Everyone was great and
Great room. Easy taxi to and from Gatwick airport. Restaurant was good. I would recommend and stay again.
Great everything perfect
I'm glad that this Premier Inn does not charge for parking. It's a short drive from Gatwick and set in a fairly quiet location. That said there is not much nearby, so it's an ideal airport stopover hotel rather than a getaway location. The room was clean and the heating worked well. Our only disappointment was that there were no water bottles in the room and no fridge. The value for money was fair.
First visit to a Premier inn. This hotel was easily accesible from Gatwick by public transport and a short walk. A polite and efficient receptionist welcomed me to the premises, a great start. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. I could not find fault anywhere. A pleasant young man on reception greeted me the following morning, confirming my belief that Premier inn value excellent customer services. My two night stay was outstanding. I can wholly recommend this fine hostelry and its friendly staff. I'll be back, Sláinte.
We chose this hotel because it was close to the airport and offered free parking on their website. Unfortunately we received a parking fine for £100 afterwards and despite being a guest Premier Inn were unwilling and unable to do anything about it.
We arrived late at the hotel and registered my car on a tablet as instructed by the receptionist. We had a very uncomfortable stay due to excessive heat and being put on the top floor despite my request in advance for a lower floor. The room stank and there is no breakfast facility at the hotel. We departed the following morning.
Two weeks later I received a PCN notice from Civil Enforcement for £100 for illegally parking. I emailed the hotel directly but they replied that they do not own the parking and the contract for enforcement was with the Parson Pig next door. Neither Premier Inn or Parson Pig have access to the car management system. I replied that both the PCN and the notices in the car park have Premier Inn's name and that they have a responsibility to their clients as stated on the web to provide free parking. I also stated that the intention of the enforcement was to deter people from parking who were not guests and not to punish bonafide clients. I did not get a reply from the hotel.
I appealed to Civil Enforcement and showed my invoice with the hotel. I stated that I had registered my car on the tablet. They rejected my appeal on the grounds that they have no record of my registration. I can only assume that there was a break in the WiFi connection as OpenReach often does internet maintenance late on weekend evenings. Civil enforcement made it clear that if I didn't pay the fine I would be threatened with legal action and that I would have very little chance of winning.
I contacted Premier Inn guest relations but they claim no responsibility and that I should take up the matter with the owner of the car park. After repeated requests I managed to get in contact with the manager who was also looking after other hotels. He was initially sympathetic and admitted that even his staff received fines. He was unable to do anything about the fine and eventually refused to reply to my emails.
This episode has taken three months and dozens of emails. There are several other reviews with the same issue. What was most disappointing was that Premier Inn accepts no responsibility for a car park it offers for its guests.
Be aware you run the risk of receiving a PCN and that the parking registration system sometimes doesn't work. Don't expect Premier Inn to help you.
This is a good premier inn.
Staff on the counter were lovely.
Everything worked and was very clean.
TV remote hard to read as was very old I guess, but that’s really minor.
Great stop off before our flight the next day
Very attentive staff. Warm welcome by Jay and the team. Could do enough for us. Nice clean, comfortable room, as always. Thank you
.
A hot and uncomfortable over night stay. There was no lift to the first floor, which meant as someone with mobility issues I had to struggle up stairs and down.
The room was a family room. Big and the usual premier inn decor.
Bed comfortable as ever, however there was no AC, just a fan in the room. The window could open slightly, but not enough to reduce the stifling heat. Having the fan on all
Night was the only option and this disturbed sleep.
The bathroom as ok, however when the light was switched on there was a loud mechanical sound from the fan - a loud and low whistle.
In the morning, I used the bathroom, and the toilet fell off the wall, meaning that I fell on the floor, which was incredibly difficult to get up from, with a toilet also topped over on the floor. The pipes had become disconnected, so unable to flush loo, as it would have spattered all over the bathroom floor.
Didn’t have breakfast, as an early start, but the evening meal at the adjoined pub was delicious.
So overall, not the best Premier Inn I’ve stayed in. Could do with some AC as an essential and hopefully they will fix the mechanics in the fan and get the plumbing sorted.
