Hotel was warm, clean, quiet and very comfortable. Lots of parking.
Reception staff were extremely helpful and friendly.
We ate in the restaurant and my husband who has coeliac diseases was very well catered for with his food freshly cooked to minimise cross contamination.
Will stay again.
Great hotel. Really clean and very welcoming front desk staff.
Clean and comfortable. Free parking included. Short walk to the city centre.
Room was cold most of the time, hotel constantly turned off the heating. When we arrived we had half a recycled toilet roll, and towels were hard, after reporting this to reception we received one new 1 ply toilet roll. Booking a Plus room states sweet treats and water daily, this was denied by reception who claimed it was only on the first night. UNTRUE
There seems little point in paying the extra, only to be presented with a room that has stained carpets and cheap soap's that are easily available in most discount stores. Then you have the attached Brewers Fair, no wine glasses, no ice, no working coffee machine for our morning breakfast. Even worst they close a 9pm, with some drinks not available due to no stock and staff that really didn't care if you were their or not.
The food is all prepared in a microwave, and served in or on a plate that is too hot to handle.
Not worth the £500 we paid for a four night stay, never again and have already cancelled two future booking for next year.
Second time staying here. Booked for me through the company. Rooms are dirty, carpets worn out and haven’t been cleaned. Bathroom is mouldy and door wouldn’t open due to fouling the toilet.
Bed sheets dirty and shower curtain in a poor state.
Connected green king pub is grubby and food is poor.
This is a very poor show from premier inn.
This hotel is in desperate need of renovation, with damp smells, cracked sinks, and poor bathroom repairs. Bedding cleanliness was as you'd expect of Premier Inn, so OK. Being rained on over breakfast (roof leak) on day 1 and finding multiple hairs in my breakfast on day 2 extended the issues away from the bedrooms.
Booked table at 8 30pm by 8 50pm no one had approached to take our drinks or food order.i had 2 find a member of staff to ask for a drink! Never again.will book room but go to mcdonalds.absolute shambles
We got a very warm welcome on arrival even though it was the middle of the night, the lady on reception was fantastic, very helpful, if I remember correctly, I think she was called Tracey. It was very clean and everything you expect from a Premier Inn
Really disappointing visit. Drove 4 hours to arrive at 7.30 and be told the restaurant was closing at 8pm due to a large group arriving at 8.30pm. If I was quick I would be served straight away, rushed to the restaurant (7.40pm) to be told kitchen was too busy and we couldn’t have a table. The restaurant was almost empty. Went for dinner elsewhere and came back for a drink, staff lacklustre, tables dirty and sticky, restaurant still empty. Let bar at 8.45 and the “large group” still hadn’t arrived, we could have eating in that time.
Walking to our room, the corridor and stair looked as though they hadn’t been vacuumed in a week. Premier Plus room… it was cold, two very thin pillows, no blankets, no biscuits/sweets which they are supposed to have, looked like someone had already been in the room and rummaged through the tray, one bath towel and one hand towel for two people, grey single ply toilet paper that looked more in keeping with a hostel or public loo, supposed high speed Wi-Fi that was exactly the same speed as the free Wi-Fi. No one on reception when we arrived or when we went back. “press the bell” sign on the desk permanently, no one answers if you ring as the pager is lying on reception.
Premier inn seems to have steadily gone down hill over the last decade, taking away all the little extras that made it worth while.
We have used this Premier Inn many times for holiday visits to our family. This however was not up to the normal standard we have had in the past .Out of a three day stay there was no breakfast for one day and for another an alternative to the Premier Inn breakfast was provided ,this was of poor quality .In addition a large party was checked in late with no consideration of quietness etc which gave a disturbed night sleep
After an extremely stressful day—and having my original B&B cancel my booking on the very morning I was due to arrive—I checked into the Premier Inn feeling exhausted and frustrated. Tracey completely turned my day around.
Her hospitality and professional conduct were outstanding from the moment I walked in. She went above and beyond to make sure I felt welcomed and looked after. When I got to my room, I was genuinely surprised and touched to find a small care package waiting for me: peanuts, chocolate popcorn, and a beer. It was such a thoughtful gesture, especially after the day I’d had.
