Don’t waste your money at the restaurant worst pizza ever rooms are basic but you have really no options in Death Valley this puts you right in the heart of it
Very nice place and convenient
Clean room. Nice staff. I understand they had a sand storm the day before our arrival so, considering that, all was good. It was hot but there was nothing they could do about that!
We had a deluxe king room for our one night stay. It was clean and nicely presented and the bed/pillows were comfortable. The only problem for us was that the bed had only a top sheet to sleep under. This made it feel a bit too cold in bed, particularly as the air con needed to be set to stop heat building in the room. I expect in the height of summer this might be fine but despite the temp being set at 73 deg, we both felt we needed a blanket for full comfort- or at least be given the option of using one. The full size fridge with small freezer was useful for cold drinks but personally we’d have liked a coffee maker as we were in the furthest block from reception/restaurants although they did offer free coffee in reception if you got there before 8am which is a bonus. We ate at the restaurant and both the service and food were excellent. This hotel is in the heart of Death Valley and had we had time we’d have made use of the pool to cool off. There was a small sandstorm brewing when we arrived which was interesting! The hotel is a great option if you want to stay in the heart of this extraordinary national park.
From the reviews I was expecting the place to be better than what we experienced. There was no hot water for a shower and coffee was not available at the prescribed time.
Enjoyed very much; a nice buffet: coffee, juice, pancakes, French Toast, toast, muffins, cereals. A variety of foods with the one condition; use a clean plate each time one returned for more delicious food for one reasonable price.
Good,we liked it
The location inside Death Valley National Park was excellent! Really enjoyed our stay at Stovepipe Wells. The room was clean, large and comfortable. All the staff we met both in the lodge and the dining areas were helpful, friendly and knowledgeable about the area, offering ideas of what to see and do during our stay.
It is quite a distance to travel to any other restaurants from Stovepipe Wells but although we had three dinners and three buffet breakfasts there we really enjoyed all our meals. The food was well prepared, the portions generous and the wait staff, especially the waitress we had all three mornings for the breakfast buffet, were wonderful.
Would definitely recommend staying and dining at Stovepipe Wells if visiting Death Valley.
We loved staying at Stovepipe. They were very accommodating and made our stay so enjoyable. We were safe and comfortable even in the midst of a dust storm. Great place to stay. Everything you need is right there including dining right at the property.
no coffee maker in room,
Everything was great except there was a sandstorm the day before we checked in and the pool was closed because of it
Lovely clean, hotel with a super pool. The food at the attached restaurant was good - we had dinner & breakfast there.
The park was beautiful. We were disappointed that we were not able to see many of the highlights due to road closures because of flooding but we saw many beautiful sites with much historical significance
Loved that there was a restaurant, saloon, pool & a general store all within the same area
The location of the lodge is amazing. Staff were all friendly & very helpful. We had great beer and pizza in the saloon.
Considering the location supplies in the general store are reasonably priced.
Beds were comfy, room was clean and I really appreciate the efforts taken to make the hotel more environmentally sustainable. The price of gas at stovepipe was $1/gallon cheaper than the station before and after.
We will be visiting again.
Surprisingly good spot considering the in park location. We find most in park hotels are very dated and sometimes not clean. That was not the case here and we enjoyed our stay! Had a simple dinner at on site restaurant which was pretty good also!
Great stop to get most all the park.
.
Nice place with everything you need when you’re visiting Death Valley
Very quaint hotel with all the touches of older Death Valley. Restaurant food was great! Rooms were clean and bed comfortable. The location is a welcome site after hours in the park. Minutes from the dunes and Mystic Canyon.
