This was our first time staying at the Millenium Bridge hotel, but it won't be the last! The hotel is easy to get to and has a large car park.
The staff were all friendly and helpful.
The room was clean and had everything you need, the only slight complaint being the low water pressure in the bathroom.
The breakfasts are made to ordet and are excellent!
Within easy walking distance from the city centre, this hotel is definitely great value for money!
We have stayed at this hotel on many occasions over a ten year period. Great location with good parking. We had an evening meal and breakfast during this 3 night stay. Both were lovely - and great value with the meal deal offer. Five star service from reception and restaurant staff. Nothing to criticise.
We had such a lovely stay at Millennium Bridge. From the moment we arrived,to breakfast the next morning, Ellie greeted us with the biggest smile—she was always cheerful and made us feel so welcome. Paul was equally fantastic, offering genuine care and attention that really stood out.
It’s rare to meet staff who make you feel like more than just a guest, but Ellie and Paul truly did. Their kindness and great service turned our trip into something memorable. We left feeling grateful and happy, and we’ll definitely be coming back thanks to them.
We have stayed in the hotel many times. The rooms are spacious and the beds so comfortable. However it is the staff that make this hotel so brilliant. Nothing is too much trouble for them. It’s always a pleasure and never disappoints. Would highly recommend.
Easy to reach by road and parking great. Location for city centre great, just a short walk along the interesting quayside. Staff welcome was lovely. Room clean and comfortable
I stayed here for a wedding with my partner and the room was clean and staff were lovely. Callum on the bar was super lovely am so welcoming to all of us. He provided top quality service and was so chatty. Really appreciated him serving us - 100% great customer service from him!
A great location to explore Newcastle’s city centre without being in the thick of it.
The city centre is only 20 minutes walk away
Whilst parking charges applied, the hotel car park was reasonably secure and very convenient.
The hotel itself is a bit tired and in need of some TLC but this was more than compensated for by the quality and attitudes of the staff there who were outstanding.
Everyone had time to have a quick chat and be helpful. Simply can’t fault them. From reception, to cleaning, to bar and food service, all the staff were professional, cheery and helpful.
The on site restaurant was absolutely fine. Ate here a couple of times and enjoyed both evening meal and breakfast.
A standout team member was Callum who took an interest in our visit and offered some great advice about the local area.
However I think the staff deserve a better hotel to work in.
We had several burn or scorch marks on our bedroom carpet.
The bed was ready for a refresh.
The water pressure in our second floor room was poor - the sink tap only managed a trickle.
None of these were major issues but if you like a moan, these would have fitted the bill.
Overall, an average hotel lifted by really great staff. Even with the room defects we really enjoyed our stay at this hotel and our time in Newcastle.
Had a really good stay. Paul and Gemma on reception were so helpful, polite and friendly. Great experience overall - I’ll definitely come back!
Brilliant staff at this hotel, very professional, polite and helpful, they are a real credit to the company. Over accommodation is at the usual standards, they only slight down side was a number of items missing from the menu in the restaurant but thats not really a big deal.
Unfortunately the room was just too hot and stuffy to sleep - a constant 23 degrees throughout the night. Whilst we understood the hotel did not have air conditioning and totally happy with this - after all who needs air con in October??!!. However we were shocked at the complete inability to turn the heating off. Who sleeps with the heating on all night??!!. We went down to reception at 3.00 am to ask if it could be turned off and they supplied fans but our sleep was already nonexistent at this stage. Unfortunately premier inn does not honour the ‘sleep good guarantee’ on the basis of a ‘too warm’ room with hotels not fitted with air conditioning. I disagree - a room should not be heated at all during the night - it will then naturally come down to a comfortable temperature. Overall this hotel is in a great location - ideal for the water front and visiting our daughter at Uni but is very tired and in need of refurbishment. Such a shame , despite location, we absolutely would not book again! Very disappointed in the customer service fob off and acceptance that 23 degrees is an ideal temperature for sleep. Probably one of our worst premier inn stays.
