Hotel is on the left.
Poor quality breakfast. Rooms outdated but were clean. Staff exhausted due to the long shifts. Signage poor. Location was good no atmosphere at all.
The hotel is in a great location at a great price. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and tidy and we had a good nights sleep.
Right off the bat this hotel is wonderful to stay at! Caitlin on reception was so attentive and gave us the friendliest welcome. She is a credit to the team. The room was so fresh and clean, just what you expect from a Premier Inn. The hotel is a bit of maze but there are signs up showing where to go. We didn’t have food here so can’t comment on that but Florios is a great Italian spot! The hotel was quiet and had a very calm atmosphere.
Mum and I stayed in this Premier inn for 2 nights 11th-13th November.
This was our first time in a premier Inn , I was really impressed, the staff were really helpful and kind, especially Jackie at Reception, all the staff made our stay really memorable.
The room was clean and comfortable, and the hotel is in a prime position.
The food was great, especially the breakfasts.
Thank you for a great experience.
The room was lovely. The bed so comfy. The location is great. But...the breakfast... this was awful, hardly anything to choose from as it had all gone and not been replenished. We paid 11 pounds each and hardly had anything as nothing was available.
No staff that we saw actually keeping a check on what was left and what needed topping up. Felt like a total rip off.
Would never pay for a breakfast at a premier inn again
First time visiting scarborough .. use premier inns a lot and this was one of the best ones i've stayed in . Budget friendly and lovely & clean . Staff were helpful & the location was great , 10 min walk from the beach or 5 mins if you use the victorian tramway . lots of shops walking distance , a local newsagents is literally next door . starbucks across the road and a mcdonald's just up the street ! also recommend the cafe across the road , Emma's . they serve really tasty english breakfasts there .
I don't drive so the location was perfect for me and my son , 10 min walk from the train station .. we could get to the beach , the castle and restaurants easily . We stayed Tuesday to friday , the hotel was nice and quiet and the beds were comfy . Had 3 good nights of sleep . recommend visiting winking willy's for fish and chips and the ice cream at the harbour bar is amazing ! Plus a visit to the castle is a must :) will 100% be returning .
A very poor stay. The hotel room was very noisy because there was a connecting door with the adjacent room, so noise passed through easily. When I asked if I could change rooms, the member of staff told me that if I want quiet I should go somewhere else, because Scarborough has an alcohol and drink problem including in the hotel and that I should expect lots of noise. But that goes against the so called 'rest easy' and guaranteed sleep promise that we pay for by going to Premier Inn. I stay at premier inns a lot, including at airports and other city centres, and have never had issues before but I won't be staying at this hotel again. The member of staff was extremely dismissive of my complaint.
Love the location of this premier though the outside appearance is far from inviting. We stayed in room 132 which we found out was directly above the wheelie bins outside. These were extremely noisy at night time and if you want a lie in, avoid on Thursday…bin emptying day. Also, the bedroom doors are obviously self closing which makes for a noisy stay when those in adjoining rooms let them constantly clunk shut. Moaning over, you won’t find a better location in Scarborough and the rooms and cleanliness are what we have come to expect from a Premier. Free breakfasts this time was a bonus!
5 stars as it is your typical premier inn and you know what to expect, the hotel rooms are clean and beds are comfortable and the staff are friendly. We did breakfast in the brewers Faye attaches and it was lovely and perfect as kids eat free. Only one comment is that the hotel is a bit of maze due to it being two buildings joined together, once you get used to the route to your room it’s not too bad. I’ve seen people complain about checking being busy but there are several self service machines and we were one of two families checking in at 3pm during half term so we didn’t need to use these. Also there are two car parks straight opposite the hotel, one is a multi storey that offers long stay parking and a smaller pay and display in front that offers free over night parking, this car park has 4 EV spaces if you are looking to charge your car.
The hotel is in the heart of Scarborough close to everything you would want to visit. Ideal hotel for families and really well priced.
Booked a Premier Plus room so that we could have a fridge to store some milk and keep drinks chilled. Great location near to the town centre but also within walking distance to the seafront.
Lovely place room was very big, with a king bed and extra sofa to sit on. Large tv on wall with limited channels but we was able to stream to tv. Wifi is OK for you're phones but if you want to stream I suggest you pay the extra £5 for 24hrs which is really fast and is worth it. Location is very good with shops just round corner and if you want to go on seafront during the day use the tram just across from the hotel. Breakfast is lovely and I recommend adding it to you're stay. There's no onsite parking but there is a multi storey across from hotel and £12 for 24 hours is really good and car is safe.
October 2025. Great location for Scarborough right in the middle of the town. Plenty of eating places and bars around the hotel. 5 minutes from beach. Clean and comfortable nice rooms. Easy check in.
If you like staying in Premier Inns, this one is fairly typical, though tit is really two buildings made into one. This makes navigation around the maze of corridors and floors mid-boggling. Finding the restaurant and reception is challenging but the signage is good. The good bit is the full length bath and unlimited hot water. The breakfast is good too with attentive staff. I dislike the air conditioning and would much prefer a window I can open. The location is ideal for the shops, esplanade and pier areas. Hotel car parking is absent but the pay and display opposite is free between 6pm and 9am. Handy convenience store next door.
Great location - couldn’t get any closer to the shops - restaurants and bars plus the train station and for buses - Very warm welcome from staff - helpful - Quick and easy check in - Good size room on the Ground floor - Very comfortable bed - clean and comfortable - no road noise and the blackout curtains worked a treat - Great helping at breakfast with continental and full English breakfast - very busy hotel but no issues with my stay so would stay here again.
Noise level was totally unacceptable. Staff member upon booking in was abrupt and placed us in a noisy room. Another staff member told us there was a spare duvet under the bed - there wasn't.
We met our family members there and we all had a great experience, quick and easy check in and the hotel on the inside looks like it’s been recently refurbished very comfy bed, huge choice for breakfast, very friendly and approachable staff, we didnt realise how big the hotel was but everywhere was spotless, would definitely return.
We have stayed here before, but prior to the extension. Lovely location, ideal for what we come to Scarborough for. Lovely relaxed atmosphere, attentive staff should you need to them. Nice room and the best hotel bathroom we've had, great shower too. Brewers Fayre for the food and enjoy our free time and you'd arranged the sunshine too.
We visit Scarborough numerous times throughout the year, and have been going for years, always stay in the premier inn south bay, we wouldn't stop anywhere else ( we have tried other places) the hotel is lovely and clean aswell are the rooms, the staff go above and beyond, nothing is a problem for them, we are looking forward to our next stay in November, and a big thank you to Jackie for the chocolate 🙂
Welcoming helpful staff, clean comfortable room and ideally situated.
Excellent value, thoroughly enjoyed my stay.
Sadly a very run down place and in desperate need of a good clean 🧼 and refresh/pain!
Can be a very long walk to the restaurant if you in rooms 1-20 and as the accessible rooms are near the reception it’s a long trek and even if you go via the outside street that’s ok so long as it’s not raining ☔️
Steps to the front/entrance and no ramp access for wheelchairs!
Staff are friendly enough to and do their Job well. Just feel for them working in an environment which does not showcase Premier Inn in a good light. The restaurant is also very tired and breakfast can be very hit and miss as during the week it seems to take an absolute age for the buffet to be restocked yet on a Saturday it’s managed very well (maybe just the week we had but did change from Tuesday to Friday!
The evening meals are limited but were hot and did the job (mixed grill definitely a good choice and plenty with it)
Again Restaurant staff are friendly but overworked. As each evening they had only 1 person behind the bar and 1 on the restaurant floor!
