Great hotel and pub opposite.
Very welcoming in both hotel and the pub.
Nice reasturant in the pub and good selection of food and drinks
Friendly and very accommodating.
Arrived late and asked about dinner options, was directed to the Restaurant across the street but told be quick as they stop orders at 20:30hrs.
I went straight over as it was 20:20hrs, was turned away immediately, not even offered a bar meal or anything.
Needless to say I was somewhat disappointed as my day started at 07:30hrs when I left Dunfermline to get there.
Now the good stuff, lady in the Premier Inn reception was lovely and gave me a sheet with a selection of places local to eat or request delivery.
I fell asleep on the super comfortable bed, woke up in the morning ready to eat for Scotland.
Breakfast was sublime, freshly cooked bacon and eggs with the nicest sausages I have ever eaten in an establishment like this.
The lady’s that looked after me, Tracy and Kelly were the difference to a lovely breakfast to a truly great experience of great food and hospitality that really made a difference.
Thank you Premier Inn for getting it right with this location, whatever you are paying them needs to be doubled as they have represented you above and beyond.
Ideal place for short stays bedrooms are a great size breakfast is great and pricing is super reasonable. Big car park, good ev chargers. Basic but great value.
We came to the area to scatter my nans ashes as she lived here as a child and to also travel to Wales to scatter my grandads as that’s where he lived as a child.
My sister and I came with two children, aged 10 and 8. My mum and her husband and my auntie and her husband also stayed.
We were late arriving on the Friday evening, the gentleman on reception was lovely, booked us in for breakfast the next day, explained where the room was etc. We had breakfast on the Saturday morning, staff were all lovely, helpful when asked a question and it was very nostalgic for us all to hear people talking with the same lovely accent my late nan had.
We left the hotel around 9.15am, to travel to various places scattering ashes along the way. The journey to Milford Haven in Wales took nearly 3 hours there and the same on the way back.
As you can imagine it was a very long and emotional day.
We arrived back at the hotel around 8pm, popped to the room and then went back to pub across the car park for some food. We had a lovely meal, toasted our late nan as it was her birthday.
On returning to reception we were collecting some milk and teabags, the children were talking, the receptionist then stopped speaking to the customers checking in to say to the children that the corridors were quiet from 9pm… it was 9.30pm. We were stood in reception, not in a corridor. We were waiting to book in for breakfast. I felt extremely embarrassed that she stopped speaking to the customers she was dealing with to basically tell us off for talking in an open reception not even near the quiet corridors.
As I say the children were talking, not shouting or even messing around which considering they’d had 6+ hours trapped in a car, a very emotional day and one has severe adhd and autism, talking was actually fine! If she had seen him on a bad day we would’ve probably been removed from the hotel!
We didn’t book for breakfast, I said to her we weren’t stood in a corridor and they were talking not shouting, we then left and went to our room.
I went back to reception to give the lady some feedback, explain it had been a long and very emotional day, that the children weren’t misbehaving they were talking, to be met with a very sarcastic “is there anything else I can help you with madam, we are on cctv madam and would you like to speak to my manager madam.”
I found her whole demeanour absolutely awful. I was telling her we’d had an awful, emotional long day, with children with difficulties and that she could’ve waited for the other guests to have gone and the mentioned about the quiet corridors in a different way, but she just kept saying “anything else I can help you with madam?”
The day was, as I say long and emotional, but also a day to remember because of what we did & with it being the first birthday of nans without her here. That receptionist has put such a massive dampener on my time and I can honestly say I went to bed livid.
On a day were the children have been bored, trapped and around very emotional adults I think them speaking in reception is more than ok. I actually had not long before told them how proud I was of them for how they’d behaved all day, only for some receptionist to act like they were running g riot and screaming down corridors.
I did myself no favours, as she was just continuing to be sarcastic, not listen or even say something like “I’m sorry if it came across as rude”. she just continued to be sarcastic, I did call her a name and stomped off to our room, not my finest moment but also the frustration of someone not even listening or even realising what she had done could appear rude got the better of me.
When I went to give the feedback I really just wanted her to realise how hard that day had been and how actually those kids had really done nothing but I was just met with sarcasm.
Ruined what would’ve been lovely as that will be what I remember from this trip.
Please train your one member of staff about unseen disabilities, especially in children and how to maybe speak to customers about things.
After 6 hrs of travelling spreading a family member’s ashes we arrived back at 9:30pm (Sat 8th). Myself, sister and 2 children were waiting in reception to book breakfast. The receptionist who was dealing with another couple with a baby told my children that they need to be quiet in the corridor as people are asleep. They were talking to us and not being noisy we would ourselves tell them to be quiet if there were being loud in a corridor. This has upset me as my children have been very behavioured on what has been a difficult day for our family and to have them spoken to in that way was not pleasant. My son has Autism and ADHD which is challenging but to have his good behaviour dismissed so blatantly infront of others is disappointing. We attempted to address the comment made by the receptionist who was further dismissive. As she stated you have CCTV so please check the cameras at this time and you will see how rude your staff member was to my family.
Very clean inside, extremely helpful & kind considerate staff. Has a lovely breakfast room run by the inn. The bed was very comfortable.
Everything about our stay was good
We were really blown away by the helpfulness and warmth of welcome at this Premier Inn. Amazing to get a balcony and a view too!
