I recently stayed at this hotel overlooking Lake Lugano, and I have to say—the view is absolutely breathtaking. Waking up each morning to the shimmering lake and surrounding mountains was truly unforgettable.
The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, always ready to help with a smile. The breakfast was also quite good, with a nice variety of options to start the day right.
One thing to keep in mind: the hotel is located at the top of a mountain, which makes for the amazing views, but also means you’ll need to navigate a steep drive to get there. Avoid taking Valmara Road if possible—it's very steep, narrow, and quite challenging to drive, especially if you're not used to mountain roads.
Overall, a fantastic stay with scenery and service that make the climb worth it—just plan your route carefully!

Kamer en hotel is wat gedateerd, maar dat geeft juist de charme aan het verblijf.

Charming hotel which has it's quirks but that's all part of the experience with fantastic staff who made us feel very welcome and satisfied.

The view was fabulous and the food was terrific and the staff were brilliant.

The road up to the hotel is not for the faint hearted (Strada da Valmara) so take their advice on how to reach the property if you are not very confident with mountain roads.

Sat nav took us through a very narrow but exciting route from the Swiss side but the majestic views of the lake were rewarding . It is an older hotel but rooms are spacious and clean. Very helpful and friendly staff,

Mi sono trovato benissimo,siamo stati accolti con calore ed il personale é stato moto gentile per accontentare ogni nostra esigenza.Ottimo il ristorante e non é cosi ovvio mangiare bene negli hotel.Vista panoramica,dal terrazzo dell'hotel, sul lago di Lugano mozzafiato.Un angolo di paradiso.

Only a stop over on way to como but was very pleased with my choice as were our friends as I do all the hotel bookings for our rd trips. Only one issue no kettle in room and as I’m an early riser I do like a coffee or two to start my day apart from that no issues.
