Interesting concept but would not recommend
Pros:

Interesting concept in terms of rooms and outdoor feel to bathroom.

Cons:

It didn’t feel very clean. The location was further from the airport than we thought.

This is a very special place !!
Pros:

The moment we entered this wonderful calm and welcoming hotel we felt we had made the right choice of where to stay .

Cons:

Not only the fact you had to place your order for food ahead of time but that you had to specify when exactly you wanted breakfast . Sometimes hard to know the night before .

Great place to spend last two nights
Pros:

Food is excellent, staff cheerful, great room and bathroom in the Elephant Villa.
Snake in the bathroom was dealt with efficiently, though it took 6 staff but all cheerfully and snake let outside to live, so all ended well.

Cons:

Staff need to be taught that certainly when the company make a lot of and try to up sell romantic this and romantic that, please teach staff that both partners want the main meal brought out at the same time, not so romantic when one’s almost finished before the other is even served. I did make sure this was rectified on our second night.
Cocktails not so good, some warm with no ice, sometimes 45 minutes to arrive.
Taxi to airport sorted by the hotel is £37.50 for the 20 minute trip, you don’t have to use their recommendation, it’s convenient but more than twice the normal price I think.

Pros:

We liked everything. We especially loved having a private pool. Since our flight was early in the morning, they prepared a takeaway breakfast for us, which we really appreciated.

Si nous avions su, nous serions restées au moins deux nuits, avant de repartir du pays.
Pros:

Plus qu'une chambre : une villa ! 2 Très grandes chambres, 2 très grandes salles de douche, piscine privée. Moustiquaires installées : tout était parfait.

Wonderful place and people
Pros:

Absolutely charming and beautifully designed and furnished villas set on the river near Negombo. Very friendly and attentive staff and owner. We would have loved to stay longer and can’t wait to return.
