Barley House

The environment was clean and inviting. Our room was very clean and we love how huge the bathroom was. The shower and its spacing was beautiful as well. The hotel is literally walking distance to the beach. You can even take beach chairs, towels, a cooler and umbrella from the lobby, courtesy of the hotel. There’s restaurants in walking distance as well as a boat charter called Jungle Queen that you can take as a tour.

This property is very nice - clean, well decorated, and smells nice. The building itself was a bit smaller than I expected but the rooms are huge. Breakfast was more finger foods than a nourishing meal, but that is okay there are plenty of restaurants nearby to eat instead. The property also offers a wagon, beach chairs, umbrella, and cooler to take to the beach which was a pleasant surprise. The staff are very helpful and accommodating. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here!

Overall, I didn’t have a good stay, even though it was one night it was very enjoyable. Although the website did offer certain amenities that were not provided. They said they had a bar, I spoke to someone and they don’t have their liquor license yet, The restaurant in there they’re not open yet and when you go into the sitting area, there is just boxes of food left open and just didn’t look professional in that manner. I would suggest they clean up after their breakfast as completed.

Smaller hotel, but fully remodeled, beautiful rooms and right across from the beach. The hotel staff was very helpful. The room was very roomy.
But...two things..... the door doesn't have a peep hole to see who's outside. Also, some sort of sound barrier would be good to put up in-between the rooms where the doors conjoin, the people next to us were so loud.

Staff was super helpful and let us check- in before noon. Pool area was modern and clean. Loved the touch of monogrammed robes and slippers in the room. Close walking to the marina. Overall a great value for the money.

We were pleasantly surprised on how nice this hotel updates are. The breakfast in the morning had a lot of variety including kid friendly options. We would stay here again with our family.

Great property. Small but eclectic. The rooms were large and really nice. The only draw back was the lackluster breakfast

Power went out and we had no power for an hour and a half. It got really hot in there. My husband was so mad.

This hotel was beautiful. Great views. They thought of everything at this property, great amenities in bathroom, shower was amazing, there was a tucked away space for luggage in the room, comfortable bed, refrigerator and sink area were high quality and breakfast foods were delicious - waffles, bagels, hard boiled eggs, cream cheese, lox, great coffee, pastries and melon. They offered a beach cart with cooler, towels, umbrella and chairs - wonderful! Reception staff was pleasant.

Only downside was the bar wasn’t able to provide any beverages (something about liquor license).

We would definitely return!

Magnificent Stay at The Barley House
We had an absolutely magnificent stay at The Barley House! From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel completely welcome. Check-in was smooth and easy, and everyone we encountered was incredibly accommodating and easy to talk to.

One of the highlights of our stay was the flexibility they offered. Since we had a late flight back to Indiana at 7 PM, they kindly allowed us to extend our check-out time to 3 PM, which was such a thoughtful gesture.

A special shoutout to Michaela, Jon, and the rest of the team – their friendliness and genuine hospitality truly stood out. They even surprised us with random treats like fresh fruit and meals, even when breakfast service had ended. That level of care made us feel like part of a family rather than just hotel guests.

The Barley House is not just a beautiful hotel, it’s a place where you’ll be warmly cared for. We’ll definitely be back and will recommend it to our friends and love ones.

I loved how close we are to the beach, loved the lobby area. And pool. The room was so spacious. Clean , dislike the parking situation. There is no valet, plenty of parking for self parking and yet I am charged $25 each day. No it’s not a huge amount but we stayed a long time over a week! Why take a deposit for incidentals and then another $25 for me to park my car ? Again plenty of parking for this time so that was confusing and I don’t think I should have been charged like that

The people were amazing and even invited us to a friends and family event for the food truck opening - it was great!
We loved being able to walk to the beach and easily drive other places.

Lots of Value, With Room to Improve

We really enjoyed our stay here! The hotel has clearly been recently renovated — the room felt fresh and modern. The location was less than ideal, but the close proximity to the beach makes up for it, and having a kitchenette was a huge plus for convenience and savings.

That said, there are a few things that could be improved. Charging $50 per guest just to visit and hang out with us at the pool (without staying overnight) felt excessive. The floors could have been cleaner, and the soundproofing was on the lower side; we could hear more than we’d like from the hallway and outside.

Despite these issues, I’m still giving 5 stars because the positives outweighed the negatives, and the value overall was excellent. We would happily return, and we hope management considers addressing some of these concerns to make the experience even better.
