I stayed at the Grand Duka Hotel with my boyfriend for 4 nights/5 days and we had a fantastic experience. The staff were five-star – professional, kind, and attentive. Our room was spotless, cleaned daily with fresh towels, and the bed and pillows were very comfortable (I have back problems and still slept really well). The rooms are soundproof, so we never heard other guests.

The hotel ambience is lovely, and even though it is inside a small mall, it never felt intrusive. The hotel lifts are separate, and the room fridge was handy. On our last day we checked out at 11am but were allowed to use the spa until our flight, and we stored luggage in the luggage room – great for late departures. Drinks at the hotel bar were well priced and generous.

For accessibility: stairs at the entrance may be difficult for some, though there’s a lift from the car park. The location is excellent: supermarket, cafés, and restaurants are nearby, plus a kebab shop and bank across the road. ATMs (with English translations) were easy to use, charging about 500 lek per withdrawal, with better rates than the exchange shop a minute away. At the end of the road is an ATV rental, and a bus station is within 5–10 minutes, though we used cabs.

The beach is a short walk (under renovation), but 20 mins by taxi you’ll find a livelier area. A market 10 mins away is also worth visiting.

Overall: clean, comfortable, well-located, and excellent service. Would definitely return!

After a long 13-hour journey to Albania, I could not have chosen a better place to unwind. From the moment I arrived, I felt warmly welcomed. The entire property is spotless, and the staff are not only professional but genuinely kind and hospitable.

The highlight of my stay was, without question, the deep tissue massage — the best I have ever had in my life. On top of that, the free access to the spa facilities made it an incredible value. Between the sauna, steam, and relaxation areas, it was exactly what my body needed after such a long day of travel.

I truly fell in love with this place — it exceeded every expectation I had. If you are looking for comfort, care, and a touch of luxury, this is it. I cannot recommend it highly enough.

Hard to access

Amazing stay at Grand Duka hotel and Spa. Their services are great including spa and catering in the hotel. I absolutely enjoyed my stay here, highly recommended!

Spa is small (1 sauna, 1 hammam, 1 jacuzzi) but the massages are really good

Tip for the hotel: buy few more baby chairs for the breakfast in case there is more than 1 baby

Grand Duka is the perfect place to stay in Durrës. The staff were warm, kind, and incredibly helpful. The spa, included in the hotel fee, was such a wonderful treat. I’d definitely stay here again the next time I visit Durrës, Albania. 10/10!

The hotel is brilliant, great location, new and clean. and the service was great. I left some trousers in my room and the hotel staff was kind enough to post the trousers to me at my next hotel in Tirana! wonderful service. thank you

The hotel was very nice and clean and very good service. The hotel is inside a mall that doesn’t have very many stores so the views and location are very much like you are in the city.

I stayed at the Grand Duka for 5days and I had a good experience - the staff were exceptionally helpful and the service in general was impeccable. The spa facilities was an added bonus. The room was clean and furnishing was top notch. I also dined at the Atrium which was also good. I enjoyed my stay
