Central location and excellent for walking into the city - parking was a real bonus , very secure and safe.
Staff members very personable and professional.
My only comment would be that the dining menu could be improved to consider a main course offer of Steak / Salad and Fish ? - that said the food was very good and I throughly enjoyed my supper, the wine was excellent too.
Lovely room, everything we wanted, dog friendly and easy parking
Resturant with rooms... our room was clean and comfortable.
Great size towels which makes a change.
Friendly staff and super helpful.
Car park is small.
Resturant was fantastic and highly recommend giving it a try.
Charming little place right by the river with views across to Salisbury. Warm welcome from the manager ( and his dog )Have already booked again for my next visit . Just a bit disappointed that breakfast wasn’t until 9am but the manager said he was looking at potentially changing this ,
As always, a great place to stay and within easy walking distance of Salisbury. This was our 3rd stay here. Staff have been great on each visit and gone out of their way to look after us.
Beautiful surroundings and unique property. Easy walking to Salisbury Cathedral
Lovely hotel and view out of bedroom window
A great place to stay. Was perfect. Staff so helpful. Salisbury City just a short walk along the town path.
Lovely old building on the river. Easy walk on town path through scenic Harnham water meadows, with views of the Cathedral, to the city centre. Great to have free parking for clients. The room had everything you need, hairdryer, tea & coffee pods, good bathroom and products. Our room looked over a roof, a view would have been better, but booked late. Some noise from below, but all quiet after 10pm and slept very well.
Friendly staff in the dining room, enjoyed evening meal & breakfast.
Cannot recommend this place highly enough! Wish we had stayed longer. It's the perfect picturesque English countryside inn and pub. The food, atmosphere, and staff were all perfect. They even have delicious vegan breakfast!
Had a good 1 night stay. Staff were great as I had made a mistake when booking but they happily sorted this out with no fuss at all. Restaurant is closed 2 evenings a week but they have a great hut in the beer garden serving pub food which was really good, thankfully it wasn’t raining. Room was very clean and a good size. It even had a Dyson fan in it. I would definitely recommend.
Something a bit different, an old converted mill where the water still passes through the restaurant!
Staff were spot on, nothing too much problem.
Building is bent and twisted with age, so not much is straight and uneven squeaky floorboard adds to the character.
Breakfast is in the bar in the morning, evening meals either in the restaurant or in the large beer garden, over looking the mill stream.
You can also have a beer sitting out the front, watching people pass on the busy town walk path, the town being 15/20 min walk through a nature reserve, leading to a park and the town beyond.
Local kids having a great time playing in the expanse of water coming out of the mill, as the water is very swallow, knee deep at the deepest, but most ankle deep, so very safe.
Room are comfortable and we had a room over looking the water outlet from the mill, so it was very restful listening to the water flow into the river.
The bathroom was very clean with plenty of very hot water for showers.
All in all a very pleasant stay.
Staying in a 12th century Old Mill Hotel was unique! Room was a good size, bed comfy and property very clean. Choice of restaurant and bar food depending on the weeknight. Good sized servings. The water for the mill runs through the restaurant. Large seating area at rear. New owners and staff are very friendly and hard working and accommodated us firing up the pizza oven when we arrived late for dinner when the kitchen had closed. Location is great and it’s a short walk to Salisbury Cathedral which is not to be missed.
Very friendly manager on checking in. Comfortable bed and white bed linen. The only snag was that breakfast is served between 9 and 11. We had to leave at 8 in the morning so left without breakfast. Such a shame. We did ask if there was a possibility of an earlier breakfast, but, unfortunately the chef couldn't accommodate our request due to food prep for the lunchtime Sunday session.
All in all a lovely setting with comfortable beds, just a little disappointed with the breakfast timings, toast and cereal would have been adequate!
Most importantly staff were kind, helpful and friendly in both hotel and garden bar restaurant.
The hotel sits in a beautiful and quiet location easily accessed and simple parking. Easy access via traffic free footpath to Salisbury on foot. Suggest mapping App if you don't know the area.
Twin Room was clean and practical, but minimal. En suite bathroom was okay, but shower not great especially for taller people. The provision of towels and toiletries was of good standard. Tassimo coffee machine and bottled water provided was again good, but compact twin room didn't really lend to sitting and drinking coffee.
Evening food menu was okay and a nice outdoor beer garden, but Salisbury worth the walk for wider food variety.
As we stayed a single night and left early the serving of breakfast no earlier than 9am was an irritation. Although it became evident Salisbury has very few options for breakfast before 8am!
Overall a great location with good staff, and potentially better rooms than the twin we stayed in. No complaints, but have just stayed in better accomodation hence the average rating.
Room was very clean and well appointed just needed more lamps as the room was dark. Location was perfect.
Beautiful old building with a lot of history. The staff couldn't have been any more helpful and were all very friendly.
Great people, manager good. Hot weather and there was a Dyson Air Fan in the room. Very good. Did not eat but, great location. Call the hotel rather than book through Expedia save £20!
Lovely family run pub cosy room fabulous settings views of the cathedral
A beautiful spot and the manager could not have been.more helpful. The hotel has recently been reopened and there is still some upgrading needed to the bar area but the restaurant was very attractive and the old building stunning