I had a bit of a rocky start to my stay with some issues at check-in and with the room, which was frustrating at first. However, the grey‑haired gentleman on the desk was fantastic—he stepped in straight away, handled everything quickly and professionally, and really turned the situation around. Thanks to his help, what could have been a stressful experience ended up being smooth and stress‑free. All the tem i encounterd were really great thank you all.
As a bonus, parking was free during my stay because the machine wasn’t working, which was a nice surprise. Overall, despite the initial hiccup, the service made all the difference and left me with a positive impression. Will return thanks to all the team
Clean hotel but staff are run off their feet ( seems a common trait with Premier Inns these days ) . They are Jack of all trades , reception , bar , restaurants, etc .
Waited 25mins to be seated in restaurant, menu dropped in front of me , no drink orders taken . Half hour later still waiting for drink or food order to be taken. Noticed people sitting around who had been seated substantially before me and still hadn't been approached by restaurant staff so gave up , went back to room and ordered through Justeat
On way to collect my food , I could see those earlier customers still sitting at their tables without any food
Staff very friendly and helpful.
From check in to check out everything was fantastic. Friend to staff through the hotel on reception, restaurant and bar.
An excellent experience. Mathew was not only a pleasant & efficient receptionist, but a personable & efficient barman. At breakfast i was served with warmth, efficiency & a smile by Ellie.
Stayed over a weekend restaurant shut for 2 nights so after a long days work had to search for somewhere to eat in the evening. Fan in bathroom very loud, also very noisy lift. Noisy bedroom overlooking car park. Stains on chair and spare bed. Premier Inn standards have really dropped whilst cutting staff and putting their prices up.
Staff have been cut, service is poor as a result. The unfortunate staff tried their best but they can't be in three places at once.
Good location, reasonably priced parking. Breakfast was fine. All as expected and beds were comfortable too.
The family in the room above us were making a lot of noise and credit to the staff who dealt with the matter immediately on both occasions.
The hotel was clean and very friendly. Our breakfast host Alex was just the best. Friendly, kind and paid attention to everything. All the staff were courteous and helpful and made our stay thoroughly enjoyable. The hotel is close to the river and has enjoyable walks along the Tyne and to the city centre. The breakfast was excellent and a good start to the day. (A long day at Beamish)
A premier inn that feels as though it needs a big injection of money spent on it.
Staff were excellent - friendly and helpful however just not enough of them. There was a long wait for us at check with nobody at the desk. The couple in front of us rung the bell continuously for good while before somebody came and informed us that they were ‘on their own time’ so left us alone again to wait whilst they found somebody else. This staff member, however, was extremely helpful and friendly - as were the breakfast staff.
We explored Newcastle and decided at the last minute to watch the match at the hotel bar instead of at the local sports bar. Unfortunately upon arrival we found that the television in the restaurant didn’t work so had to go to our rooms to watch it.
Room 1 had stained bedding and room 2 had a bed that hadn’t been made at all.
Great location, easy parking, lovely staff. Could just do with a bit of money spent on some more staff, bar television fix and a deep clean of the fusty smelling carpets in the hallways.
The outside of the hotel looked very drab and needs refreshing. The car park is relatively small. On accessing the hotel, reception is up a level, either by stairs or a small lift. I was able to get into the lift with my wheelchair and luggage, however it was a snug fit!
After initial issues with check in (I didnt tick a box when booking for business) the staff were lovely and helpful. My accessible room was on the same level, just 3 doors to get through to my room. The doors were not automatic, and trying to juggle them, in my wheelchair, plus my luggage was tricky to say the least. The room was plenty big enough for me to park my chair in the corner out of the way. The room was adequate for a business trip, but if you plan on staying in your room more, I would advise against it! The TV was ok, relatively small for a larger room. A lot of the channels didnt work. The bathroom was clean and reasonable sized. The handrail was the length of the bath, but overhung so it made getting into and out of the bath a little difficult as the bar was in the way.
Wifi was patchy, you can pay if you need better service. I didnt. The wifi was slow and not suitable for working or downloading stuff. Was fine for a quick check on socials, checking emails and what to do in the area.
Overall, it is what you'd expect.
