We stay at premier inns quite often on our travels but this is one we will not stop at again. This is a little unfair really as there was nothing wrong with the actual hotel. The rooms were clean, modern and roomy. The staff were friendly and helpful, our problem was with The Brewers Fayre.
We booked a table earlier and when the time came we went and joined a queue at the desk to give our room number and get a table. They were so understaffed that we actually stood there for a good ten minutes before anyone came. We were then sent to a table by an ill fitting window on an exceptionally cold night and both felt very shivery and uncomfortable. The lack lustre staff did not try and find us anywhere else. I can somewhat understand their attitude as they were all under a lot of pressure as the staff numbers as aforementioned, were few. However, when you are dealing with the general public surely you should at least try to be helpful and cheerful.
Then our food came out, which was well below par. I ordered Katsu curry, it was the same chicken goujons as the starter, put on top of rice, with sauce and a few onions. It was obviously microwaved, the rice nearest the chicken was warm but underneath it was absolutely cold. My husband had cottage pie, which was burnt on the bottom. We are not moaners and as I said earlier, we stay at premiers quite often and have the meal deals but have never experienced anything quite like this before. I suppose if you are visiting Kings Lynn, I would suggest stay at the premier but find somewhere else to eat. I also suggest that more staff are employed in the Brewers Fayre and then perhaps there would be happier staff and customers that could experience customer satisfaction.
Pretty much what you would expect from Premier Inn: Clean, spacious comfortable room. Parking readily available in a substantial car park, with electric vehicle charging points on site. However, the Brewers Fayre where meals were served was well below par. There were clearly insufficient numbers of staff on shift, and although they did their best, they were clearly struggling. Delays in waiting for food items to be replenished at Breakfast, and both Coffee machines were either not working or needed to be refilled. The problems were exacerbated by non-residents also attending for breakfast, putting further pressure on the already stretched staff.
Visited in mid- November for a 3-day business trip.
Greeted by Dom on reception, who was a star throughout our stay - friendly and helpful, a credit to Premier Inn.
Had meal deals at the neighbouring Brewer’s Fayre. Evening meals were good, wide selection of food available, all good quality, generally good service. Breakfast was a bit regimented - got a bit fed up of being herded to particular seating areas in a large restaurant, seemingly just for the staff’s convenience. Breakfast selection generally good.
This was our third visit to this very conveniently located hotel. The next generation rooms are a noticeable improvement on an already good room design. We had one of the premier plus rooms, with a walk in shower bathroom and comfy lounge chairs as well as a very comfy bed. Really quiet and restful. Would strongly recommend a stay here.
One of the nicest Premier Inns I have stayed in. Quiet comfy room that looked to have been recently refurbished.
It is a little way from Kings Lynn centre but it's a nice walk along the bank of the Great OUse.
Bad point.
Lovely new rooms, following refurbishment but NO DESK just small round table. Most occupants midweek are workers who often need a desk to do reports etc.
Good points.
Great staff as normal.
Car parking free, unlike some Premier inns.
Proper pub and restaurant, not like the soulless Premier Inn restaurants.
All in all it does the job.
Keep the pub and restaurant and put back a decent table.
Nice place
I stayed over one night for a work trip in a premier plus room. The room was much bigger than I expected for a premier Inn and had everything I needed. I checked in via the screens so did not have much interaction with the staff as the check in area was quite busy, but I was very pleased with the room. Despite my good experience I would probably not have the breakfast again; this was at the brewers fayre opposite and was quite disappointing. Overall I really enjoyed my stay here and would return.
We use this hotel regularly, it is a great stop off point when driving into Norfolk or Suffolk and we will no doubt carry on using it. All Premier Inn disabled rooms are a good size for our wheelchair. This hotel has not been improved, though, by it's upgrade. Check in is was chaotic when we were there recently and very strangely they no longer have a plug in the washbasin. This is just in the disabled rooms, I was told. So if you want to wash at the basin in your disabled room you may want to purchase a universal plug before your visit here.
Friendly and Efficient Personnel - Excellent Service, a well designed and freshly decorated room and a very comfortable bed.
Did not like the restaurant set up. Not suitable for invalids or handicapped. Had to walk outside.
Comfortable, clean and conveniently located for us. Upgraded to Premier Plus room which was definitely worth it for us. We did not use the restaurant.
Been before nothing special one mile from train station
The basics were nit even working
2light bulb in bathroom and has no air-con but safe place
We had booked *eight rooms* in total and paid *£15 for an early check-in* for one of those rooms. Despite this, we were told to come back at *3:00 PM*. When we arrived at that time, there was already a *long queue of at least 30 people*, and the lobby was *uncomfortably hot*.
We had to *wait over 1.5 hours*, and even then our rooms were not ready. It took *another 30 minutes* before we could access them. This was incredibly frustrating and not the service we expect from Premier Inn.
We are *loyal customers* and usually enjoy our stays with Premier Inn. However, this experience was disappointing and unacceptable. We respectfully request *a refund for the early check-in fee* and *appropriate compensation* for the inconvenience experienced by our entire group.
Been to many Premier Inns. Here we stayed for four nights. Apart from the usual lovely bed, the Brewers Fayre staff were excellent. I can remember Clair, Gilly and I think Chloe who were exceptional. What I liked was that they were always looking for tables to clear, buffet to replenish and unfailing polite and friendly and worked together as a team. additionally, the hot food was hot!! All in all a very enjoyable experience for the four of us. Well done.
What lovely staff at this premier inn. All of them!! Not only was our stay so lovely, super clean, beds so comfy but I left my handbag there. Called expecting it to have disappeared like it has in the past, they found it, packaged it up for me to be collected by royal mail. So very grateful as it had my medication in there. Thanks again ❤️
So bad! Check in was a nightmare, we arrived at 3:20, the reception was packed with people, we tried to use the digital check in boards, it popped up "ops something went wrong" found a lady to help, she was very blazé and said "Just means your room isn't ready yet." We said, Erm we've just done a four hour drive, we have a taxi due to collect us at 4:45 and we both need to shower. She said "Queue over there we'll try and get you another room." 20 minutes later we finally got to the front of the queue, the lady then had a conversation with another member of staff (whilst we waited in front of her) took down our surname incorrectly (twice - she was clearly not concentrating) and then moved our room to one that was ready. Because our room had been swapped we weren't able to put our registration number into the parking board, she took down our reg and said she would do it "When I get five minutes". We left it with her. When we got back to the hotel at midnight and my husband said, lets just enter our reg now just to make sure. We put our reg into the board and it almost instantly sent me an email confirming our parking had been added - I hadn't received that email before so clearly the lady hadn't completed that process as she said she would (unsurprising as she wrote it on a post it note and the desk was a mess).
We had our evening meal in the brewers fayre next to hotel. For some reason I paid for our evening meal when I had a meal deal booked. I went to a member of staff who I think she was the manager, she wore glasses. It was no trouble for her refund me what I mistakenly paid out. She was extremely efficient and friendly which are two qualities I appreciate. Just wish I got her name. Brilliant service.
Very disappointed. No air con . Awful microwave food at the onsite pub and really difficult to get a taxi to and from there due to concerts held at the same time in Sandringham . Very dissatisfied and not with the cost
Good location and plenty of parking. The restaurant was fine, and there was a good deal for breakfast and dinner.
The hotel is split into two buildings, so make sure you let them know you want rooms in the same building if you are booking multiple rooms.
