This has been sonehwere that is dabgerous to even try and 1). Check in with email confirmation. 2). Has a tv that has a wokring TV
The room was nice however the carpets were dirty stained and the stairways dirty.
However the most disappointing part was the noise. This is right opposite a very noisy pub and the windows are single glazed. The noise went on until after 2am. I ended up sleeping with my AirPods on noise cancelling mode.
The shower room also offers little privacy with no blind and only privacy glass on the bottom half. We were on the top floor however there were windows opposite so people in these could have seen us showering.
Friday/sat. Nit😒 because hotel is located on street with 4-5 night clubs open until 3am-lots of street noise.
Good overall, location, comfort and the sky tv was a great bonus!
Pros: Location very good, close to excellent car park, cathedral and other town centre attractions. Very comfortable, bathroom very clean and nicely decoratedand modern.
Cons: no Wi-Fi therefore no television as it is sky TV. Went to bed early as we had done a lot of travelling and work and was awoken at 9 pm with a man in our bedroom. He said he was checking as there was a fire alarm there was no alarm sounding and no issue in our room so I was a bit shocked. With hindsight, I think he was genuine, but he had no identification or uniform on.
Central location for sightseeing. Plenty of pubs and eateries, shopping is good. Car parks are all about 5min walk away.
Lovely room, well situated in a vibrant area, decent shower, tea/coffee in the room. We were in room 15 overlooking the garden of the cocktail bar downstairs, with the window close we could not hear any noise, the soundproofing was great. A lot of effort has gone into the rooms if they are all this good. There is a lighting problem in the communal area as you come down the stairs but we have torches on our phones so it wasn't an issue. We'd happily stay here again.
The entrance and stairway were grubby and there was hair in the hand basin.
When we arrived the room was fine on further inspection it turned out that the TV wasn't connected to the Internet which took me ages to work out using time I could of used exploring, the room could use a lick of paint it's quiet tired looking and a hand rail would of been handy for getting into and out of the shower also the stairs upto the room are quite steep but other than that it's OK and convenient for the local attractions.
Great price.
Good location.
Clean place.
Quiet rooms.
The only thing i didn't like was the check in information wasn't clear enough in advance. there was no one to speak to when I arrived and just check my e-mail to see their phone number or anything to contact them and found out that i just received an email telling how to enter the building. That e-mail should be in advance for clear instruction.
The hotel calls itself a boutique hotel, and the room amenities were pretty good for a few nights away with work. But the location, whilst it looks pretty, is not a great place to be. I felt unsafe as a female solo traveller and so left earlier than my non-refundable stay.
Despite numerous attempts to contact them, I have not received any response, hence this bad review (which I hate to do publicly). If you're getting your head down for the night, its good value. If you are a female traveling solo, I'd be cautious
Charged me all week for breakfast but no breakfast included, a month later and I’m still chasing MY money back so so disappointed
Opened external door and was hit with a stale smell, carpets stained in hallways, which needs decorating. Room smelt, dirty carpets, bed broken. Husband had a low immune system so we could not risk staying, turned around deposited key back in key safe and left.
It was a nice room, couldn’t get hold of anyone, couldn’t get in before 3.30 unless paid 25.00
Great value for money. Lovely room with great facilities and incredibly comfortable.
Room let down by the noise. Single glazed windows and no noise proofing. Bar noise to go to sleep and seagulls at sunrise.
Such a shame as the room was great.
Comms about the checkin was not clear - so was hard work
No soap in the room - hard to get resolved
Wifi and hence TV not working - did not try to get solved - had been enough effort to that point
Room decor was modern and new
Poor access to rooms. Very hot room even with windows open. Noisy. Small bed. Broken toilet seat. No TV connection or WiFi It was that bad didn't even spend the night there had to find alternative. Over priced.
AVOID ST ALL COSTS
Property is not fit for stay. Broken kids bunk beds, half eaten food in drawers and cupboards, broken sofa, sharp broken chair - especially if you are a family do not book this glorified hostel. There is nothing boutique about this place. We were here for no more than 10 mins and my child ended up with a bump to the head and bruised back from the bunk bed and chair .
Self check-in using lock boxes - not a fan of this. Very steep and narrow stairs to access room. Bathroom had not been cleaned properly as the shelves were dusty. Overall room was okay, very difficult to make a hot drink without spoons though. shows offsite parking at £5/day, but doesn't tell you where, ended up costing me £12 for the night. Doesn't mention it is on top of a bar that's open til 2am so expect a lot of noise. Expected to strip beds as per room info, not quite a standard hotel experience.
Checked in, no room upgrade needed as provided, wifi didn’t work, neither did the TV and there were no towels in the room. Given access to another room (eventually), but very poor hotel. Would not recommend.