Tracey is a credit to Premier Inn. Her kindness, attention to detail, and genuine care for guests made all the difference. I’m truly amazed by the level of service I received, and I won’t forget it.
Highly recommended—thank you, Tracey!
Well, what a beautiful hotel. Spotless. Gorgeous accessible room, very comfy bed, low bath bathroom. Beautiful toiletries included. Staff very attentive and nothing was a problem.
I have dropped a star because I'm disabled and the disabled ramp lift was out of order and made things difficult for me with my mobility scooter, but staff let me use fire exit door. Hopefully before our next visit in March it will be repaired. Also shower curtains don't fit into bath resulting in water spilling over floor making it slippy, not good in disabled room. Overall excellent place...beautiful good at night and breakfast
Friendly staff really good sized room which was spotless. The lady on reception was very knowledgeable about the area really can't fault it
Very pleased with our night in this hotel , it exceeded our expectations for a motorway stop over . Room was quiet , very clean and a VERY comfortable bed …. So it was even more of a wrench when at 6.45 am the fire alarm went off. It was only for about a minute so presumably a false alarm but as the bed was so comfortable we were still in a very sound sleep at that time .
The restuarant and menu looked very inviting when we arrived but as we had already eaten we didn’t use it .
Next time we stay I would make a point of using it as the light bite menu options looked inviting . Breakfast was a serve yourself buffet with lots of options including a good cooked selection
Would definitely stay again
Corridors had a very strong smell of smoke. Wasn’t fresh as other premier inns are.
Room was a decent size and the bed was comfy as usual.
The cups had hairs on and were sat on a dusty tray. Found hairs in the bed and bathroom as well as mould on the ceiling.
Whoever was in the room above - they were either very heavy footed or the hotel was rickety as it sounded like elephants up there!
It did the job for our stay. We needed sleep effectively and somewhere to store luggage.
We chose this location based on free parking but, if in the area again, would probably choose to pay parking and use a different hotel.
We had a drink at the pub but chose not to eat there based on the cleanliness of tables
Location great. Comfortable clean and quiet. We were on the second floor. Had the best sleep, and I don't sleep well. Couldn't fault it to be honest. Was nervous as there are a lot of bad reviews but I couldn't reconcile those with our stay.
We had a really lovely experience at the Premier Inn Carlisle M6 Jct 44. The food was delicious and nicely presented, and the service was excellent throughout. Callum and Isla took great care of us — they were friendly, attentive, and made us feel very welcome.
Stayed for a night on the way home from a week in Edinburgh. Great location off the motorway surrounded by lots of shops. Easy check in with free parking just put reg into screen. Room was as expected, we’ve stayed in premier inns before always enjoy the bath as it’s much deeper than at home 😊 walked in to find a Halloween gift bag with a bag of sweets and little note. Such a lovely little touch, I love Halloween! Room was spacious, bed was big and comfy and all very clean. Remote didn’t work on tv but wasn’t an issue. Easy check out just put card in box and off we went. Will deffo stay at this location again when visiting Scotland 😊
We stayed for 1 night on October 28th. The hotel was generally acceptable, but noise levels were not. Had to go to reception and ask them to request the guests upstairs to stop running back and forth repeatedly across their room at 5 .30 in the morning. This building must be timber framed as the sound proofing is very poor and the structure creaking made it worse. No chance of a decent night's sleep here. Ironically, we stayed in another Premier Inn two weeks ago, with noise disturbance during a lot of the night. If you must stay here, I would insist on an upstairs room and hope for the best. Reception did appear to do something, as it went quiet after 6.45am.
Regularly stay at this hotel when on business, the team are fantastic and really make my stay!
Huge shout out to both Callum and Catalina who seem to be around mostly when I stay, they are both a credit to the team and take interest in getting to know me.
The only downside to the hotel is that the Premier Plus rooms are on the far side of the hotel, but it’s a nice quiet area.
Looking forward to my next visit up to Carlisle.
Last minute need for accommodation so had not prebooked when we arrived advised we needed to book on line not (easy for the elderly) we were successful on the third attempt as app kept saying fully booked.
The room a little jaded but clean and comfortable.
Evening meal in Thyme restaurant had to book as fully booked although predominantly empty tables
