I stayed here last weekend after enjoying a lovely evening on the quay, I was made to feel so welcome & staff went above & beyond to ensure everything was up to expectation.
Will definitely be returning in the future!
The restaurant was very busy but the staff were kind and hospitable and able to squeeze me in. The food was good Debbie was great, thank you
The hotel looks nice from the outside, and there's plenty of parking, however it's not being cleaned very well. There was fired mid on one of the stairs for 2 days, the corridors don't look like they get vacuumed more than once a week. The toilet was not cleaned, tiles in the shower were dirty, bedding was stained.
We had to go to a supermarket and buy cleaning products to clean the room. Would not stay there again.
The corridor and our rooms smelled of mold and damp. It really triggered our allergies. We notified staff and they already knew about the smell saying there was nothing they could do.
Room above constant banging from 1am-4am so had a horrendous night sleep. Discussed this with the receptionist in the morning as I know they offer a good night guarantee (refunded if you have a bad night sleep), to be told as I didn’t go down to reception in the middle of the night, they cannot do anything. Very unreasonable for them to expect me to get dressed in the middle of the night and drag two young children (3 and 5 years old), to reception to complain about the noise. Good night guarantee was not upheld
I arrived at the hotel after a 7 hour journey due to weather to be told I was 20 minutes early for early check in. Im a social worker and went to do my visit and got back at 5.30. I couldn't book in via the machine and was turned away from reception by the lady saying she was the only person here and to try. She seemed very stressed. When I could not check in via the machine she took my details, she was very curt and rude and when I asked about dinner she said I wasn't entitled under my booking, which I am
I waited 2 hours for a slot for dinner and asked for a gluten free menu, as I hadn't brought my phone.to dinner and to view the menu you need to scan for options. When I asked for a gluten free menu, I was given 3 vegan options menus and no gluten free options. This has to be the WORST premiere inn experience I gave ever had and will not stay in one again.
Extensive work including heavy machinery right beside the bedroom window commenced at 6:30, which was great considering late nights prior.
The room and bathroom was nice. Hair in food, plates and cutlery not clean. Poor quality food over priced.
Great location with free parking. Be aware that not all the rooms/floors have a lift to them and we ended up carrying our bags up two flights of stairs, as there was no lift in the building.
The room was awfully hot (in November!) at 26 degrees and this didn't change, even with the window left constantly open. All this achieved was a lot of traffic noise from the main road, all night.
Visiting family this hotel fits the bill for us.
Great staff who keep a great hotel - friendly clean comfy.
Great place to visit tourist places and a local on hand to wind down and eat in.
Me & my family stayed at the Premier Inn Holes Bay in Poole for 2 nights from the 21st of November.
We arrived at reception,We got our key card and went to our room & as it was late we unpacked & went to bed.
Next day we noticed discussing scenes in our room,Stains on the walls, floors and headboards,The carpet smelt bad like it needed ripping up,Holes in the sheets, marks all over the walls,There was also an issue with the heating as we set the thermostat to 20 but it was at 16 when we woke up & there was a terrible draft from the window. We went to the reception but it was unattended so we went out for the day.
When we returned reception was again vacant,we went to our room and the corridor smelt of strong marijuana,we entered our room to see it hadn't been cleaned and no fresh towels,I managed to find a staff member and they got me fresh towels and told me if I wanted the room cleaning we had to let reception know that morning but with the reception being unattended so often how could we.
At Breakfast we struggled to find a chair that was clean,They were all disgusting with stains and tears.
On Departure we noticed that the mattress was also stained & had a smell of strong urine.
We are visiting family again in February next year but we will not be visiting this hotel again
This stay was atrocious. Do not book here. We checked in on 21st November and left on the 23rd. These 2 night sleeps were unacceptable. Firstly, the walls were all scratched. There was a window ( that you could partially open,) but there may aswell have not been a window at all, and just a hole in the wall, as the draft was horrendous; obviously I went to the thermometer to up the temperature, but the thermometer was broken! It was stuck at 16° all night. I would higher it, I'd hear it heating up, and it'd click, but it was no warmer. I'd go back to the thermometer and it was back at 16°! The sheets were clean, but the mattresses on all 3 beds were foisty, sweaty, stinky and old. I wrapped myself up in bed, freezing cold, only to smell the sweat coming through from the mattresses. Aswell as the mattresses smelling, the carpet stunk too. This carpet must be 20+ year old: not vacuumed, coffee stains, bits everywhere, and the smell was revolting. We'd go out for the day, leave the window open to air the room, thinking it was us sweating overnight -and also the mattresses, as the smell had increased, but when we came back, the scent was the exact same. It was the carpet too. Mucky, old, and sweaty. The main double beds headboard had visible, sticky fingerprints and some kind of a substance dripping down it. Unacceptable. The table was peeling alot, and the mirror on the wall had a thick layer of rust surrounding it. The mattress on the double bed had what looked to be a poo stain on the bottom right corner of it! The camp bed had ripped bedding. The skirting surrounding everywhere, including the bathroom, has never been retouched, it was peeling and full of scratches and marks. The toilet seat had discoloured as it has been there for so long. It is yellow(it's suppose to be white). The shower was like a swimming baths shower. Very unpowerful. The towels were clean however. The supply of coffee and milk was too little. 2 small sachets of coffee, and 2 small packets of milk. Is this suppose to last us our whole stay? There was a black, curly, public hair looking at me on the wall as I had a wee in the bathroom, and there was more in the shower. Little staff around. There was only once a staff member available at the reception desk. There was also on the 22nd and 23rd a strong, very strong smell of weed pervading the whole of the hallway. All the way from room 1 to the end, as ours was room 46. It seemed to be possibly coming from room 41, as I belive it was strongest there, yet I'm unsure as it was everywhere. Overall this stay was 0 stars. The only good things, were the comfort of the beds, the quietness, and the clean towels and covers, but EVERYTHING else was hideous and extremely unhygienic! Wouldn't sleep here a night for free. It needs completely stripping and utterly redecorating! I am a very, very unhappy customer!
