Ayesha was incredibly helpful. Such a kind and helpful member of staff. Nothing was too much trouble. What a credit to your company!
Went to stay during the Rugby match which was ideal for our friends who we met there. The welcome is lovely from the staff, room was clean, small but comfortable enough. The lounge area and bar was average, but if you are vegan or vegetarian don't expect to have choice with food. Pool table was okay but the white ball kept getting stuck and it isn't free to play. Some of the sofas are stained and the floor needs a good clean. The TV was nice as you can get to choose what to watch and sit with friends. Comfortable enough, but taxi costs £15 one way to the city.
Vending machines are handy and there are stocks for feminine products and a few toiletries if required. not a bad place to stay for a couple of nights. Second morning the coffee machine broke and so we opted for tea which is a lot of money for one tea bag and a kettle we had to boil ourselves. No kettle in rooms which would have been nice or a free hot drink on arrival.
Reasonable price but let down with dirty room messy corridors with stained floor (very off putting) no advise re tea coffee in reception. I’m sure if l stayed again l could have a different experience but judging from this and my first stayed.
I have stayed here many times even though I have family here with spare rooms . I love how welcoming it is and how lovely the Staff are. I’ve recommended it to many of my friends and colleagues who have been. Big shout out to ayesha !!!
Nice and helpful personal, clean our room when we asked.
These hotel is basic dirty rooms no kettle have to pay extra for hot drinks and u can buy hot drinks at the bar but it’s like 3.00 for a hot drink then the food expensive food and it’s microwave meals then there is breakfast bacon is always overcooked and to crispy you can’t eat it then there is the room bed had bug bites on it and I was bitting bad by them I had to go to my doctor
I am giving this review due to trying different places to stay while working in Cardiff I was browsing the premier inn website and seen this place I thought for the money it was to good to be true but how wrong was I, on arrival the staff are absolutely brilliant bearing in mind its a busy hotel but they don’t rush you to get rid of you the rooms are decent mine had two single beds which can be pushed together if your a couple the shower is absolutely bang on boiling hot and powerful I also went down for food the food took a while to be served but when it comes out of the kitchen it’s piping hot and very well priced would I highly recommend this hotel very much so I have booked again for next week and I will continue to use this hotel for the foreseeable now till my contract comes to an end so I would like to thank all the staff for an enjoyable stay and the brilliant serve and hospitality
I am really impressed with the overall experience at this hotel. Nowadays affordable options usually mean you have to compromise, but this was just a slightly simplified version of the normal Premier Inn’s. Friendly reception staff, clean room, everything worked properly, honestly no complaints! If you are after a spacious room and lots of storage then this isn’t the place for you, but as a place to sleep when you plan on spending most of your time exploring the city it’s perfect! I would definitely come again if I ever re-visit Cardiff.
I’d never heard of a Zip hotel before but it met my requirements perfectly. I wish there were more of them as I’d use them all the time for work. Really simple in design but clean tidy and everything I need for a few hours shuteye. Yes the room is small and the twin beds not particularly wide but it was extremely practical.
Would definitely recommend at £66 for two of us plus breakfast (a bacon roll and coffee)
Checked into the ZIP with my friend for the weekend, just wanted to do some good cardiff shopping.
Greeted by absolutely lovely staff, unsure of names, one was a very lovely young woman with a big sparkly star in her hair and the other was a man with some pins (one including a black cat) on his lanyard and he was also lovely and helpful!
Helped us when we were a little worried when our card suddenly worked and explained the situation very patiently which was great as me and my friend are both autistic so sometimes might need a second or so to process something.
Room super comfy, nice and clean and had a really cool colour changing light. Just a perfect size for two people! Beds very comfy and bedding smelt clean and fresh.
I know that this is a cheaper version of a Premier Inn (which I've stayed at dozens of times) but I wasn't too keen.
No kettle for a cuppa, tiny bathroom.
The bed wasn't made up and quilt was just left folded on the bed.
