Great room just needed a microwave
We were in town for my grandfather’s funeral. We were so excited to see The Skowhegan available. The price was very affordable. Our room was perfect. Our view looked right over the damn and the American flag was lit up at night. We would definitely come back again. The only complaint is our code to the main entrance didn’t work. We got lucky on the first night and the employee from the beer garden let us in and the second night we were lucky enough to have a random man that was sitting in the lobby let us in.
Lovely lovely lovely!
Kitchen had a mini fridge and a hot plate beautiful hotel and easy to park
The good: clean room. Everything was esthetically pleasing.
The bad: Staff was via text. And somehow couldn’t read the prior texts so each text I sent resulted in a request for my name and reservation number. In the same conversation, sent literally the same minute as their response. There is no onsite staff. As such, the Building should be locked 24/7. But it isn’t. I had a stove, and dishes, but no way of making coffee despite being provided coffee supplies. No fridge, no microwave. No coffee pot. How was I supposed to get hot water? Make it make sense!?! One tiny trash can in a ‘suite’. None in the kitchen. The Walls are paper thin. Can hear everything.
Beautiful renovation and cool space BUT It was obvious that an employee had entered my room and used the bathroom (both lids up, hand towel used) and disturbingly crushed a beverage can and left it wedged behind the handheld shower! Very hard to relax knowing the space had been violated. Also, the clothing rack had been ripped out of the wall. The windows opened onto portasans for a construction site. Not great.
When we arrived the bed was unmade, shower was full of used towels, dishes in sink, ironing board still out used, both trash barrels full. We took pictures and submitted them thru text with kasa. It took over an hour to figure out what we could do. There was no other room with 2 beds, they said we could strip the bed next door and make it ourselves. After oking it with the manager, over an hour later, that's what we did. The housekeeping cleaned it the next morning and said a mix up happened with the cleaning orders. They said we would receive a refund of some sort from Expedia. Brand new hotel, nice place, but we paid good money, is that acceptable? Idk
Still under construction
The Kasa is a beautiful and well done hotel, however, there is something wrong with the bed in our room. It was like sleeping in a hole.
We stayed at The Skowhegan for our Son's wedding at The Barn at Loon Cove. It was very close to the venue and made travel easy. The rooms were clean and I loved the shower! Would recommend.
The Kasa of Skowhegan is an excellent place to get away. The main floor is complete virtual desk love it. Yes they are working on the upstairs three floors for apartments and Studios for leasing. I would recommend this place 1000% and Iis an excellent place to get away. The main floor is complete virtual desk love it. Yes they are working on the upstairs three floors for apartments and Studios for leasing. I will recommend this place 1000% and I will be back to book another room for a few more days when I fly back north thank you for it. It was perfect. The best part was the damn behind the place. It was beautiful.
Beautiful spot and rooms were gorgeous. A bit of a hassel getting in as everything is done online and codes wouldnt work and we had to call twice. No staff on site, so no one to contact about towels and the burnt out lightbulb on the night stand light. Other than that it was a great place and we hope to stay again!
Nice location, can walk to the very small town. Easy parking and quiet at night.
Hated virtual front desk. Hotel is still renovating, and noisy very early in the morning. Wouldn't have booked it had we known.
After booking a room (only non-refundable rate available), we realized the virtual check-in process is a lot more invasive than we thought. We had to take photos of a license (front and back), and do a 150 degree FACIAL SCAN on our phone. And when we got to the property, realized there's no front desk at all.
Worst thing is being woke up at 6AM in the morning because this property is still under construction.
The property has nice photos, but there's no way to contain shower water with that shower stall, so we had to wipe the floor with the towels. It's such a shame becuase we wanted to like this place, since it's the newest hotel in that area. But taking HUMAN out of a hotel business may not be a wise thing.
I loved that it was quiet
I would say Kasa is beautiful, the building and the rooms are amazing. The only issue i had is with the bathroom pocket door. Hard to open and close. Just needs to be adjusted.
Everything about this place was absolutely amazing! The room & view of the river was breathtaking. Everything was super clean and peaceful. My husband and I actually forgot the code to our room when coming back after a night out. It was 1am and within 10 minutes customer service was on the phone and helped us get in with no problems at all. I highly recommend staying at the skowhegan. We will definitely be returning in the future.
Great
First off the property is undergoing renovation, as it is one of Kasa's newest properties. The rooms that are finished and able to be stayed in are still brand new furnishings. The bed was amazing and extremely comfortable, and the couch was very comfy, as well. The rooms are modernized, and brought to the 21st century, all the while maintaining the old rustic structure of the brick building. I would recommend staying at the property for the experience, and the amenities!! It is unmanned and all virtual, with no host or hostess on the property. QR codes will be involved, but if you are tech savvy than it won't be a problem, and even if you aren't they make it pretty easy for you to check in!!
It felt brand new and it had a cool vibe. I was surprised to find something so nice just an hour outside of Portland. It’s a great place to stay if you’re in the area. I will definitely go back!
PS check in was a breeze!!
