Professional property host/manager
Harley was very reachable and proactive in making sure we were well settled in. Right in front of a TTC station and busy streets which made going out very accessible!
Would highly recommended.
Nice location but the toilet was in the living room. Weirdest room layout I have seen.
.
This was less like a hotel room and more like a friend's spare room. There was no air conditioning. The fan made it barely tolerable. In the summer, it would not have been tolerable. The carpet was extremely dirty. The TV did not work well. I could not get the shower temperature to anything cooler than uncomfortably hot. And, while not a huge deal for me, the lack of an elevator should have been more prominent in the listing.
Exactly what you need for a weekend stay.
Definitely a unique property. Room tired and dated. Shower room very dark and dreary. Convenient for the subway which was across the road. Had to request a hairdryer which I expected as standard. TV only usable with your personal Netflix account or via YouTube otherwise nothing. I was in the Loft room, up 2 flights of stairs. Thanks to the property manager for his help. Harley, you are a legend for carrying my suitcase. Found the instructions for checking in confusing with reference to checking in at another location. Once again, Harley to the rescue.
This was a great value for my needs, and the host was FANTASTIC! Harley was very helpful, knowledgeable, and service oriented.
Harley was super friendly and helpful
The pictures were definitely deceiving.
What we didn’t like how the living room was the shower and the toilet.
That configuration definitely did not work for us and the carpet around the shower and toilet is definitely not hygienic.
The staff was nice enough and clean enough.
Great place to stay f
We immensely enjoyed our stay. We had room 401 and it was quiet, clean and extremely comfortable! I was concerned that because the room was at the top of the building, it would be hot. Nope. The air con in our room was outstanding (probably the best we've ever had in a hotel room) and we *loved* coming in from the summer heat to a cold, crisp room! Harley was responsive and super friendly. The location cannot be beat! Across the street from the subway and all the food you could possibly want within walking distance.
We'll be back!
A gem in downtown Toronto. Very clean. Place has a funky vibe with heritage and modern elements. I was greeted by Harley who explained everything. A very friendly and welcoming dude. He being a Jays fan sealed the deal. The room was small, but I was aware of that when I booked. Tons of places to eat and an easy walk to most downtown attractions. A great boutique hotel. I will be back.
La TUMU has no services, so rating its “services” is moot. Harley is a nice fellow. He met us, showed us how to let ourselves in the front door, and room door, but … this is the point that guests should understand: this is not a hotel, it’s not a pension in the European sense. No front desk, no staff. It’s probably most equivalent to an Air bnb. You have coded entrance and can come and go as you please.
Harley was great, and nice quiet area, close to the subway
Lovely lil Boutique Hotel conveniently located. Comfy bed and nice decor. We had one of the smaller rooms, so if that’s what you book, you need to utilize the space wisely. Recommend you use packing cubes and if can, pack a few hangers. The manager Harley was very nice and accommodating. The lovely lil Italian Bistro on Church St close by was soo good we ate there 2x. Walking distance to the Bata Shoe Museum. If you use Lyft to get to this place or picked up, be aware they seem to have probs finding it so maybe instruct them it’s next to the now closed “Fox & Fiddle. I highly recommend this sweet place.
It is a great location steps from Yonge Street amid all the Asian restaurants and across the street from the Wellesley metro station. Bed, bath, decor all nice. Great price for what you get. Would have liked microfridge and hairdryer but otherwise excellent.
I was booked for a two night stay, and chose this hotel for its price and proximity to the subway. It was fine: the bed was comfortable, the AC worked, the shower was good. The room was small and had one tiny (basement) window, but was adequate for my purposes (and I was really only there to sleep and shower). No issues getting info about accessing the building b and my room: instructions were prompt and clear.
La TUMU is the definition of "you get what you pay for." It's not a true hotel - it's a house that was converted to hold about a dozen or so rooms. With no real amenities, the main advantage of La TUMU is being situated near the subway, making arrivals and departures smooth.
My room was small but functional. The mattress was too soft for my liking, and the sheets felt like polyester. I could feel the rumbling of the subway every few minutes from my room.
La TUMU should, however, change the front door system. Every other time I left or returned to La TUMU I found the front door to the building unlocked, most likely due to other guests forgetting. An automatic lock would be much better.
big plus: next to a 24h market and good restaurants . walking distance to popular spots (or cheap uber). Good service available via sms.
some bad: Area is under construction and saw a few homeless people sleeping on the sidewalk in front of the hotel. Would still stay there again.
Everything was good
