Clean rooms and staff was very helpful however the room did not have microwave nor a safe.
There was nothing provided as far as hotel accessories go, for an extra towel you had to pay. There is nothing in walking distance and you need transportation any where you go. Staff was receptive but amenities suck.
Clean rooms and amazing staff , I highly recommend this place , so peaceful and quiet.
Loved this hotel. It is apartment style - would be great for long term stays. 7 min scooter ride from the beach. Nice pool and private pool at many of the rooms. Very convenient to be able to rent quads and scooters from there. Helpful concierge!
This hotel is beautiful, very modern and spacious. I loved having my own pool area. The concierge was very attentive. The only issue is there isnt much near the hotel. So its necessary to have transportation to get around.
Highly recommend don’t stay here even if you’re a VIP Member w/ Expedia. I was not treated like VIP as well they rent you atv & scooters with expired tags. Spiders & ants was all throughout the apartment and the hot water doesn’t work and at Random times they cut your electricity off & the staff is only there from 10am-5pm
Beautiful property, service was excellent. Definitely would book again. The only downside is that Tulum is going through a lot of change and There is just a lot of construction going around.
Kurt and all the staff friendly and awesome !
BRAND NEW NICE AND CONFORTABLE PLACE!
Very enjoyable room
The staff was very accommodating. New property nice and clean great location. I definitely will come back.
Horrible I had a 7 night stay here and the first day while trying to check in there was no power I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt and believed them as they am told me a story about a festival in the city that made the power go out and there was no festival the front desk guy Kurt was horrible and useless. He avoided me when I tried to get a refund. Out of 7 nights I stayed 4 and every night and morning the powers would be out and through out the day. And when I asked for a refund back for 4 out of the 7 nights because we didn't get to sleep or anything they refused and argued until they finally agreed to give 50% back even though we left on the 3rd day they were so unprofessional and lacked everything in a good hotel they charge for towels even when they have no power I can go on and on about this hotel but trust when I say this do not book with this place and the owner tried to hide what he was saying by speaking Spanish and didn't know I understand everything he was saying so stay away from here.
Less ‘eco-chic retreat’ and more ‘eco-shock reality check
What we thought would be a hidden jungle gem turned into a seven-hour headache of escalations with Expedia and a property that simply wasn’t ready for prime time. Power outages in 95-degree Riviera Maya heat left us with no A/C, no fridge, and spoiled food — a nightmare when traveling with a one-year-old. The property did have a backup generator, but the staff admitted it was only for lights and water, not comfort, because ‘it costs too much to run.’ That’s not just poor planning, that’s a health and safety hazard.
Expedia compounded the issue by dragging their feet, refusing to honor the VIP badge guarantee, and offering little beyond scripted apologies and a refund runaround. In the end, no platinum perks, no real solutions, and a week later I was still chasing my deposit. The staff on-site was polite but overwhelmed, the A/C units underpowered, the so-called private plunge pool laughably small, and parking unsecured. What you get is essentially a basic apartment block with a nice paint job and a pool in the middle — not a VIP-worthy stay.
Don’t go to this property, when I arrived no electricity or running water for 7 plus hours, They told me the government was having a festival downtown and needed more electricity so they shut it but there still was a problem with the transformer so that was another obstacle and it was a 100 degrees and all around the hotel they are doing construction,I had to leave and find another hotel to stay at.Don’t waste your money
The location was nice. The power went out twice & nobody had an answer for what was going on all night. Once everything was fixed it was nice
Pésimo y NO recomendable!
Very nice would stay again!
Overall beautiful place. Pool could be a little softer from bottom, and maybe some
Steps to get out for a more kid friendly. :)
Wonderful stay! Zero complaints and plan to return again and again! Beautiful, small apartment hotel close to the beach, 7-11 right down the road. Phase two going up right next door. Expect some construction noise during the day. A car is highly recommended (mine was essentially free with stay through Orbitz - I only paid for insurance). Room had everything I needed - stocked kitchen (only thing I would recommend is a microwave), gorgeous bathroom, plunge pool, comfy bed (I’d recommend a mattress protector) - just beautiful. Property is stunning and pool is warm and beautiful. Property communicated great through WhatsApp and sent recommendations for beach clubs, cenotes, etc. Tulum airport was a complete breeze - through customs in 10 minutes. Loved this stay. Thanks so much!
It was a pleasurable stay. The gentleman at the reception was very polite and friendly. The whole staff was attentive and helpful, friendly and professional. The hotel is very clean, the rooms are immaculate and are more than just a room, mine was a studio apartment. The pool is cleaned daily and the public area is immaculate. I definitely recommend the Otonomus hotel for families and solo travelers. There is a whole new set of condos being constructed next door, but you’ll only hear the noise during work hours, which most likely it’s the time guests are out and about town. It never bothered me as most of my days were spent out on tours. They also have scooters and bicycles for rent. Overall, a wonderful stay.
