I was not happy with this property at all. The hotel is very run down and in need of significant repairs. There was mold in the bathroom, and housekeeping was not done unless you specifically requested it. Even basic items like clean towels and toilet paper had to be asked for.
The only positive aspect of my stay was the front desk staff—they were super friendly and accommodating.
Overall, I was very disappointed that Expedia even lists this property on their site, as it does not meet acceptable standards.
staff were very welcoming and helpful. only concern was that there is a wet spot in the carpet close to the bathroom door. there might be water under bathroom flooring. i was out during the day but noticed i woke up during the night 3 times feeling “stuffed up” and i expect there will be mould found under both carpet and flooring.
i experience difficulties with mould so i am confident with my prediction of mould being present. i will not book a stay there again
Very tired hotel now.
Rooms in need of a make over.
Cleaning needs to be improved
Heating in bedroom was broken but they did send a heater up to the room.
Generally it is fine, but poor handling of the fire alarm that made the customers waited under cold weather (outdoor) for 45 mins without doing anything (no announcement about what happened).
Bedroom lights wouldn't turn off without removing the key card. This meant you couldn't see if you needed the toilet in the night. No attempt was made to fix this during our stay and no effort to move us to another room.
Very nice and clean accommodation.
Comfortable bed
Friendly staff
Good parking
Easy check in and check out
Only flaw was the heating, I followed instructions and set the temperature to 20 degrees but woke up in the middle of the night and it was at 28 so had to open windows resulting is a waste of energy
Very disappointed with our visit to this hotel.
One week before we left we had an email
Informing us there would be building work at this hotel. There would be limited parking, noise from 8am and there could be scaffolding.
They did say there would be complimentary breakfast.
We were not happy to recieve this as we would never have booked the hotel knowing this. The email gave us an email address and phone number to contact Dunfermline.
We emailed immediately asking if due to the circumstances if we cancelled the booking would they refund our money. We got no reply.
As we didn’t want to lose the money we went to Dunfermline and it wasn’t good. There were only towels for one in the room. We only had 1 pillow each and a dirty duvet was stuffed under the bed. The breakfast next morning was gone by 7.45 ( the receptionist got us 1 banana). There was no breakfast on the second day, what we got then was a power cut. It is very difficult to wash and get dressed in the dark. All in all a horrible experience.
The saving grace for this place is the lovely girl on reception who really did her best in the circumstances.
Run down tired room, wifi none existent, mould in toilet, hole in curtain, sink plug and a towel missing, it’s a great location for Edinburgh but not worth the money anymore. Only thing that’s not changed is the staff, lovely friendly people
Shockingly bad, service was bad, waitress didn't really have any idea of what food was available. Made our order after being told a third of the menu wasn't available, so altered order only for her to come back about 10 minutes later to say we haven't got that. Surely she should have already known so ordered something else was surprised they actually had it. Drinks were almost nothing existent unless wanted alcohol, didn't really have any non alcoholic drinks as I don't drink. Service was shocking, staff were poorly advised and customer service was almost nonexistent. Won't be staying there again.
Staff were kind, attentive and thoughtful, especially Chelsey on the front desk. Huge, comfy bed. Clean warm room, ensuite was clean and well appointed. Lovely hot shower. Restaurant was excellent with kind staff and hot, tasty meals. Breakfast was hot with a wide choice of food to help yourself to. Evening meal was hot, tasty with lots of choice. Very impressed.
Really disappointing experience. Had requested reception to clean room, clear bins and change bed line before we left. Came back to see none of this was done. Bathroom bins room bins were not emptied. Bed linen and duvet covers were no changed. Bath sink were not cleaned. There were no toilet rolls filled. Please avoid this specific stay at all costs.
The room was very spacious, clean and cozy. The staff was also very good, helpful and informative.
The breakfast was very good. Check in service was outstanding. Discovered the kettle was broken at 11 pm and front desk replaced it right away. Very relaxing stay.
very poor stay everything closed at 9/10 oclock. so when out for the day and coming back to premier inn expecting something to eat and drink and nothing was available
My friend and I recently stayed for 3 nights, and we were greeted by the lovely chelsey, and her hospitality didn't stop there. Chelsey didn't just go above and beyond for us, she went out of her way to make us welcome and make our stay the best it could be. Absolutely brilliant member of staff.
And also john, who with minimal knowledge on my health condition (type 1 diabetes) helped me very much when I were suffering a hypoglycemia episode, john remained calm and fed me chocolate and juice, essentially saving my life. All in all, the staff here are amazing!
easy to check in/ out despite arriving late that evening! plenty free parking available and a lift is available to avoid dragging luggage up the stairs. hardly heard any other guests from our room and housekeeping were super friendly and helpful as and when needed. super comfy bed however room was consistently 25^c, ac only had heating options. bathroom had a large crack in the baseboards, black (mouldy?) markings on ceiling, and shower curtain did not reach both sides/ stay towards edges resulting in the floor being soaked. would stay again because most issues were minor and primarily used the room exclusively to sleep throughout the week!
If my mum had not paid in advance for our 2 rooms, we would have left.
The rooms where no way like the photos, scruffy unkempt.
The staff looked like they had yesterday's uniform on.
The outside of the restaurant looked like it was closed down the same goes for the interior.
The whole site needs closing down and deep cleaning this includes the staff.
I am well travelled and this is the worst hotel I have stayed in
Good stay in the Dunfermline Premier Inn: easily accessible from the main roads, very comfortable beds in a pleasant room. Nice breakfast the next day where special attention was paid to my daughter's coeliac needs.
Poor and worst Premier Inn I have ever stayed in. And I use them a lot throughout the country on a regular basis. Very disappointing and dissatisfying.