Stayed here on Monday night after flying back from holiday. As expected with Premier Inn, everything was fairly standard, clean, comfortable enough, and reasonably priced. You generally know what you’re getting, and that’s fine for a short stay.
That said, there were a couple of areas for improvement. We booked a family room for four people, but only two cups were provided, which seemed a bit thoughtless. Not a huge issue, but worth mentioning.
The main problem was the location of our room. We checked in during the early hours and were placed next to a door that led to the main stairwell. Being near the airport, the hotel had people coming and going at all hours, and the door next to us was constantly being opened and slammed shut. The loud bang each time made it very difficult to get any decent sleep.
Overall, it was an adequate stay, but better soundproofing or more careful room allocation for late check-ins would have made a big difference.
Comfortable and clean accommodation. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Couldn’t do enough for us after a very stressful day at the airport; made all the difference.
As premier inn rooms go this was their usual standard, the bed was comfy.
However, the room was unbearably hot (I am aware that the UK was in the midst of a heatwave) and the portable fan just wasn’t enough. The air conditioning was nonexistent.
I know this can be a recurring theme in premier inn hotels and maybe something to rethink. They do say it is healthier to sleep in a cooler room.
Also at this particular hotel there was no restaurant, however the adjacent pub was nice and the food very pleasant, with large portions. However, no breakfast service available which was a disappointment.
On the whole for 1 night it was what it was but we couldn’t have stayed longer.
Great night's sleep, great food next door, always looked after by great staff, thank you Alla for looking after us all the time.
The hotel itself is well looked after, clean and modern. However special recognition is towards, receptionist ALLA who is attentive to any queries raised which she problem solved. She is very good front of house as she makes the stay feel like a home from home rather than paid accommodation due to how friendly and caring she is. The company is lucky to have ALLA not just because of how good she is at her job but also how nice she is as a person.
As stated there is no air conditioning so I had to open the window. However the pub next door was busy with many people sitting outside until late at night so extremely noisy.
Very basic bathroom with only soap provided
One plus is the free overnight parking.
As far as Premier Inn's go, this is one of the nicest ones I have stayed in. Staff very welcoming, friendly and helpful. The check-in /check-out procedures were simple and straightforward and parking is included. The location is great, not too far from the airport and there are restaurants / places to eat nearby. The room was spotless and the bed extremely comfortable. The only thing that let it down slightly was the free wi-fi, unfortunately it barely worked however there is an option for a faster one at an extra cost.
Overall was a lovely stay.
Great option if leaving your car at APH parking. Comfy beds, super price and The Parsons Pig next door has excellent food options. There isn't a lift though so watch out if you have heavy cases to carry up to the 1st floor. Airport is not far if you are travelling abroad, will book again.
It is a quiet hotel with friendly staff. The parson pig on site has the best Indian food I have tasted. There is no public transport near the hotel, so I had to get a taxi from the airport. But I would stay again. It was close to the airport, but you could not tell as it was in the countryside.
No lift at the hotel and no breakfast, which was a sham, but when asked to move to the ground floor, one receptionist helped. If you do need a ground-floor room. I was told to give a call, and they would make sure I was on the ground floor next time. So will keep that in mind in the future.
I would stay again in the future as a nice little Premier Inn.
I have stayed at many Premier Inns, but this was my first experience at a local one, and I was truly impressed by the staff’s exceptional service and genuine customer care.
A special thanks to Alla, who made me feel welcome from the moment I walked in. She ensured I had a comfortable room, and I couldn’t have asked for more.
I’d also like to acknowledge Terri, whose bubbly personality, professionalism, and helpful attitude stood out.
I had arranged for a parcel to be delivered to the hotel, and the reception team handled it seamlessly. They made sure all staff were informed, ensuring a smooth process. Jay at reception was also brilliant—attentive, helpful, and quick to answer all my queries.
The restaurant staff at Premier Inn Manor Royal were equally wonderful. One lady, in particular, was very welcoming and took great care in noting my son's allergies. However, I do wish there were more gluten-free options available.
One thing to note is that this hotel does not have its own restaurant, which might be a consideration for some guests.
Overall, I’m really glad I chose to stay here instead of the North Terminal location. Thank you once again to the entire team—management should be proud of such outstanding staff!
