Great vibe. Comfortable bed
Great stay , awesome rooms
We had a great stay! Located in the downtown area of a small town. Just a great place to stay with multiple rooms. Went to the coffee shop just a few steps away, and what a great place to have a coffee. It will not disappoint.
Check-in and check-out were a breeze. The host was extremely responsive to messages. Would absolutely stay again!
Great stay
Awesome richly old hotel. So unique. The mattress is incredible...I had issues getting up!!! Love it
Will stay again! Enjoyed every part of our visit.
I mean no disrespect to the owners, but this place wasn’t the vibe for us. My daughter and I were road-tripping for her senior trip and booked this “city view” room for a great price. The decor? Beautiful. That’s where the good surprises ended.
Velvet Woody is in a tiny town about an hour from both OKC and Tulsa. When we arrived around 7pm, the cute coffee shop and BBQ place mentioned in reviews were closed. Our dinner options were fast food, gas station snacks, or an Indian place in a half-abandoned gas station.
Check-in is via digital lock on a glass door off Main Street. It took 4 tries. Inside: silent. No staff. Just a stairwell and keys hanging on hooks. Very DIY. Room 5 had big windows that technically offered a “view,” but “city” is generous. The amber lights flickered like candles. It was… unsettling. Maybe haunted? Our spidey senses said no. We left and booked a Marriott in Tulsa instead. God bless Marriott.
We lost the $90... no travel insurance, and I doubt “the vibes were haunted” is covered. But lesson learned.
3 stars: The listing wasn’t dishonest. It’s clean, self-check-in was disclosed, and the place is stocked with towels and soap. Just maybe not for everyone. Bring salt and sage.
I liked the Victorian style. The automated entry without staff is weird. But no issues entering. The staircase at entry was not expected. A couple of guests helped me with my bags. If you have difficulty with stairs don't stay here. Nice kitchen/ common lounge. My bed was big but mattress was hard. Spacious room and very clean.
love the historic features, like steeping back in time
Historic building in downtown tastefully restored and appointed. HUGE clawfoot soaking tub in one unit. Large common living/dining/full kitchen area.
Very cool and unique hotel in an area you would not expect. There is no front desk and I have some trouble using the keypad, but the owner contacted me quickly and I was able to get in. So glad I made choices rather than the usual corporate stuff.
This is a 1930's renovated building with 6 beautiful rooms all with your own sitting area. There is also a sitting area/ comm area that has a kitchen, tables & tv area. We had a wonderful stay & will definitly stay again. There are several decent restaurants within walking distance as well as a beautiful coffee shop, the Mosaic Grind that had really good pastries. I dont drink coffee so I cant offer a review but it smelled good.
The price was excellent & the house keeper was a gem.
