air-freshener / room scent smell trying to cover it was almost overpowering. The excited yapping of all the dogs every time anybody opened a door into the central living ares meant that you couldn't hear any conversation.
I love dogs but I couldn't wait to escape the smell.

Reservation confirmed and paid, but no room was available on arrival.
Cons:

Very disappointing and stressful experience.

I paid for a room for March 3rd through Booking.com. When I arrived at the property around 8:00 pm, the owner, Evan, told me that the room was no longer available because it had already been rented to someone else. He said it was a problem with Booking.com.

However, I had already paid and my reservation had been confirmed. Evan told me that he would resolve the situation once we left, but that never happened.

Booking.com tried several times to contact Evan to solve the issue, but he never responded to them. As of today, I still have not received my money back and I never received the room I paid for.

Because of this situation, I was left with nowhere to stay that night. The M5 motorway was closed due to an accident and all hotels in Portishead were fully booked, so I had no other option but to spend the night sleeping in my car.

This was extremely stressful and unacceptable. When guests pay for a confirmed reservation, the accommodation should honor it or at least help find a solution. Unfortunately, that did not happen.

For this reason, I cannot recommend this place.
