Premier Inn Ashford Central

The room had a pronounced musty and mouldy smell, which made the stay uncomfortable. Despite informing reception, no alternative room was available, and the only solution offered was a spray bottle of “Daily Odour Eliminator” to mask the odour rather than address the cause.

While a gesture of goodwill was offered in the form of a complimentary breakfast, this was unfortunately not suitable due to dietary restrictions.

Using the odour eliminator only masked the issue temporarily, and by late evening we resorted to leaving the window open and the door ajar to ventilate the room.

By morning, the smell remained noticeable, so we decided to leave two and a half hours earlier than planned, as the room remained unpleasant to stay in.

Breakfast venue dated and not very clean. Found a large black hair among my bacon, couldn't finish it. Was offered another but didn't have the stomach for it

Stayed at many Premier Inns and they have all been pretty consistent. This one feels a little tired and in need of some TLC. It's saving grace was it's staff, those that we met, who were very pleasant and welcoming. Afraid the bathroom left a lot to be desired, in particular the soap dispenser which was dirty and very rusty and was the same in my son's room. Would not cost much to replace them. Didn't really want to use it to be honest. Otherwise OK but I have stayed in better..

Room had a wet mouldy smell, didnt get any better with airing out.
The hotel is located in a industrial area
Bathroom was worn but not the worst.
The food at the connected resturant was bland but they had great understanding of gluten free.

Overall was okay but wouldnt stay here again, especially at the price point.

Friendly staff, large room and comfortable bed (even if we had to search for extra pillows because there was just one each on the bed). Would have given a higher rating but breakfast left us very disappointed. We weren't told anything when we checked in but had a notice in the room saying it was open until 10:30. We were there for a wedding so had a very late night and only got to breakfast at 10:15. We knew it was a little tight timing wise so were just planning on having some pastries or other ready-made items but when we got there we were told it was closed. We weren't even given the option to grab something 'to go'. So basically we paid £22 for nothing, despite arriving during the advertised hours.

As a disabled person in a wheelchair the bedroom and wetroom were all that I could have wished for. Very clean. Even fitted my hoist easily

A modern hotel, which was clean and tiday with friendly staff. Breakfast is served to you at the table, which is unusual but nice.

Love this premier inn. Great staff and rooms. Local to outlet. Visiting family and friends. Clean and spotless . Will return

I had read some pretty poor reviews about this hotel, so my expectations were pretty low. However, it was a decent price and seemed acceptable as an overnight stop before an early start the next morning.
The hotel was more or less as described in other reviews - in need of some tlc, a slight musty smell everywhere, etc., etc. All of this I was aware of when booking, so no complaints really. However, what I wasn’t expecting was the appalling state of the toilet in the bathroom - see photograph. Absolutely disgusting, and obviously not properly cleaned for some length of time. There is no excuse for expecting paying guests to accept this level of filth, not to mention the possible health risks attached!
I reported this to the front desk staff.
I’m a long time user of Premier Inn when traveling to Europe. Sadly I will not be using Premier Inn again.

Car parking good. Location for getting to Dover ferryport in the morning also good.

Arrived at 10pm after a several hours' drive. As soon as I opened the door to the room, I was hit by the stench of damp mixed with some sort of floral air freshener. But overwhelmingly, damp.
No openable window in the room either, so no way to try to get fresh air in there.
I immediately returned to the reception but was told there were no other rooms as the place was fully booked. I was also told that several other guests had complained about the damp recently.
No suggestions on where else I could possibly sleep - helpful otherwise - were forthcoming, so I ended up sleeping in the car.
Would absolutely avoid.

Very helpful and friendly staf. I forgot my carkeys and the staf were really helpful. The matresses are also very good. Enough parking places

My previous visits with this hotel brand have been very good, until now, at the Ashford International Central location. The staff were absolutely lovely: friendly and helpful, and everything looked good at a glance, however, when I entered my room I knew there was a problem by the way it smelled. Everything looked as it should, but there was a definite stale smell in the background. As though the cleaning products were vinegar or something else very cheap. There was also dust on top of the wardrobe; dust around the bed legs on the carpet, and rust around the on/off switch for the lamp on the desk. Not a big deal as I quickly got used to the smell, but it was very unwelcoming, and almost puts me off going there again. I also visited their food place opposite, and had a nice tasting wine and a hearty snack, but the table was sticky and the venue looked not at all clean, and smelled stale: my issues at this Premier Inn did not exist at any of the other locations I’ve stayed at.
I won’t stay here again, although I’m willing to give Premier Inn another chance.

We stayed for 1 night as we got off the shuttle late. This hotel was ok but tired, the main hotel and rooms need a refurbished. Our air conditioning unit bubbled and banged all night but had to keep it on as we couldn’t open the window due to people smoking outside! The fan in the bathroom was so loud, we had to turn it off at the mains as it never stopped.
The bed was clean on arrival but we had a funny smell in the room. As it was so late we just sprayed some spray and got our heads down.
We again only had 2 cups for 3 people, what is it with primer inns and doing this!
Over all ok, but would recommend this to stay.

Such a shame that this is not one of the better Premier Inns. There is no WiFi in the main hotel as it’s currently broken and they clearly are in no hurry to fix it. The bathrooms have no shaver socket. The place is rather tired.
However the beds are comfortable and the air con works.
The rooms are mostly quiet.

Check in ok but staff member was busy on computer and I was left standing like a humpty for a few minutes.

Room fine but bedding on fold out sofa bed was stained. Was too late and up too early to get changed just took it off.

Great location for channel tunnel though about 15mins drive down motorway to check in.

Its a budget hotel that ticks all the boxes, clean, parking, wifi, restaurant available with the french connection next door (ask about the deal)
The pillows are a bit hard. There isnt much sound insulation between rooms. Its a two star hotel really but we had an ensuite bathroom and tea and coffee. Its tucked away on an industrial estate but still a nice clean area
For the price we thought it was really very good
Ensure you put you car reg down in reception for the number of nights you are staying.

A great stay. This is a hotel with a large extension so I cannot comment on the original rooms but the extension family room we had was fabulous. Really spacious. Fantastic aircon! Great location for the channel tunnel and free parking suitable for campervans.

Such a lovely hotel, clean and comfy rooms, the staff are amazing especially Katie! You feel incredible welcomed and at home even if you are staying for one night. 10/10 experience

Katie on reception greeted us with a lovely smile , she is very polite and helpful and great at her job wish there where more people like her in the world , the room was clean and tidy and perfect for a one night stay with my boys

Warm welcome following an easy check in. Room very clean and beds very comfortable. Easy parking and good location of hotel.
Breakfast was brilliant and a special thank you to staff ZAC who was very welcoming. Nothing was too much trouble for him and couldn't move after breakfast 😊
Need more Zac's around the world. Compliments to the chef, cleaners and all staff who maintain a well run ship. We will definitely be returning
