Good overnight stay in a refurbished Premier Plus accessible room. Very modern, clean and great wet room. The air conditioning was new, which provided good heat.
It's a big hotel and I thought it was disappointing there is no bar/lounge area or evening meals offered. Luckily, there is a really nice Toby Carvery next door.
We paid £15 for early check-in upon booking. Room was not ready when we arrived. The male receptionist said it was not guaranteed, it did not say this in the email, so make sure you get your £15 back if your room is not ready.
Very helpful staff, plenty of parking space, clean room with a comfortable bed and also a decent breakfast. Perfect for a short stay.
The location was excellent, the rooms basic. We either froze or boiled as the temperature was very difficult to change. The restaurant downstairs was very unaccommodating and kept wanting to separate us even although we were a big group of 24 and they had the room for us. There was a young lad at reception with glasses that was excellent. The same could not be said for the mature lady that worked in the evening.
We asked for the room to be cleaned and it wasn't. It was easier to just manage your own towel change. I'd stay there again but it's not around the guest comfort but the staff's ease.
I stayed here on the 16th - 17th of November - in a Premier Plus room and had a very disappointing experience. I’ve stayed in many Premier Inn hotels before and the staff have always been friendly and helpful.
I called the day before to ask about early check-in and was told it would cost £15 from 11am but will be free from 1:30pm if the room was available. When I arrived at 2pm, the receptionist was unexpectedly hostile. He confirmed the room was ready and available but said I’d still have to pay £15 to check in before 3pm. He then told me I could wait until 2:30pm and was welcome to sit in front of him for half an hour. It felt unprofessional and like a money grab.
My room (218) was very clean but extremely cold, and the temperature controls didn’t work - I didn’t have a comfortable night. There was also a sewage smell coming from the vents. Overall, a poor experience and definitely not what I expect from a Premier Plus stay.
I arrived at the hotel at about 8.30pm to find that there were no reception staff available. Instead there was a self check in system that included a programmable room access card. My room was on the first floor and the lift was out of order but I managed to get to the room and go inside. I found that the access card also controlled the lighting but had no idea that for the lights to stay on it needed to be placed in a slot in the control panel. This meant that when I was some distance inside the room all the lights went out leaving me in complete darkness. That I managed to make my way back to the door without falling over anything and get the lights back on was down to luck. As an OAP with mobility issues and with no-one nearby to help me, if I'd tripped over in the darkness and hurt myself I'd have been in serious difficulty. This was a health and safety nightmare.
Excellent stay
Stayed for two nights. Self check in although assistance was at hand. Room was fine, excellent mattress, duvet and pillows. Room was very clean, two bottles of water in the mini fridge! Bathroom was clean, excellent shower and washing accessories. WiFi was abysmal, couldn’t download items. Breakfast service was excellent, food itself couldn’t be faulted. Very handy for M8. All in all good value.
Clean modern spacious rooms. Good breakfast choices.
Great location, close to the motorway, so it was ideal for exploring Scotland. The staff was polite and helpful, and breakfast was excellent!
New style room. Absolutely spotless. Would definitely stay at this one again. Team Member checking me in was friendly, interested in my journey and onward travel.
Friendly and helpful staff.
Staff was amazing. Very helpful
Gute Anbindung an ÖPNV, um nach Edinburgh zu kommen. Nicht weit zum Flughafen, aber kein Fluglärm.
Gutes Frühstück, sauberes modernes Zimmer und Bad.
absolutely brilliant hotel clean friendly and we will only use this hotel when wr come to scotland. highly recommend this hotel to friends and family
Always use this Premier Inn when staying near Bathgate. Love the premier plus rooms for extra comfort. Place is always clean, quiet and a Toby Carvery next door. Staff always pleasant and so helpful.
Seemed like the best hotel in tha area. Staff were great. breakfast very busy when we were there but ok. Not cleaning the rooms as standard nightly which I think is a bit rich when they aren't exactly budget anymore. Parking good and a Toby Carvery next door. My only complaint is the lack of air con. Never thought that would be a concern in Scotland but the room was 29 degrees when we were there in late September.
We wanted a nice Premier Inn experience. We used motorway-king of Premier Inns before all over UK but this one even with the refurbished rooms seemed of a cheaper quality. We are now finding out that gone are the days when Premier Inn was a desired hotel chain throughout UK and Europe. Standards are gone and definitely 4 stars are not deserved. Cleanliness is something they need to really work out. For a 3 star hotel we can expect some amenities of a certain quality but not for a desired 4 star.
Staying here at the moment, spacious rooms, lovely staff, nice layout. Close to airport, comfy beds, great good nearby
Highly recommended
We arrived at the hotel on Thursday 28th August we had already checked in online but when we got there the staff was amazing and so friendly they couldn’t do enough for you to help make your stay as comfortable as possible the rooms are perfect clean and full of the essentials that you need from extra pillows to having a nice cuppa in the morning the morning breakfast is the best around again the staff couldn’t do enough for you.
We never stay anywhere else when we travel to Scotland.
