5 out of 5 as usual for this place! I’m a regular visitor to this hotel and Mia always makes sure we have a warm welcome! A+++++++
Absolutely brilliant Mia was so helpful and outstanding service I would definitely stay here again. The hotel was in a good location and it was also very clean
my experience at Blackburn South is always made a wonderful stay because of Mia on reception always very helpful and can't do enough to help no matter what I would be lost without Mia absolutely amazing young lady and is a credit to this site
Great hotel ideal for the football. Clean, tidy, friendly staff. Bedroom modern with a reasonable shower.
Shame the bar shuts at 10pm even for residents seems very early for a Friday evening.
I was in town on a business trip and had a long, busy night. Fortunately, I was assisted by a wonderful staff member named Mia, who was incredibly helpful with any issues or concerns I had. She was very welcoming and made the experience smooth and pleasant. Overall, a great stay with no complaints.
The staff are the best I’ve ever experienced above and beyond what is expected of them ready and willing to assist in any situation quick to respond to emergency bell ready and willing to help and most of all happy and friendly home from home
The breakfast was terrible. First day I had a full english. The bacon and the poached eggs were ok but the mushrooms were swimming in fat. The black pudding and hash browns were awful as well... fat literally squirted out of the black pudding when i put my fork in in.
Second day i just had poached eggs and bacon. this time the plate was flooded with water from the poached eggs which the bacon was swimming in. I put my toast on the plate and it went soggy...
probably the worst breakfast i have ever had.... i can't believe i paid 10.99 for that.
What you expect from a premier inn, mostly all the same layout and rooms. Here the staff are amazing, helpful and friendly. Stay here a lot and always spot on. Thanks to all the team for making us welcome.
MIA HAS BEEN INCREDIBLE , we have been staying here a few weeks through work and the staff have been so helpful during this time , mia especially nothing has been to much trouble and is a pure asset to the company
Judging by some of the previous Tripadvisor reviews on here, we were not expecting good things. However, when we arrived we were really surprised as everywhere was thoroughly clean with no dodgy smells as previously described!
Mia on reception duty had a lovely smile and was really welcoming to greet us. We had a minor issue at check-in but Mia swiftly dealt with this to our satisfaction.
We had booked 2 accessible rooms one of which had the Premier Inn's usual modern decor but the other was extremely old and dated, dimly lit and a bit oppressive. All of the rooms should be decorated with the same design brief, regardless of size/shape.
We have to say though that the rooms were spotlessly clean and we had the best night's sleep in both rooms. 10/10
We had our evening meal and breakfast in the Brewers Fayre restaurant located above the hotel (you can walk through the hotel into the restaurant without going outside). The previous reviews we'd read about here too weren't good either but again we found the restaurant to be clean, staff were attentive and the quality of the food was good. Couldn't fault it.
This is our second visit here. It is very different now a couple of years on. It used to look like the photos on the website. Now the decor and furniture are tired. The bed was not that comfortable. The shower gel dispenser didn’t work. The desk lamp was broken. There was only one bath towel and it wasn’t all that clean round the sink. It’s probably adequate for workers whose firms pay for rooms but it was a disappointing stay for us.
Parking available and helpful staff, but they are the only positives! Rooms did not seem clean, bathroom smelt awful and had to buy air freshener and cleaning products to get rid of the smell! Requested room clean but wasn’t done. Air conditioning didn’t seem to work and was very noisy! Wouldn’t stay again!
While the Premier Inn Hotel was not the cleanest one I’ve stayed in, my 3 night stay was made much worse by the eating facilities. The restaurant was filthy, the floor was so sticky in every part of the area that it was difficult to walk in trainers or shoes because my feet literally stuck to it. The clean glasses still had traces of lipstick on and the tables were also sticky and covered in crumbs even when I was the first down to eat for breakfast. My company paid a lot of money for me to stay there and booked in the ‘meal deal’ allowance. However, each day I was told “you’re not showing as having a meal deal, there’s nothing on our system for your room number” and the staff always blamed the hotel staff for not doing their job properly. I was therefore told to wait aside everyday while someone physically went and confirmed next door with the hotel. When they tried ringing the hotel reception there was no answer. When they eventually confirmed daily that I did have a meal deal, I was then ignored until everyone else in the queue in front of me was served. I felt totally embarrassed and the staff even stated that the situation with the lack of communication with the hotel was “stressing them out”. Overall the customer service was really bad and I was made to feel like a nuisance. The bed and towels were clean, but everything else was filthy. I would not recommend eating anything here or staying longer than 1 night
Have stayed at a lot of Premier Inns and this was one of the best. Booked a one night stay for two family room as travelling as two adults and four kids. Check in was great, warm and friendly
The family rooms are brilliant, with an extension to room which gave us lots of extra space. The room was clean and beds comfortable. There was two fans provided to keep the room cool. The golden tickets left on the kids pillows to recieve a prize from reception was an added bonus and the kids loved it.
Breakfast was good, lots of choice and fresh food. Although it was busy as open to the public and was a weekend day.
Even when checking out the staff were friendly and pleasant. Great customer service. Would definitely stay here again.
Breakfast is meant to open at 7 o'clock on weekends but it opens at 7.20 am, we had to be in Southampton for 11 o'clock so we asked if we could cancel breakfast at 6.30 am the answer was no but at 7.10 am it was a yes. Which had made us 40 minutes late. In my opinion a bad stay
Our rooms smelt strongly of vomit and the carpet was wet.
Understand that people being sick is out of the hotels control but rooms shouldn't be sold until they are properly cleaned and no longer smell.
The hotel is conveniently located near to the motorway. There is a large carpark with severai disabled spaces. I had an accessible room with a lowered bath. The room was very clean, the bed was very comfortable and breakfast was really great value and well cooked.
Friendly staff nice food , nice location for my working away from home trip.
Enjoyed Friendly conversations. With bar and waiting staff.
Room was clean and tidy and breakfast was well presented.
Easy access to motorway both directions .
Altogether a very nice place to stay
I had an enjoyable stay at this hotel on a Saturday evening at the end of March. The check-in process was fast and easy with a friendly receptionist. My room was clean, tidy and had everything that you'd expect. I ate in the Brewer's Fayre restaurant in the evening and had breakfast the following morning. Both meals were delicious and the restaurant staff were friendly and helpful. I certainly won't hesitate to stay again in the future.
Great service and great room. Staff were helpful and friendly. The bed was really comfy and we had a great sleep, the black out curtains were great. Had a lovely meal in the evening and breakfast in the morning was nice. Also we didn't have to check out until 12 which was great.
