I stay here regularly and with the recent renovation, friendly staff and great breakfast it’s the best one around. However, if you have a room above the automatic reception doors, they are noisy, with people coming and going all the time it becomes frustrating.
Convenient and quiet. We had a Premierplus room which was great with USB ports and a Nespresso coffee maker. Very comfortable. As we have family nearby will definitely use again.
Lovely premier inn. Me and mum come every year to do the Xmas shopping in the free port with a stay over. Lovely beds and lovely staff xx
Highly recommend going in for breakfast if you live in the local area!
Freshly cooked breakfast with a great team of breakfast hosts who will go the extra mile to help you in any way possible.
My husband and I popped in for breakfast.
A warm welcome from Charlotte.
We were looked after and served by Tracy. Food was tasty and hot.
Can't wait to return 😊
The refurb at the hotel looks fantastic, the staff, Kerrie, Tracey etc as always, very welcoming and cannot do enough for you.
Stay was excellent, again, as usual.
The only one critical point to make, what are those sausages?! Bring back the old sausages rather that the long cardboard things!
Our heating would not stay on in our room, we hadn’t realised it had gone off until gone midnight, so turned it on again and went to sleep. Throughout the night the thermostat kept setting itself back to a lower temperature so we were very cold. We didn’t ask to move as it was the middle of the night! In the morning we found the thermostat had gone even lower, we turned it up AGAIN but had a very cold showering experience!
When we reported this to reception, the lady said to her colleague ‘it’s 116 again’, so it was a known problem!
They said we should write to their customer services as there was nothing they could do at the hotel.
The main reason for this review IS the customer services! All they have done is apologise and said we should have reported it at the time, not in the morning. I have mentioned their ‘good night guarantee’ and they have now ignored two emails from me!
We always choose to stay at premier inns as, on the whole, you know exactly what you will be getting, but on this occasion we are extremely disappointed!
I stayed here at the Essex Freeport Premier Inn as I was inviting my daughter for the weekend and this was the worst premier inn I have ever stayed in. I stay in Premier inns alot. I had my autistic grandchild with me so I paid to have breakfast every morning but they failed to let me know they was having work done on the monday so I didnt have time to make other arrangements as we was travelling home not long after that so we had to go with out. Also in the room it self had no air con so had to have a very rattled fan going all night with was very hard to sleep with. I will never be staying at this Premier inn ever again.
Amazing staff
Chef was off but Tracey stepped in and cooked a 10/10 breakfast
Made feel very welcome
Definitely recommend
Great breakfast, Chef Yuliia, host Tracey. Very friendly staff, very accommodating. Comfortable bed. Highly recommend. Will return.
My husband and I stayed here on and off since June due to a flood at home.
We could not have stayed at a better hotel.
All the staff are so friendly, helpful and nothing is too much trouble.
Kerry leads an exceptional team from the restaurant staff to reception and the ladies who keep the hotel lovely and clean.
My husband and I spent both birthdays there and we were made to feel really special…(a shout out to Kerry and Tracy!)..
Hotel is clean
Free parking /lots of spaces
Breakfast is tasty and fresh
We just cannot fault this hotel.
We did not want to leave but will definitely be back for breakfast and to see them all.
Everyone could not of made us more welcome 😊
We just had a brilliant stay !
A lovely comfortable hotel, with free parking. There was a pub next door, which we used in the evening. Our only negative was that it was around a 15 minute walk to Freeport village, we attempted to walk there for dinner, but couldn't work out how to cross the busy roads ! So gave up, We assumed that as the hotel title was called ' Freeport Village ' that it was closer! Apart from that, it was a good stay. Breakfast was very good, the staff very friendly, and a good choice of food.
I stayed here recently for my friends wedding, the room was the best I have ever seen at a premier inn before. Staff were all amazing and so helpful, Breakfast was a lovely surprise as it was cooked to order which was so much better than the buffet style. Would 100% recommend this hotel!
We stayed the 18th departing on the 20th July 2025. The room was expected. However the staff, Charlie on the reception and all of the staff in the breakfast room were exceptional. They are all professional, friendly and very helpful they are a credit to the hotel
A cheerful welcome in this quiet Premier Inn, ideal for our visit. Rooms were very clean and comfortable and there were good facilities. It was during the hot weather and fans were provided which helped.
Cant go wrong with a Premier Inn! Stayed for one night on the way to the airport. Check in was easy and staff friendly, nice comfy bed and all the mod cons (tea / coffee) - English TV. Only downside was the continental breakfast was a bit on the weak side as not many pastries available and had to wait for some to be cooked. However the chef was lovely and got this organised.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
As a local, I’ve had the pleasure of visiting Premier in Braintree several times for breakfast — and I can confidently say it never disappoints. The staff are absolutely amazing: warm, welcoming, and always going the extra mile.
The food is fantastic and great quality, excellent value for money. It’s become my go-to spot for breakfast in the area, and I’d highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxed, tasty start to the day.
5 star breakfast! Freshly cooked to order, tasted delicious, and staff were very accommodating and friendly.
Will be returning again!
A really nice clean well looked after hotel. The team are excellent and friendly and helpful. Rooms all made up ready for arrival, fans provided because it was so hot. Breakfast was lovely. The hotel is near lots of shops and food places. Very peaceful.
Excellent hotel with warm and friendly staff.
Spotlessly clean.
Well positioned for shopping at the outlet then a delicious meal and drink next door in the pub garden.
Make sure you leave room for the breakfast at the hotel it is outstanding.