Excellent hotel and even better staff. We had minimal problems during our stay and when we did it was sorted out quickly and with a smile.
I arrived early but the receptionist let me into my room early. She was very helpful and polite. Hotel is in a good situation however the room looked a little shabby. I had dinner the first evening and it was ok. Had breakfast the next morning. It was dreadful. Cold and very dry. Had dinner in the restaurant the second evening and again it was warm not hot. Overall I wouldn’t go here again.
Had a great stay here the staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The room was clean and just what I expect from a premier inn. Easy to get into town for the party we went to and the views over the sea are amazing.
Have stayed in this hotel before about seven years ago and I couldn't fault it!
It's now seams to have had It's day, heating not working in the room so oil an oil radiator is now supplied extractor fan still noisy at night even when switched off.
Restaurant is an absolute disgrace, dirty seats that you can smell as soon as you sit down and one of the areas has the sealing starting to fail. Food is poor as well as service Restaurant is hardly used people get wise after the first night!
went toby carvery the next night, excellent food and service
under cooked eggs for breakfast, I like a runny egg but still want the white cooked not clear!
Apparently premier inn don't want to upgrade the hotel due to plans for rebuild, they best hurry up!
Won't be stopping here again, save your money and look elsewhere!
Great location awful place, shame they are loosing customers.
Hotel no too bad but very pushy to get you to book a table at the restaurant. Said no thanks at check in. Later went to bar for a drink, pushy yet again about booking a table & eventually said yes. Reply “ oh we’re very busy but could squeeze you in for 19:45”
80 mins after placing our order my pizza arrived, I asked where the ham was? Reply”under the cheese” well 2 pieces no larger than a 5p piece but even worse the dough was so under cooked I could’ve re rolled the dough. No interest from the staff as guess they’re used to it after an evening full of complaints. Could understand it if they’d been busy but it wasn’t even at 20% capacity despite giving the impression they were busy! NEVER AGAIN!!!!
This is a great hotel for North-west Wales, located convienently just outside the town of Porthmadog (& opposite the Ffestiniog/Welsh Highland Heritage Railways). It's a relatively modern Premier Inn and has two floors of 'Plus' rooms - always worth paying the extra fifteen quid a night for the extra perks. The only thing that lets this hotel down is the parking. Let's just say there's 150 rooms but only 50 parking spaces (my rough but honest estimate) so you don't need to be very clever to realise you'll be finding somewhere else to park other than the very small and inadequate car park at the hotel. Ok, there's a really big chargable car park about a 10 minute walk away but that's a ball ache if you've got lots of cases & it's pissing down! On the plus side however you'll get a great view if your room is at the back of the hotel (the mountains of Snowdon) or the front (the harbour, the heritage railway station and looking ovrt towards Portmerion). Staff are great and i'd mention two in particular. The amusing and friendly Rob who is front-of-house. The other is Ceinwen the breakfast cook. We stay at lots of Premier Inns, the breakfasts are usually OK (my gripe is the bacon is always undercooked and certain items can be cold). We've stayed at Porthmadog at least half a dozen times and you always get a great breakfast when she's on - yes, and her bacon is properly cooked!! If you consider staying in this area certainly contemplate staying here but bear in mind the parking issue
What a lovely time we had in our 3 days here clean tidy everyone very helpful and as for Leinwen the cook simply delicious thank you so much for making our stay comfortable and enjoyable
In need of a refurb. Reception helpful & friendly. Bed comfy enough but Prem Inn rooms are so hot even if you turn heat off & duvets are way too heavy.
My experience was amazing at this hotel, even though a little old, everything was good in the hotel, staff are wonderful always happy to help
Restaurant not so good, but were trying to please as best as they could
