A303 junction west of Andover. Located on roundabout junction of the A343 and the A342. Next to the Portway Inn Brewers Fayre.
Liam and his team were absolute stars. The room was warm and spotlessly clean. Thankyou. I'd thoughoughly recommend this hotel for value, location to the A303 and customer service
Good breakfast, rom is ok.
A very convenient stopping place for us - two minutes off the A303. Satnav took us straight there.
Welcoming staff at reception and in the restaurant. Rooms were clean, comfortable and adequately furnished.
our only negative observation was that the restaurant could do with an upgrade, and all of the tables were sticky to touch - the staff said they had tried everything... A shame - we would still return...
3 night trip, convenient location
What can I say, from start to finish we had an amazing time and felt wanted and important. The staff were lovely and communicated everything we could ask for. I got the feeling that the team were more like a family than work colleagues and Liam who I think was the manager seemed to be everywhere and so friendly. We had a lovely breakfast which set us up for the day and my daughter was made to feel like a princess which is what she will now expect from us!!!! Great team and great service, well done!
Room ok but restaurant leaves a lot to be desired. Waited 10 minutes at breakfast time , no staff appeared to seat us, so left for somewhere that would serve us.
I'm sure I've stayed here before but this time it was more memorable. In particular Emily in the restaurant was extremely welcoming & attentive. I'm sure I will stay again soon & look forward to my next visit.
Firstly let me say that the staff were brilliant. Friendly and professional so this review is not aimed at that them. They coped with our large reservation for dinner admirably.
The hotel is okay although a refurb wouldn’t go amiss.
That only leaves the restaurant and evening dinner. Basic items unavailable, order taken then found out that meal couldn’t be completed. Quantity and quality was a joke, well actually it wasn’t, it was unacceptable. You could count the chips on the plate. My colleague ordered prawn cocktail which came with pieces of cucumber and a slither of lettuce. I assume the remaining part of the single lettuce they must have had made up the minimal salad on another order!
Our colleague arrived at 2020 only to be told the kitchen had closed. Pointless having a meal deal.
On a corporate booking basis we have used this Premier Inn over a number of years, usually five or six times a year. Sadly the evening restaurant service has gone down hill and is nearly at the bottom of the slope.
If you must stay there use the adjacent McDonalds instead !!
The bed was comfortable, and the room itself was quite spacious. However, I had to ask the staff several times before the room was cleaned, as they didn’t react the first time. The food was okay, nothing special.
The free internet was a joke — you can log in, but then it cuts off and only works in short bursts. On top of that, the hotel asks you to pay for “premium” internet, which should really be free like everywhere else nowadays. Very disappointing.
Outside, the situation is even worse. There is a large bin right at the entrance that is always overflowing, making the place look dirty and unwelcoming. To make matters worse, the area is full of rats. Every time I went out for a smoke, I saw at least one. Just recently, two were fighting right in front of the hotel in the flower beds. I could even hear them squeaking before one ran off. Unfortunately, I couldn’t record it, but it was extremely unpleasant to witness.
I was thinking of cancelling my booking when I read some reviews however glad we didn't. Staff were so friendly and food was much better than we expected
I love a premier Inn when I travel in the uk, I find them to be of a consistent standard…this one is an exception. We waited a short while to be checked in, we arrived just before 10pm, we were handed an extra towel which appeared to be clean but had a smell of fried food. We went up to our room which was reasonably clean if a little dated. My husband popped down to the bar (we had been travelling for about 8 hours by this point) although there was a man behind the bar my husband was told the bar was closed and he couldn’t be served….not even a lemonade!
We had a quiet night although the room was rather hot due to poor air conditioning.
Breakfast had clearly been sitting around for a while, all a little dry looking. The dining area had a real problem with fruit flies, many of the sauce bottles were crusty with dried sauce which was attracting the insects.
The tables were sticky to the touch which was rather off putting….the inside of the windows were covered with dirty hand prints.
It served a purpose (an overnight stay from Heathrow to Devon) but it’s not up to usual Premier Inn standards.
Disabled room OK, chef could not grill meat chicken or steak no cocktail ingredients constant playing of christmas carols in July until it was mentioned then questioned about my religion. Disabled so no where else to go not easy to cros the A303 with underpass and rough sleepers suggest best option macdonalds next door, I think this is a contractors inn
There was three of us in resturant two steak and ale pies with chips and peas and one chicken and ham no peas. What came was one steak and ale with peas and a pie without peas when opening it up it was steak I asked a out it she took it came back she came back 5mins later with the pie I had opened with a spoonful of peas barely cooked and was then told I would have to wait 8 mins for the chicken pie because the ticket machine has made a mistake. Not good enough
A lovely warm welcome when I checked in for my 1 night stay. Jessica on reception was very informative and gave me all the information I needed for my stay. The room was fine and food was nice. All staff were friendly and I would definitely rebook if in the area again.
We booked into the Premier Inn for a one night stay as we were travelling from Cornwall to Kent. We were due to arrive after 11 p.m. with two small children so I tried to call ahead to advise. When there was no answer on reception, I sent a quick email. Another 4 attempts to call over a 3 hour period I gave up. Arrived just after 11 at night with 2 small children. Still no receptionist so after a 10 minute wait I found a buzzer inside the door. Finally a girl appeared and checked us in...with no apology or warm welcome. The room was the usual standard. Although we had one towel between 4 of us! We booked in for breakfast the next morning. It was quiet so the food had clearly been sat there for hours and everything was shrivelled!!! The restaurant was dirty, no loo roll in 2 out of 3 toilets... just generally a very disappointing stay. Ive stayed in a lot of Premier inns and never felt the need to complain.
Air conditioning in room didn’t work
Bathroom extractor fan didn’t work
Breakfast offerings minimal - not provided with selection advertised and paid for
Generally below par all round - would not stay here again
I enjoyed the accommodation here, as it was conveniently located for my needs, the breakfast was good, although some items were missing for some reason. The chicken & ham pie was nice too, my only gripe, for the love of all that is holy, please switch your cleaning solution, the tables were so sticky after being cleaned with it, it's a horrible feeling when you put your arm on the table and your skin sticks to it.
Stayed 3 nights for BSB at Thruxton.
The staff were lovely although the manager was a bit of a flapper. She was a lovely woman though.
Expecting her to waitress and cover reception meant she had to disappear and our medium rare steak arrived very well done. Young lad in the restaurant, Bradley, who is new to hospitality was very pleasant and helpful. Not his fault as probably hasn't been told but one thing that winds my watch is when he cleared hubby's plates away while I was still only 2 thirds through my meal.
It wasn't particularly busy for meals but a lot of people drinking at the bar. Premier inn know they're going to be busy, so put extra staff on.
Room was spotless. Paid the extra for premier plus so had air con as I know these places are hotter than Lucifers bedroom!
I do have to warn people to look out for the rats when outside. The 2nd night i could see the rats running past the window while we were eating, off to maccies across the road to get a happy meal for the kids! Went for a cigarette in the designated smoking area and had one nearly run across my foot! Not a rat box anywhere.
I'd stay again if they sort the rat issue out. Dont want to watch them running around while I'm eating!
Accommodation excellent but breakfast not good for those with gluten free diets as there was no bread and very little else under continental breakfast.
Clean comfortable friendly. Enjoyed all you can eat breakfast. Would happily return if in area. Plenty of parking. Located in industrial estate and got confused finding and leaving hotel.
