We had an amazing time at The Merchant Hotel. Firstly - the view was gorgeous. Such amazing big windows. The room was so clean and in great condition. Good lighting. Comfy bed. Had a fridge which is a lovely bonus. The bathroom had 2 separate shower heads - perfect for a couple's shower. The room was a good temperature which considering it was 35C out was a blessing - yet it was the freezing cold air con you get in some places. The hotel had a lovely rooftop bar with fab views and nice cocktails (though not the best in the city!). There is also a little coffee bar on the ground floor. Staff are friendly and helpful. Rooms are key-code entry which means no worrying about losing keys. Excellent location - not far from the subway and lots of cool bars around. There is a great cafe a few doors down that does amazing breakfasts ("Good Thanks") which we highly recommend.
We plan to go back to NYC soon - usually we like to explore different hotels when we return somewhere but we would definitely love to stay at The Merchant again.

Great location for restaurants, bars and subway access

Hotel totalmente novo, tudo impecável e de bom gosto. Chuveiro e cama excelentes, travesseiros, toalhas e roupas de cama de boa qualidade. O quarto tem um ótimo tamanho e muito funcional. As janelas grandes do chão ao teto dão uma sensação maior, super confortável. A recepção funciona 24hs e os funcionários são bastante atenciosos e solícitos. Tiveram um problema no prédio com a água quente no primeiro dia que foi resolvido em 2 ou 3 horas, mesmo assim se preocuparam em nos compensar pelo inconveniente de alguma forma. No nosso caso ganhamos o late checkout. Serviço de depósito de malas e recebimento de encomendas funcionaram super bem. Localização perfeita, na melhor rua do LES, na frente do Russ & Daughters, poucos passos do Katz, pertinho do Nolita e Soho. Caminhada tranquila para Little Italy e Chinatown. Metrô bem próximo, fácil acesso para qualquer lugar. Apenas 1 parada para Williamsburg, 2 paradas pro Brooklyn. Ficamos hospedados por 10 dias e voltaríamos com certeza!

Mysigt hotell, extra bonus för balkong med morgonsol där vi åt frukost med utsikt över takåsarna.

The location is the best, the hotel itself is super comfortable. Loved the bed, loved the cafe in the lobby and loved the staff.

The room was big and the bed was comfy! The coffee shop in the lobby was great - a great place to work. And the rooftop bar was cute. I like the area!

However, we asked them to clean our room every day and they only did the last day. Getting more towels took forever. the hot water went out right when I needed to shower before an event. The gym was INSANELY hot like unbearable.

The Sonder is a beautifully designed hotel, nestled into one of the coolest neighborhoods of Manhattan.Upon entering the lobby, there is a small cafe with excellent coffee and pastries. Our room was located on the 5th floor and much more spacious than the average hotel room in NY, and equipped with a nespresso machine and electric kettle which was appreciated.
The best part though were our beds which were heavenly. From the comforter to the mattress it was pure bliss. Thank you for such a wonderful stay. We are already looking forward to be coming back.

We absolutely loved our stay at Sonder The Merchant! The hotel was fresh, clean, and beautifully designed. The location is perfect. It’s located on a cozy, quiet (but full with character) street in the Lower East Side, with great restaurants and shops nearby.

We had a room on the 10th floor with amazing view over Manhattan.

Service was also excellent — friendly and responsive. Highly recommend and would definitely stay again!

We had an excellent stay at Sonder the Merchant. It's brand new with beautiful gold fixtures in the bathroom, and we especially loved the location in the Lower East Side. We would definitely consider staying here again on our next NYC trip.

We have stayed at 2 NYC Sonder Locations and have been very happy with both. Clean, convenient and comfortable… and affordable!
Will stay for future visits.

Staff was extremely unhelpful and rude. Felt like it could have been racially motivated. I will not be staying here ever again.