Very friendly staff very helpful especially Alex and Tracey helped us have a lovely breakfast before we set off for a busy day
The staff are helpful and friendly. The room was comfortable. I asked for the bathroom floor to be cleaned 3 times. It wasn't done, tissue on the floor, which wasn't pleasant.
It's not The Hilton, but you also don't pay like it's The Hilton. This very affordable hotel offers more than enough value for money. The beds are comfortable, the breakfast was very tasty, and the staff is extremely friendly and helpful.
Excellent location. Very clean room and lovely staff. The pub attached was lovely Excellent food and staff there too!
Highly recommended to others
Smell of weed in the hallway and out bathroom got flooded with soap
It’s an older premier inn but it’s very clean and well looked after. The staff were amazing.
I have to give a special mention to Cecelia, she was fantastic and so friendly and knowledgeable about the area. She recommended places to eat and get petrol. Nothing was too much trouble for her and she’s an absolute credit to the company! She wouldn’t have been out of place working in a top London hotel. We absolutely loved her. The other staff were also great but Cecelia was amazing!
Would definitely stay here again if we came to the area.
On arriving at this hote we were pleasantly surprised by the way it looked, as it felt like we had stepped back in time and that it was not your usual generic looking Premier Inn hotel. When checking in we was greeted by a lovely friendly receptionist who was very professional and couldn't do enough to help us. The room we were in was more than adequate for our stay on the ground floor with a balcony over looking the cricket pitch with a match in progress which my girls enjoyed watching. They enjoyed it so much they decided to have a picnic on the balcony rather then going out for dinner. The club house itself was not noisy or loud after the match had finished. We all slept like a dream, even my 10yr old, who likes to awake before the birds, stayed asleep longer than usual. We had breakfast at the hotel which was cooked to perfection by Tracey the chef and the waiter Callum was extremely helpful and down to earth. He was great ,lots of laughs and banter and very energetic considering the it was early . When we checked out we also met the high praised manger who was lovely and chatted with us and gave our girls a colouring pack for our long journey home. We will be making this a regular stop when we are travelling up from Cornwall heading to Kent. Cannot rate this hotel enough, and would highly recommend it .
Ok, so I knew this wouldn’t look like a regular Premier Inn but it is still a shock as the outside really needs sone updating and looks like a 1970’s office building. However, the welcome was warm, the staff incredibly friendly and helpful and the room was great. The bathroom was smaller than some of the newer Premier Inns however. As it was quite hot when we visited, there was a fan running in the room and we also were offered a sheet instead of the duvet which was very welcome. It is worth noting that this Premier Inn does not have the usual attached restaurant such as a Beefeater or a Brewer’s Fayre. The was however a pub next door called the Ship Inn and we had a lovely meal there with fabulous service. Breakfast is in the Premier Inn, they have their own breakfast room and chef. That was absolutely fine, the breakfast was lovely and it was actually nice not to have to battle with other members of the public to go up and get our breakfast. So, would we stay again? Absolutely yes, you just need to be aware that this is not going to be your usual Premier Inn stay.
The staff make this premier inn.
We stayed two nights and the staff we encountered were polite and helpful. For example, I phoned up to switch to a room at the back with a balcony overlooking the cricket ground (remember to bring your fold up furniture); we asked about parking on a Saturday night with the pub so close and how to get round the roadworks to the main car park; asked to borrow some cutlery for a picnic Saturday night on our balcony after a lunchtime event; went early for breakfast Sunday before 7am opening so we were on the road early. All these requests and questions answered positively.
Breakfast in the hotel's breakfast room was nice. I would've given this 5 out of 5 had the interior been in a better state. it really is battered. Our room really needed some tlc. Curtain linings needed a damn good clean, all walls and woodwork decorating, bathrooms grouting deep cleaning. Sort the battered interior then you are looking at 5 stars.
Outside (To front) of the building; the general state of the building and parking area was in need of a little TLC however the Hotel entrance was near to the carpark we used at the front of the hotel. Inside the building; the room and general areas were in very good condition, the breakfast area looks very new. The room was comfortable and very clean; the bed was comfortable with soft pillows and additional pillow available. A Hair drier and portable radiator available in the room, Wi-Fi was available but a little slow. Unfortunately, there was no evening food however there is a pub adjoining the hotel property (less than 1 minute away) joined by a walkway (the food in the pub was very good and reasonably priced). Breakfast was available in the hotel which we found to be excellent and well worth the money. All staff encountered especially the breakfast staff were very pleasant, efficient, and attentive to our needs.
The best Premier Inn ever.
The first floor has a balcony overlooking a cricket pitch. Lovely big windows.
Ceiling and Anna were the receptionists while we were there. They were the friendliest and most helpful of receptionists.
The pub opposite was good
The rooms, fixtures and fittings in the rooms are great and the standard one expects from this brand. The outer building however does look dated and a bit tired.
The important things such as the bed and bathroom very comfortable, clean and all worked well. No complaints at all.
Very minor point but had to ask for extra towels as I have long hair. However I do approve at minimising unnecessary waste and reception were very helpful and had extra towels readily to hand.
Due to limited space they are quite strict about breakfast time which when I’m on holiday rather than business is a touch frustrating - still if that’s the worst point I’m sure you can see that overall this Premier Inn meets the brand expectations.
Great staff, good breakfast and location good for travel to the south west. Downside the hotel did not have aircon, however the great staff prepared the rooms well to be cool enough to sleep. fan in room.
