Terrible wifi, and I checked out after an hour and refused a refund. Could not find any staff available when checking in and waited too long. On checking into the room, I discovered the WiFi was terrible, so I left before even unpacking. Again no one downstairs to complain to or check out with
Hotel very clean , staff very helpful and friendly. HELEN in the kitchen always makes an excellent delicious cooked breakfast with a smile . Great value for money
Second stay at this hotel in a family room. Room very clean and well equipped. Sweets left in the room for the kids which was nice. Breakfast was not buffet style due to lack of visitors which disappointed the kids a little but was understandable. Would definitely stay again if in the area.
Good location
Welcoming, efficient staff
Clean, comfortable rooms
Very good (Thyme) restaurant within the hotel
Good value for money from 'Meal Deal' breakfast and evening meal
Good parking
EV charging points
Great time loved it, food and drinks and atmosphere perfect. Great service from Janet, Skye and Brandon, sorted out my booking issue
The staff in this beautiful little town are fantastic.
Special shout-out to Dave, in the restaurant.
He made us aware of the meal deal, which I recommend, and you will save a chunk of change.
Also, Keevan, on the front desk.
I hope I spelt your name correctly.
He recognized a family member, and they had a good catch up.
For £11 my mother had the buffet breakfast 🥞, and my daughter ate free.
Highly recommended if you're just passing through, travelling alone, or with a group or family.
Super reasonable, but more than reasonable service and food & drink.
Thank you again guys.
See you at Christmas when other family members are visiting.
Stayed here with work for the month, great experience throughout with friendly staff from reception to chefs. Good food, with a booking system in place.
Special mention to Skye who was fantastic going over and above where needed absolute top service from her at times but all staff where great.

I have stayed in hundreds of hotels over the past 25 years, but my stay at Premier Inn Ulverston this week was without question the worst experience I have ever had.
I booked one night at 75 pounds which is already excessive for a Premier Inn. I was told the only rooms available were accessible rooms with wet room bathrooms. That is not ideal for a normal guest but apparently that was all that was left.
The issues started before I even arrived. I received several promotional emails encouraging me to check in online so I followed the link to do so. The system repeatedly rejected my email and password, forcing me to reset my password five times before it worked. Their system also does not allow special characters in passwords which feels outdated and insecure.
When I arrived, I still had to go through the full manual check in process again, giving ID, car registration and payment details. The desk was unattended and I waited about ten minutes for anyone to appear.
My room, as expected, was an accessible wet room which was not what I wanted but I accepted it.
There was no mobile signal anywhere in the hotel so I had to rely on Wi Fi. The free Wi Fi did not work at all and the five pound ultimate Wi Fi package would not accept my login details. The staff at reception did not know how to fix it, shrugged and said they did not know. They still took my five pounds and I eventually worked it out myself.
Later, while sitting in the bar to do some work, I ordered food. At seven in the evening I was told they could try to squeeze me in at eight, even though I was already seated in the restaurant area with empty tables all around me. During that time other guests arrived, were seated immediately and served.
At eight I ordered a simple meal of gammon, double egg and chips. It took forty minutes to arrive and when it did the eggs were completely white and uncooked properly. I took them back to the bar and asked for them to be replaced.
In the meantime I discovered that the men’s toilets in the bar and restaurant area were out of order. Judging by the condition of the sign, they had been that way for weeks. The only toilet available was the disabled toilet, which was constantly in use. It was actually quicker to return to my own room than to wait for it to become free.
After another thirty five minutes I received the replacement meal, over an hour after my original order. The eggs this time were properly cooked, but it felt like a small victory in a long list of problems.
Finally, I tried to buy a bottle of water and a chocolate bar from the vending machine in the corridor. I paid for both, but only the water came out. When I reported this to the staff, they told me they did not control the machine and could not help. No apology, no refund, no solution. I had to pay again to get the chocolate.
From start to finish, this stay was unacceptable. The staff were untrained, unsupervised and completely disengaged, and the hotel itself is in poor condition.
For 75 pounds a night, you expect working Wi Fi, edible food, functioning toilets and staff who care, but none of these were delivered. This hotel is an embarrassment to the Premier Inn brand and I will never stay here again and I implore others to do the same, sleep in your car and go to the Mcdonalds nearby..it will be a nicer and cheaper experience by far.
