The room and public areas were clean and well cared for. The staff I encountered were cheerful, helpful and efficient. The room had a bath - what bliss arriving late evening, oodles of hot water and a warm room. The hotel is the best value by far of those Edinburgh airport hotels I have stayed in. The downside was finding how to get there, but I found Edinburgh Black Cabs to be an excellent & efficient service
Sadly probably the most disappointing Premier Inn stay ever. We recognised that being so close to the flight path might prove difficult and it was. But the last departure was around 11pm. Unfortunately we then had to listen to banging and crashing from the room above us. There is virtually no sound proofing so rather than arriving for our morning flight refreshed, we were both shattered.
The hotel itself really is very tired and ready to be upgraded
This is an airport hotel with its own restaurant, so by default it should be suitable for business travellers. However, be warned; The restaurant requires pre-booking and operates a ridiculous system allowing only 3 slots every 15 min. Apparently due to only one single cook in the kitchen. Result: Arriving by air in the evening and looking for something to eat, but unfortunately the next available slot in the restaurant was 2 hours later, even though very few tables were in use! Not the kind of service you expect as a business traveller, or as any other kind of traveller for that matter.
How was the quality of the food you may ask? There’s room for improvement.
The hotel appeared understaffed, however, the available staff were friendly.
The restaurant and the room were quite cold, and the heating system in the room appeared not to have any effect other than making noise. The inventory in the room appeared tired and with a wobbly table.
There’s no shuttle bus from/to the airport, so you have to take a taxi. I waited 20 min. at the hotel for a taxi to the airport at 4:30 in the morning.
Great place to stay away from the city centre.Food is too dear and portions are quite small .
There is a car parking fee in case you decide to stay here.
We arrived after a really bad time returning from holiday. We were tired, misserable and just had enough. We were checked in almost midnight by a gentleman that was so friendly and helpful.. he kept the bar open so we could unwind and his collegue then followed suit and couldn't be nicer and more helpful. They were great with the kids, gave them treats, entertainment and even made them hot chocolate at half 1 in the morning! Such a nice change from the rubbish few days we'd had..
This hotel is ideal for buses in to the city centre that are on a regular basis, the bus information is located at reception. For the airport you need a taxi or walk 10-15 min to a different bus stop to the airport. The staff are friendly and clean rooms.
Unfortunately this is a review I never thought I would see myself writing for a stay at a Premier Inn. Edinburgh Airport Premier Inn is a good hotel, very conveniently located for us and is very clean, but this time I was not impressed with the location of our bedroom one bit. We had been travelling all day and only had a few hours to sleep before we had to be on our way again to travel back to Inner Hebridean island we live on. I was given a twin room (room 145, 15th October for 1 night) which was situated directly above the ventilation system for the hotel and all night, all I could hear was the constant drone of the ventilation system. Even my daughter (who could sleep through anything) commented on it. The ventilation shaft looked like it literally came straight out of the building directly under the bedroom. So much for the sleep promise...we never got a wink of sleep. Premier Inn's are my 'go-to' hotel each and every time I leave the island, but this was the worst night I have ever had in a Premier Inn. I wouldn't be surprised if more guests had complained about that room.
Fantastic stay late night check in made easier due to the fantastic customer service from the 2 night team members! Both went over and above.
Though the hotel was safe, predictable and comfortable, one should make sure to reserve to eat at the restaurant to avoid disappointment or a very late seating. Also, North Americans who are accustomed to a top sheet between them and the comforter/duvet, should know that there is none provided on the bed. Otherwise, comfortable and close to the airport.
Was staying there before going on holiday early next day. The hotel was quite busy. Once we arrived, I asked to book a table for dinner. However there was nothing available until 8:30pm. They told us they were expecting a large group and there wasnt enough staff on. Very disappointing as they must have seen there was a lot of people staying over. So we ended up over at McDonalds as we just couldnt wait until 9pm to be served our food. The bar was busy too with the barman (Scott) being the most scary guy ever. He definitely didn't seem happy and was rushed off his feet. This meant that the bar area was quite dirty with lots of glasses lying around. The price of drinks too was horrendous and extremely poor range of drinks too.
The room as usual was fine - the usual Premier Inn with still the most comfy beds. But, unfortunately we had to pay for parking for the night which seems unfair when you have paid to sleep there.
Last time we flew in May we stayed at the Travelodge at Ratho Station. Plenty of food and good choice of drinks and not too bad priced. Will be going back there the next time. They also do not charge for parking !
The staff here were excellent. Very helpful, friendly, knowledgeable and positive. Well organised. The room and building were clean and the beds were warm and comfortable. The location was much further than expected from the airport and taxi was costly.
It was a nice place at a good value.
Convenient location to the airport.
Rooms are tired, smelt of damp and can see visible damp in corner or room.
Room no.1 right next to service bins so very noisy with staff using them.
Room for the night, for early start but poor standards for the price paid.
I would like to recognize, the sweet, short haired, blonde woman at the front desk who served me my meal. The hostess in a red blazer was beyond rude Wednesday evening. She wouldn’t allow us to sit in the lobby restaurant when we came down to eat. We had to make a reservation she says. She booked us for 45 minutes later, 830pm. It was the end our honeymoon! We were having a great time until she made an assumption and was so rude. She completely ignored me as if somehow, I was something that I was not, I was young and dumb. She explained to me that her brother was the kitchen cook that evening, and she was so happy that He was Tending to Her in every way, when both should be meeting our needs as customers. I said oh said “I totally understand.” She replied “You will understand, when you are older and have children of your own” I replied,
“oh I’m 39 & I have a 5yr old.” She replies I am 39 & seemed to be surprised we were the same age. I then explained to her, the reason I say I hear you, is because I have two siblings are 14 yrs younger. When I told her I was a hair stylist and business owner of 20 years, she made more inappropriate comments referring to her gay best friend, which had nothing to do with our evening. My husband was so upset, he got up & left & later came back to get me out of the conversation. She was awful! I’ve never been more mistreated by someone I don’t even know. I hope this issue will be addressed so others will not have a similar experience.
Great staff, very helpful for directions for transportation to and from Edinburgh city.
The Premiere Inn Newbridge is located conveniently close to the airport, still a 20£ taxi fare. The room we received was large, designed for someone with a disability, even down to fall arrests and an alarm. Plenty of space, but lacks a fridge or microwave which would be nice as there are limited options for dining. The biggest recommendation for the hotel would be to have a person at night reception. We had an incident whereby we were leaving very early in the morning ( 6:00 am) and the occupants above our room were running and banging until 1:30 am keeping us awake. The noise was loud enough to shake the bed and to hear out in the hall. I went to see if someone at reception could ask them to keep the noise down, but could find no one. The lack of sleep made the next day’s travel harder.
everything was alright, we don’t have any complaint
I did not have a car, though my room looked out over the parking lot. Breakfast not included. Few amenities. No shampoo, no tissues, no water bottle in room, though bed comfortable.
Premier inn was good, let down by an unexpected extra cost for parking of £7.
When booking online my understanding was thst there was free parking, only to find signage showing parking costs.
We had an overnight stay to catch our plane. Very clean and comfy room. Good breakfast!
