Excellent location and wholesome food, quiet countryside and birdsong.
Pros:

Hawkwood is in a beautiful location with far reaching views, wildlife, birdsong and woodland walks from the door. The wholesome food and gentle ambiance was a real delight. I had also booked a workshop in Hawkwood the following day so it was very convenient for me to be able to stay and attend the workshop.

Cons:

I enjoyed all Hawkwood had to offer. The weather too was kind.

Preis-Leistungsverhältnis hinterlässt uns mit einem unguten Gefühl

Die Lage ist sehr schön und ruhig und das Anwesen selbst ist sehr schön, auch wenn es bessere Tage gesehen hat.

Cons:

Wir waren wirklich ärgerlich, dass wir nur 3 Einzelzimmer buchen konnten, obwohl wir ein DZ und 1 EZ gebraucht hätten. Wir bekamen dann 3 DZ, hatten also zu dritt 6 Betten und mussten für alle 3 Zimmer zahlen, obwohl wir diese nicht gebraucht haben. An der Rezeption war die zuständige Dame erst länger nicht anzutreffen (1,5 Tage) und dann wirklich nicht kundenorientiert. Das war alles sicherlich "regelkonform" aber nicht kundenorientiert. Die Preise sind m.E. gehoben, Ausstattung und Service aber wie in einer Jugendherberge. Die Dusche war so heiß, dass man sie nur ganz kurz verwenden konnte und lies sich die ganze Nacht nicht ausstellen. Ein paar Mitarbeiterinnen waren nett und bemüht, andere nicht. Die ganze Situation gab uns das Gefühl, nicht willkommen zu sein, und Preis / Leistung hat für uns überhaupt nicht zusammen gepasst. Schade, an so einem schönen Ort wäre eindeutig mehr möglich.

Hidden gem of a stay, ideal retreat or base for the Cotswolds
Pros:

A hidden quirky gem of a stay. Imagine being sent back in time to stay with posh relatives in the country. Communal rooms for dining and socialising with afternoon cakes and fruit to help yourself. I spent hours chatting to fellow guests in the library and dining room. Superb grounds and views with lots of parking. An intrepid walk through the grounds into Stroud. Odd little bedroom reminicent of boarding school.

Cons:

Shared bath rooms.

No tea making facilities in the room, just in the dining hall but this made for socialising in the main rooms, oddly a pleasure.

A rare find these days. It's off the beaten track but has everything you need.
Pros:

If you want a calm place to spend the night with great countryside nearby, this is a good spot to be.
The staff are excellent, super friendly and you have everything you need. My stay was work related but i'd visit again given the opportunity for a pleasure.

Cons:

Nothing to dislike. If you need to use your electronic devices, there is Wifi but in my case it almost seemed a shame give the peaceful non intrusive environment i was in.

Very good
Pros:

Peaceful. Beautiful large cotswold country estate.
The facilities are good for a elderly house.
It is a college as well. Also has an alternative complimentary aspect.
If you are looking for exceptional countryside....this is the place for example, meditation.
