Great short stay.
Pros:

Great short stay. Staff were great and hotel demonstrated the high quality I've come to expect at all Premier Inns. Without question, we would stay again.

Octoberfest
Pros:

Premier inn web site advertised that this hotel had restaurant and bar facilities. What they didn't say was that the restaurant and bar was closed on Friday, Saturday and Sunday after 11.00 am. There is no other restaurants and bars within walking distance, if I had know this I would not have booked. My sisters room stunk of cigarette smoke. We come up for 3 nights every October, I am sourcing different accommodation for next visit. On the plus side the staff were very good.

Worst premier inn ever......
Pros:

This is possibly the worst premier inn I have used.
Arrived Sunday evening to be told that I would have to pay for the room for two nights, despite this being booked by my company on the company credit card. I was then told that the restaurant was closed despite paying for the meal deal and provided with a slip of paper with local takeaways on it. Came down for breakfast at 10 .20 after working for most of the night, to find it locked. I spoke with reception who said I will look into it. I then spoke with their head office to be told 'sorry' there's not a lot else I can do. This evening went to restaurant for dinner before working, waited ten minutes to be seated in a virtually empty to be asked 'have I booked' I informed them that no opportunity was given to book, I was then informed that there was no availability till 20.00. At this point they decided to squeeze me in, ordered the vegan burger which was most definitely not as described in the menu so bad I took a photo. I complained they then offered to remake it with the items described on the menu. By this time I was running short of time so had to leave.
Exceptionally poor service in the hotel.
Total lack of restaurant.
Head office unhelpful and dismissive.
Please avoid this hotel at all costs.

Disabled people beware
Pros:

I phoned prior to booking this hotel, and told the gentleman that I was a double amputee, with the loss of my right arm from the shoulder and right leg below the knee, and that i needed a room close to reception, and a room that was suitable for my disability, I got a room half way down the hallway with no disability access

Great stay. Recommend to others
Pros:

Great place. Very reasonably sized rooms. Very spacious. Spotless condition. Bathroom was very clean and new (recently refurbished it looks like). Handy location to get to other places. Staff were very helpful, welcoming and accommodating. Reception has a cool fancy touch screen vending machine - never seen a cool one like it. Recommend to everyone.

Check restaurant before paying
Pros:

On site restaurant closed, bedroom dated and was ment to be premier plus damaged items everywhere, room temp above 28 constantly, no food available on site isolated location so have to travel after a long drive not ideal, less than 24 hours notice on advising restaurant closed, uncomfortable nights sleeps due to having to have windows open main road constant traffic and having curtains open to allow air ment noise all evening, and light , bathroom fixtures hanging off wall seal of shower moody and damaged seems like the room could do with an overhaul meant to be premier plus , would of rather stayed in Travelodge down road which has a fully functional restaurant

Premier inn Elgin
Pros:

We stayed here for one night whilst exploring Scotland.
The room temperature was fine. Not enough sockets near the beds. Beds comfy, brilliant location.
We didn’t stay for breakfast.
Our room was so far away from reception but thankfully in ground floor.
We visited loch Spynie, Brodie castle and Cawdor castle whilst in the area

Unpleasant stay
Pros:

I had 4 nights at this Premier Inn and had to address quite a few issues. Firstly, the restaurant and bar were closed, this was difficult as I was working alone in Elgin with no car and the hotel is over a mile away from the towns restaurants.
The grounds around the pub and hotel were very unsightly with litter, leaves and mainly McDonalds debris.
My room was 27 degrees all week as there is no air con throughout the hotel apparently. The fan simply distributed the hot air around. I slept very badly which was not conducive to working as an Early Years trainer every day in Elgin.
To top it all, I realised after 3 nights that the bites on my body were BED BUG bites. The staff were sympathetic but obviously not shocked. I moved rooms which was inconvenient but totally necessary.
I stay in Premier Inns all over the country but have never had an experience like this in the last 12 years. The staff were polite and helpful, I’m sorry that they have to work in such poor conditions.

Outside in car park needs a good clean and entrances need cleaned. Few outdoor floor pots etc would brighten it
Pros:

The hotel room itself was ok and nothing from the ordinary premier room. If you really looked you’d see stuff. Outside hotel and outside restaurant is terrible.

Great staff totally let down by Premier Inn owner, Whitbread.
Pros:

We had reserved a Premium room months ahead, but it was not available when we arrived. The reception staff were apologetic and offered us a reduced room rate for a standard room and free breakfast. As there was a local music festival there were very few (if any) alternatives...so we were effectively forced into accepting.
The outside of the adjacent 'restaurant' was appalling and looked as though it was shut...which it was for evening meals. There was just one member of front of house staff plus a cook for breakfasts and both were literally sweating trying to maintain a good level of customer service. Their efforts were the only reason I haven't scored the location as 1. Shame on Whitbread for expecting their staff to work in these conditions.