I had an absolutely fabulous stay with my friend as a night of relaxation. I must give an honourable mention to Martyn one of the night staff he was absolutely brilliant, friendly and kind, he was also extremely helpful when we had trouble with our key card. Martyn could not have done more for us, thank you!
brilliant area. team of workers that go out their way to help . .fab room with a monument view, food excellent, quiet and clean... our 5 days were wonderful ,, thanks for the experience,,danny and carolyn room2 and 126,,,
The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable with good pillows. Shower pressure was good. Food from the grill was flavourless and not worth the price so i would recommend eating somewhere else when you stay. The TV also had no remote.
A very good Premier Inn.
Clean, comfortable and parking on site. I received a warm welcome at this hotel and found it to be very clean and comfortable. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff.
The restaurant has limited availability. You are aware of this in advance and have to book for both breakfast and dinner to guarantee space, walk-ups may not always be able to be accomodated. I dined elsewhere so cannot comment on the quality, but it was useful to know of the arrangements in advance.
Room is also not automatically cleaned and you have to request this.
Free parking, but you do have to enter your reg in a machine to avoid charges.
Easy access to the South Lakes from here. Ideal.
My wife and I had a two night break September 2025. The location is not really near the town centre but is only 4 minutes away by car. So likely at 10-11 minute walk? The car park had plenty free spaces. There is a EV charger (Geniepoint?) 90p kWh in the car park. The room was no different from other Premier Inns I have used with the bed + pillows being really comfy. The air conditioning worked both for hot and cold air. The free internet was less than 1 Mbps. My one gripe was the restaurant had to be pre-booked for all meals or your are not getting served. That to me is not how a restaurant should work. So from that point I would not return. Staff were great and place was spotless.
Lovely relaxing stay in Ulveston.Room lovely and clean, Hot shower, and mugs for coffee instead of teeny cups 👏🏻. Bed was a little too firm for me as I have osteoarthritis.
Staff all lovely and friendly, the lady chef at breakfast was lovely.
We had an evening meal on our first night, it was ok, but soon went cold due to the air conditioning which was on far too high and we had to switch tables twice. I could understand if it was hot weather and the restaurant was full, but it wasn’t. Breakfasts were plentiful, but not all items were kept hot.
We will visit again as the positives out weigh the little negatives
I had a wonderful stay at the Premier Inn in Ulverston. The staff were approachable and welcoming, which made me feel right at home. My room was spotless and very well looked after, a special thanks to Clair D. for keeping it so clean and comfortable. The location is also ideal, just a short walk to the town centre and from the train station. I’d happily stay here again and recommend it to anyone visiting the area.
Just want to say massive thank you to the premier in Ulverston as I had no where to go and was going throw a really tuff time with a break up and ladie call sam I think the mannger helped me throw it all and turned my thinking around amazing people thanks sam
Bearing in mind the cost it was excellent value for money.
The room was clean and well presented (even my wife was happy)
With regard to breakfast we were attended to by David who was attentive, efficient and kept the eating area spotless.
I am a Coeliac. Helen was labouring away in the kitchen was brilliant. She went to great lengths to ensure my cooked breakfast was gluten free.
They were both a credit to the company.
ok for one night.
The room was comfortable, and clean. The team member David was really helpful and knowledgeable in respect of allergies at breakfast time, which was really positive to see. Thanks :)
However, we were disappointed after paying an extra £10 for a lake view because all we could see was a bush as we were on the first floor!
We have used this premier inn a couple of times now due to the proximity to the southern lakes while being able to get a child friendly family room which is hard to do inside the national park. Our Autistic daughter struggles in new places but feels safe here and the staff are great at supporting and making it a great stay.
I would specifically like to call out the great service and conversation with David on the breakfast team. He has accommodated our needs, helped the kids during breakfast and even given some great recommendations of things to see while here. Having a local on staff with good knowledge who understands children is a huge asset to their team!
We will certainly be using this hotel again for future visits to this part of the country.
David recommended activities in Grizedale forest, fell foot national trust site, gullivers world just to name a few.