I think I'll pay the extra for a proper room next time
If you are looking for a place to lay your head after an event and don't mind no frills this is the place for you.
Rooms are small but comfortable, out room was a twin and the bed was a little on the short side for me (I'm 6'2).
The shower was also a bit of a challenge being a bit on the small size, but perfectly adequate for a quick clean.
The common/bar area was clean, the drinks prices reasonable, I spent a not insignificant time reading a book in the bar area.
Location is what you would expect for a budget hotel, at the back of an industrial estate connected to a gym, however no noise keep me awake.
Service was great, staff were friendly and incredibly apologetic when I rocked up as they were cashing out the tills for a drink after my evening out.
In the future I will probably book two rooms for me and my son if I go again, but at the price still worth the cost.
Seriously can’t see the low ratings!
Bar good, food good for what you pay, staff really helpful! Bedroom is what is, parking superb, had sky sports to myself.
Not one for using budget hotels but just wanted a bed for the night, would use again 100%.
Get over yourselves if your not happy with this.
YES, booked this on-line, the website did not clearly describe that these rooms are 2 singles within some kind of pod, so could have booked only 2 rooms instead of 3, arrived at the destination and parked up, checked in, all staff great, this is where it all went downhill, when i opened the room door i thought, what the hell is this, no window, no kettle, and yes, more like the inside of a caravan, but i would say, at least a caravan has windows. £66 per room i think is a little rich when you have no kettle and no view of the outside, you even have to pay for a cup of tea, if you have mental health issues, STAY AWAY, i would say tho the shower and toilet operations where good enough, but very difficult to wash your face without banging your head on the shelf above, camp beds as i am calling them where okay for 1 night.
Sorry Premier Inn, what where you thinking when its all over the news and social media these days about peoples mental health, please dont continue building these without a outside view, and kindly provide free Tea & Coffee, surely you are not that tight
It's a good place been many times only one bad experience but give place a 9 out of 10 as long as i have top floor i am happy thank you
I really enjoyed the service at Zip premier inn… Milad and Evan where really nice and welcoming… they made me feel welcomed and comfortable.
Very clean room perfect cheap stay
Room was simple, and clean room.
Excellent service staff
Could do with a simple table to do work in the room. Otherwise nil complaints.
Crikey - it was one of the most surreal experiences of my life to stay in what appeared to be a cross between a laundry cupboard and a space age pod! To be fair to Zip I didn't know i was staying in a new type of Premier inn as someone else had booked this for me. On entering the room i thought i had walked into a broom cupboard by accident - The pros - it was cheap (but not that cheap when you added up the potential extra's). Free parking (first come first served) It was clean and the staff were nice. Also i did like the fact they had an ironing room - something you don't find in hotels - only on cruise ships. Now for the cons - tiny room no-where to put anything, no drawers, no wardrobe - just a ledge for your bag like you get on trains no kettle - but you could buy drinks at reception (self service - but pay cafe prices) You only got one pillow - if you didn't want a crick in your neck you had to pay £3 to hire another one. The bed wasn't even made. You only got one towel (no hand towel provided) - if you wanted another it was £5 to hire. And OMG no window (as i say i didn't know what had been booked for me so it was a surprise and not a pleasant one) The breakfast was £10.95 each day. Although i only paid £45 per night (i stayed two nites) if i'd ordered another pillow, towel, had breakfast on both days AND had two hot drinks on both days my total cost would have gone up by £38 - not quite the bargain you think you are getting. My advice - take an extra towel, pillow and a thermos flask to fill up on hot water at reception - and buy those little UHT milks they sell and places like B&M.
Generally really good, staff were professional and friendly and the whole hotel was pretty clean and tidy, with ample parking, the free Wi-fi is okayish but if you need good Wi-Fi may be worth paying the extra. Just a couple of small things light box in room wasn't working (which without having a window might have been nice) and the double room consisted of 2 single beds pushed together whereas a double bed would have been a bit more comfy. A bit more choice for breakfast might also have been good. Overall for the cost it was a good stay.