Premier inn elgin
Pros:

Like many other reviews I have to complain about the heat it was unbearable & fan that was supplied was not cooling room down and was very dusty so not gd option for an asthmatic. We stayed for 3 nights & had bkd breakfast as part of our stay which was not up to premier inn standards. The entrance to the restaurant was very off putting dirty and in need of a brush or hoover. Tables weren't cleaned due to lack of staff. Staff who were there were friendly & trying there best. Apart from rooms being like ovens they were badly in need of updating and maintenance. As a frequent premier inn customer I was very dissapointed as this was not up to the standard expected.

Great staff, good hotel, poor company.
Pros:

The staff are great but seem to be handicapped by Whitbread. The welcome was great. The restaurant issue was explained and is understandable. They seem to be short staffed, as housekeeping was still working at 8pm... The room was comfortable, but air con would be helpful. The thermostat read 24.5°C but it didn't feel as hot as that. The fan helped cool the room a bit.

The hotel could be a lot better with investment/staffing improved by Whitbread. The current staff are great, there just aren't enough of them.

Average Premier Inn, with restaurant currently closed for evening meals.
Pros:

This hotel is on the east side of the A96. It’s a good location for a stop doing the NE250 and since hotel rates have shot up in Inverness due to the popularity of the NC500, this is a much more cost-effective option.

Plenty parking spaces but the hotel does use one of those third-party ANPR systems, which I would have thought unnecessary here, and have had issue with their accuracy in other hotels with the risk of erroneous penalty notices.

I stayed in one of the newer rooms in the hotel – it was extended a few years ago. conditioning but the (very quiet) fan kept the room comfortable. There are plenty of Typical Premier Inn room, with large comfortable bed, large television with plenty of channels. Good 5G reception, so no need to pay for WiFi. There was no air power points for charging devices, but crucially on only one side of the bed, which was a bit inconvenient. Spare pillows had protectors on and were in a reassuringly sealed bag.

The room hadn’t been that well maintained, with one of the bedside lamps not working, grease stains on the curtains, dust build up on the skirting board and mould spots in the bathroom. A bit disapointed, particularly considering that the room wasn't that old.

There is an issue with the seagulls at this hotel, as it isn’t that far from the coast. They make a dreadful racket, although this abated by the time I went to sleep and wasn’t an issue overnight. It also contributes to the litter in the car park (closed top bins would solve this) and bird poo on the car.

Like most Premier Inns I’ve stayed at recently the restaurant (which was previously a Brewer’s Fayre) has closed down and is now open to residents only. I had planned to have dinner there as there are no other options nearby except fast-food take-aways (McDonalds, KFC and Burger King all within walking distance), but it was closed until further notice for evening meals, although was still serving breakfast. The receptionist advised it was because they couldn’t get chefs. It was really inconvenient and unfortunately seems to be a Premier Inn theme in the north of Scotland over the last year.

Premier Inn Elgin
Pros:

I had booked a meal deal as part of my booking, I received an email the day before check in to say that the Premier Inn Elgin was making some changes but the restaurant was still open only to be told at check in the restaurant was closed for evening meals but open for breakfast only, I was still charged for the meal deal until challenged it was then refunded. When I got to my room the air conditioning wasn’t working, again I was not advised at check in, they had put a fan in my room which was of no help, it was 27.5 C in the room at night, it was a terrible nights sleep. Went down for breakfast only to find that the food looked as though it had been lying out for some time, it was all dried out looking so I asked for 2 poached eggs only to be told the chef wasn’t there and they didn’t know when he would be back, I ate what I could and left the rest, this is one of the worst hotels I’ve ever stayed in and definitely won’t be back, if they had been honest and up front with all of the issues mentioned and maybe offered a discount it might have helped but I was charged the full amount for an abysmal service. I would never have expected this from a Premier Inn.

Premier Inn at Elgin
Pros:

Booked an accessible room but it was situated along two long corridors and the furthest room from the entrance. This was not suitable for a person in a wheelchair as all the corridors were carpeted and there was also a slope on the way back along the corridor.
Asked for our room to be serviced but that didn’t happen after the first night!
The restaurant wasn’t open in the evenings so unable to get a meal and got no warning about that. The area outside the restaurant needs cleaning and the whole building is “tired”. Actually it should be shut down.
The only positive is that the reception staff are very welcoming and pleasant.

Staff Amazing Facilities Not so Much
Pros:

We knew hotel did not have air con as have stayed before, but room temp never went below 28° One night it was 15° outside but 30° in our room. A lovely housekeeper found us another fan which kept temp berween 28 and 29. Warm water coming out of cold tap and mini fridge useless. Staff where lovely as always they did the best they could. We actually paid to stay at another hotel for a night which also didnt have air don but it was so much cooler as you could open windows wider than an inch and they had a tower fan. There were no evening meals after first 3 days of stay. I think Premier Inn shud have stepped up and provided decent fans in all of the rooms.
