Didn’t use parking, but shopping was close by.
We stayed at this location to be close to Kings Theater for an event at the theater.
It was close and convenient for that purpose.
The challenges and disappointments with this location were pretty big.
It’s in a rough neighborhood. At this time (late summer 2025), there’s a lot of homelessness surrounding this area. There’s a lot of folks living with some mental health challenges out in the public. Most people in the community were great, kind, and welcoming. You can see that the permanent residents are working on it.
If you’re sensitive to the grittier side of urban neighborhoods, this isn’t the place for you.
The food and culture in the surrounding area is amazing. Totally worth it for that part of the visit.
The hotel facilities were adequate.
They could not be described as comfortable in any way.
The bed was literally broken.
The mattress was so worn that sitting on the end of the bed or the side of the bed was like sitting in a tire swing.
The television was broken and would not power up.
The power outlets beside the bed were broken and non functioning.
The main hotel WIFI was broken, but an alternative was provided.
There are no lamps, or alternates to the fluorescent overhead lighting.
The no smoking & no vaping policy seems to have minimal enforcement, as our floor smelled of marijuana every day.
Our room was cleaned 1 time during our stay.
There was a used hand towel and facecloth leftover in the room from a previous visitor.
Staff in the lobby was okay. We did not get any sleep due to loud noises and disturbances on the floor. Please do better.
Property central to visit family while traveling. I hate staying with others. I know this community well, having lived here for 39 years. Flatbush stays extremely busy all year long. Room was average, clean, bed rested well. Breakfast is mediocre. Nothing served hot, just average cereal, fruit, yogurts, bagels, toast, coffee, tea and juices.
Front desk interactions not too welcoming. Shower water stayed hot. There was lots of screaming in the corridor that was very distracting. It ended before I rested.
The room was very much like a dorm room. One overhead light, no reading lights next to the bed. Nothing on the walls so the room seemed very sterile with no warmth whatsoever. The check in counter was behind plastic and you had to speak through a monitor and put your paper work through a slot at the bottom made me feel that we were checking into a hotel in a rather sketchy neighborhood. The breakfast room was full of plenty of different things, but it had the same sterile quality.
Overall the place was good. Clean and neat, quiet over night.
However the smell of what i beleive to be marijuana or similar drugs was overwhelming when we walked into the room.
Very convenient and easy but the breakfast needs to improve other than that I am for sure going to book again
Breakfast was good several options, room
Was very spacious and worth the price and very close to stores eating and bus stops
The bed was comfortable. However, there were very few amenities - no hair dryer, no iron. I also slept right by the elevator shaft, so it was a bit noisy.
Good
Good
Staff was friendly
No air conditioning in room 401. No way to open a window,
The shower head was off on the shower asked for it to be fixed said maintenance wasn’t available
We wanted to be near our son's apt, and the reviews were great. We booked the upgraded king room “with snacks,” assuming we’d be in good hands. We weren't. The term perfunctory is high praise for this place. The best I can say is that we weren't shot, stabbed or mugged and we had a toilet. The “lobby” area of the property keenly resembled the entrance to a New York restroom, the “reception” desk was tucked behind thick bulletproof glass (real comforting) with literally no way to hear what the clerk was saying. He had to open and stand in the doorway of the the locked enclosure to talk to me when I asked where I could safely park my car for the night as the signs indicated street cleaning from 3am-6am. “You have to look at the signs,” he mumbled. We drove a half mile away and parked in a garage before taking our lives in our hands walking back. The two 20-year-old uninterested cops who were loitering in the entryway when we returned didn't bother to ask if we were guests. It was 11pm. We made it to our “cell.” The overhead light, the only one in the room, was so interrogationally-bright, it lit up the block below. I supposed it was to make up for the lack of bedside lighting. I've never stayed in a hotel that didn't have a sconce or light by the bed. That upgrade with snacks? A lie. We had to pay for the water. No amenties come to mind. Don't book this "hotel." Find an established one run by people who understand the difference between a hotel and a grunge youth hostel.
Nothing
Was an adequate stay. Hotel was basic with soft drinks available at the front desk for purchase. Hotel was clean and well kept. Did not feel safe outside after dark...but that has more to do with Brooklyn than it does RedRoof. I would not hesitate to stay again.
I booked this hotel for the fact that it was in front of the kings theater. I had an event there where it was convenient to walk across the street.
The room I reserved had the view of the theater which was awesome. The cleanliness of the room was okay the floor seemed to be a little dirty. The room was on the smaller side too but it did the job. I did notice the staff had cleaned the room while I was away which I wish they had given me the “do not disturb sign.” There is also no parking so I had to find a parking garage nearby.
Overall the stay was pretty average. They did have a breakfast included which was nice. Bagels and boiled eggs with coffee and juice. I did like the convenience of being right infron rod the theater plus the window view of the theater was the cherry on top.
The area is lively and full of culture. New York will be new York the city never sleeps. I enjoyed my stay will come back soon.
The property is fine, now nost lobbies have plus seating and beautiful areas, this hotel has something that resembles the entrance to a jail...now maybe the location influenced the lack of care for that area. My room was perfect! No issues at all, do i wish there was a microwave ofcourse! But its not strange to not have one in a room these days. My experience was 9 only bc of the lack of a microwave, the area is gritty and if ypure not used to city life i can imagine it might scare you, me i was fine, everything is at arms length..food, shopping, transportation. Ill return if needed.
It was clean and quiet!!
