From M74(J8) signposted Kilmarnock (A71). From M77 join A71 to Irvine. At next roundabout turn right onto B7064/B7081 signposted Crosshouse Hospital, the hotel is on the right. Next to the Cotton Mill Cookhouse and Pub.
Killie is a good central area for West of Scotland and the staff go the extra mile to help. Angela the Manager is a credit to Premier Inn.
friendly staff, warm and welcoming atmosphere on check-in and out. clean rooms and great value for money for a family. kids get free breakfast when 1 adult purchases a premier inn breakfast making the stay more appealing and budget friendly.
the hotel is 24 hour surveillance making you feel safe. location is close to main roads, town centre and hospital.
The room was clean and cell-like as usual.
The bar next door, though...
We went there at 6.25pm. We had not booked. The man said, we have nothing for you until 7.30pm. I pointed at an empty table nearby, with place settings, and asked whether it was booked. He said yes, some time after 7. So it was free, but he said, that's for overspill and we like to keep everyone in one area. That made no sense but we thought, OK. Right next to that there was an area set up for dining, entirely empty.
So we sat in a non-dining area with some snacks. A customer at the next table was served a pretty good-looking meal.
So this was a team effort. We didn't book and the man in charge wasn't into customer service. He could have just told us straight, we'd rather not serve you food.
Was very welcoming , room was clean and comfortable.
Staff were very helpful.
We had meals next door (cotton mill) food was fine , as expected from a harvester like restaurant.
Staff were friendly and helpful. Very accommodating of allergies.
Was a pleasant atmosphere.
Reliable good service and quality of room.Very clean unsuite, good night's sleep in very comfortable bed. The adjoining restaurant provided good meals and friendly service. I have stayed here many times in the past and will again in the future.
Plenty of parking and a decent size room. I was given a ground floor room and that's where the quiet room experience ended.
One could hear every footstep from the room above. It was difficult to sleep and not good if one has to get up at 5 am for work.
Next time I'd be giving Premier Inn Kilmarnock a miss.
Premier Inn Kilmarnock is as you expect from any Premier Inn
The staff were super helpful with local knowledge and advise. check-in was quick and informative. the rooms were clean and smelling fresh, of course COMFY beds for a great night sleep, they also have cute little gosh charity shop at the reception area so make sure to bring change as they sell books, bracelets, toothbrush if you have forgotten yours.
good location, in terms of out the way from noise but close enough drive into the town centre or walk to hospital.
Had a really good stay here. The room was clean, comfy, and quiet – perfect for a good night’s sleep. Big shoutout to the reception staff who were super friendly and helpful from the moment we arrived. The location’s handy, parking was easy, and breakfast next door was tasty too. Would definitely stay again!
Absolutely amazing stay, from the moment I arrived with the happy, helpful staff at the front desk always going out there way to help to the housekeeping team who are always working hard and even able to take time out there busy day to help and the room was lovely and clean. All staff are more than happy to help.
If you're planning a short stay in kilmarnock, the Premier Inn is perfectly fine. However, it's in need of a bit of TLC, as it's getting a bit tired, as previous comments stated. The staff are all very helpful and friendly. Also if you are looking for a nicer place to eat, try the Cochrane a couple of miles away
The bathroom was very poor. Grouting and silicone around the bath and sink were dirty and black in places. Plug holes were dirty and soap dispenser over the sink was rusty and needed replacing.
Wonderful staff, room spotless. Will definitely be back. Staff very knowledgeable about local area. Quiet hotel. Loved it.
We have used premier inn all over Britain. Without a doubt this one is shocking and we will never visit again. We start with arrival and a young man who clearly did not want to be there and said the absolute minimum. No pleasantries , he didn't even ask if we were having dinner or breakfast there. This is the worst reception we have ever had in any hotel. Room was dirty, not just wear and tear but inside the toilet was filthy. In addition the room was stiffling hot all night with an inadequate fan. Finally don't be fooled by the claims of unlimited breakfast at the Cotton Mill next door... No such thing as the waitress takes your order and it's one of each item with a very limited range at the Continental selection. We will never return as there are lots of places in Kilmarnock.
I had an amazing stay at Kilmarnock, all the staff were lovely and very helpful, nice, clean, spacious rooms and a nice restaurant next door.
No assisted room and tv broken. However overall it still remains a good comfortable clean place to stay to visit my realtives
The room was as expected: clean and airy.
The customer service was outstanding.
Visiting the local hospital from the Isle of Arran, I was unsure about how many nights to book. After one night it looked as though the ferry home might be cancelled. Looking to book two more nights, I had difficulties doing it online.
The person on reception was called Angela. She did the booking for me. I won't bore anybody with the details but she encountered some issues with my request. Not only did she get stuck in to resolve them, she worked at it until I not only had a room but a favourable price too, without having to change rooms for the third night.
This is an employee who is not satisfied with the extra mile. She brought goodwill, determination and intelligence to the task, even though she knew that I may have to cancel one or both of those nights.
In the end, I cancelled night three. After all her work, she was even gracious about that.
I worked 20 years in education and 10 in retail. In my experience, that standard of professionalism is not the norm. I was seriously impressed and I hope she sees this review and takes it as a "thank you".
Stayed for one night and, unfortunately, this was probably my poorest Premier Inn experience to date.
The staff were the highlight — warm, welcoming, and genuinely accommodating. I actually felt sorry for them, as they’re clearly doing their best while having to deal with guests disappointed by the state of the property.
The product itself is very tired and worn, and it’s clear that the hotel is in urgent need of refurbishment. This just doesn’t reflect the consistency and quality Premier Inn is known for — particularly when it comes to comfort and quality of sleep, neither of which were delivered here.
Come on, Premier Inn — this property needs attention to bring it back in line with your usual standards.
The room was fine. We slept well and the beds were comfortable. Staff were friendly and helpful.
We were lucky enough to visit in a heatwave and the outside garden patio/play area was a great suntrap, perfect for drinking beer and getting some sun but with one issue : the garden furniture is very old, decrepit and in places rotted. My wife lost a beer when I sat down and everything moved. The staff kindly replaced it. Whilst it was amusing watching other customers deal with these very unstable tables and chairs and having the same issues as us, there could be more serious issues if someone became injured from a collapse of this furniture, possibly even with liability issues...
Food wise, an average offering from this type of hotel. Unlimited breakfast was good and set us up for the day. The two women running breakfast did their job very well and everything ran like clockwork.
I would be very happy to visit again.
A very convenient and easy location for an overnight visit. The road noise was minimal considering the location near a roundabout. The building interior is perhaps needing a refresh and the room was very bland. The lack of a second armchair in the double room despite plenty of space was disappointing. Overall it was good value but the breakfast was a bit tasteless compared to other Premier Inns we've stayed at. The Haddock and chips in the evening compensated, the fish was excellent and the chips great with the skins on.
